June Symptoms

@wildtot I had a lot of frequent loose BMs a couple weeks and that ended this past weekend. Now I go regularly which is better than before when I was constantly constipated. I hear it can be an early sign of labor, but it can also be attributed to the LO moving into a position that might not put as much pressure on your colon.

  • @kissableviv Dear God I hope not! I had haaard back labor with DS (he was "sunny side up") and hoping and praying not to have it this time. Haven't heard of a correlation between the two, but I definitely have an anterior placenta so I should probably look into it. Back labor is always described as "discomfort" and all but one other person I've talked to say it was fine after an epidural. That wasn't not the case for me, at all... at aaaaalll Probably because of the back and hip injuries I've gotten over the years. The one other person I know who had that same pain broke her back when she was younger. So again, I think the injuries were part of it.

  • I have just joined the lightning crotch gang and it is not fun! @KatyF0813 mine feels very similar to what you are describing. Sometimes it is reserved to only one side and then other times it is right on my cervix.  Thank goodness the pain is brief but man can it be intense! I don't know how that little guy got a taser in there but he hasn't been afraid to use it!  ;)

Also like a lot of you ladies the pelvic and hip pain is definitely increasing! I feel like my legs are going to pop off sometimes because they feel so...loose I suppose is the best word to describe it. @babybakie and @lindsayleigh1989 I hope you both get some relief! I have a belly band and I do think that it has helped.  They days I don't wear it I feel like my symptoms are worse.

  • @d_marie_23 I'm about to have a US so we'll see. So far he was not fully sunny side up but sideways. The chiropractor today said if that's the case that's a good position because he is already turning and hopefully will know how to do it...
  • @kissableviv Good luck! No luck on my end, I guess, just got back from my growth scan and he was 100% face smushed right into that anterior placent. Ugh.

  • I'm a little jealous of everyone that's having contractions and possible labor symptoms. I'm only 37 weeks this weekend and in no rush for baby to come early but NOTHING is happening. I have still never felt a BH much less a real contraction.

To be honest I don't even know what early labor would feel like. I was induced with DD and didn't feel a thing till after 12 hours of pitocin + having my water broken my the OB.
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • @runsomewhere nothing happening over here either. No BH, cramping or anything. I’m only 36+1 but will probably be induced within 2 weeks so it would be cool if my body was like sort of ready...
  • Super crampy with the hip separating kind of pain again as I walk, up my back and into my shoulders occasionally. Subsided after awhile staying off my feet, but still have trouble telling if its movements or contractions, or both and that's why it hurts so bad!

@whiskeyandtrouble your comment reminded me that after my last pregnancy and before getting KU with this guy I had this hip popping issue when I bent at the waist that kind of felt like the top half of my hips were going to slide off my lower body. Since being pregnant its been BETTER actually, and I always thought it would get worse. Weird!
  • @d_marie_23 I'm sorry! Look up spinning babies. Lots of good stretches and things you can try to encourage a better position. Looks like my babe is facing sideways which is ok according to US Tech . Chiro wasn't that good at feeling him...

@runsomewhere add me to the no labor symptoms. Again, mom is coming on Thursday so I'm ok with that but after that I'm gonna start upping some practices to see if it makes a difference. First cervix check was moved to 39w.
  • @kissableviv Definitely going to look it up now. Glad yours is still in a good position!

  • @SmashJam you said you've had a lot of lightning crotch right? I have experienced what I thought was that as well and my dr said some of that feeling can actually be contractions, but hard to say 1.) Because he's a man and 2.) Because he's not feeling what I actually am to say yes or no. But from his 15 years of OB experience most women who are dilating have mentioned feeling that and he can't help but think there is some correlation. I would describe mine sometimes as a fish opening its mouth type of feeling with the shooting pain directly down there
  • +1 to @wildtot's description of lightning crotch. I would not say it's anything like a contraction. It's very localized to the crrvix and sudden and sharp.

Dying at your gif @wildtot :D

ETA maybe what I'm feeling isn't actually lightning crotch after hearing you other ladies describe it. Who knows lol
  • @kbernal2021 I wouldn't be surprised if the hip separating pain is contractions, but its diff than what I identify as lightning crotch. Lightning crotch is definitely more of the shooting pain in my cervix. Maybe both of us are experiencing some contractions, although fingers crossed for both of us that nothing happens for a bit...you so dh can be there and me bc I'm only 35 weeks!
  • No BH here either but today i had a little cramping and just overall felt a bit crummy.  Cramps not bad, lasted like an hour and then a super tiny spot of blood. I felt baby moving so Dr said not to worry but keep listening to baby and come in if bleeding continues.
  • @SmashJam I was induced with my son after 40 weeks and upon being admitted for that I literally was at 0 dilation but was effaced quite a bit. I know I have been having contractions for sure because I have felt them although it's never been anything timeable or consistent enough to say "am I in labor." Really the hip and pelvic pain would be my biggest complaint, which I know has everything to do with my body preparing itself to labor. Definitely crossing my fingers you find you've made some progress when the time comes, and until then FX little babe gives you some relief.

I’ll be 38 weeks tomorrow and haven’t felt any painful contractions, just the occasional one that almost feels like the baby is moving, and occasional cramping or BH. But I’m fine with baby girl not coming early!

My biggest complaint has been all the swelling in my feet, ankles, and now calves after standing too long at a work reception the other day. Exercising and putting my feet up and sleeping on my left side haven’t been helping. But I finally got my prenatal massage today and she was able to reduce some of the swelling. I highly recommend it if swelling is driving you crazy!

I feel like DS is trying to poke a few fingers through my cervix and I've got the most uncomfortable shooting pain.

One foot swells up like a hippo to the point where I feel like my skin is going to crack wide up.

Im finding it impossible to do anything but sit. I feel so sorry for the kiddos because it takes everything inside to get home from work and stay awake until like 7... =[
  • I am not a nap taker at all, anytime i have ever felt tired enough to actually take a nap i regret it at night. (With the exception of the first 27 weeks of this pregnancy where I felt like a zombie) but today i seriously felt dead. I have been feeling off the better part of today, with lots of cramps and increasing contractions, nausea, and lots of loose BM. I actually took a nap and feel like I wont have any trouble sleeping tonight... well anymore trouble than normal considering sleep is a thing of my past this entire pregnancy too lol
  • @kbernal2021 I was so tired today too! Napped on the couch til 3 which means my son slept too much too. I had headaches, nausea  and disinterest in food all day as well.
  • +1 on the nausea...
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • Me too on the tiredness today! Just plain exhausted. Fell asleep in the bathtub. Then  My husband went to work in the afternoon and I fell asleep on the couch while my toddler was watching tv next to me. I felt like such a bad mom when I woke up an hour later and he was snuggled up cuddling with me watching what was probably his 10th Mickey episode of the day.
  • Anyone else got major bloat and gas? It’s like first tri all over again!
  • @wildtot yes. I can clear a room these days. And it doesn't seem to matter what I eat either. So bad!
  • I think more of my MP is starting to come out with some pink tinting. I know it could mean nothing.
  • Anyone with BP issues know when to worry about the numbers bouncing around? My dr already did blood work and took a urine sample but that was Friday so I'm not anticipating knowing any results until tomorrow. He sent me with instructions to monitor 3x a day, or more if I'm having symptoms, or after a high reading. So far even when my BP has been high I haven't had any symptoms, no swelling etc. So far since checking my BP as instructed its bouncing like crazy. I'll get a 156/94 reading and then check again an hour later and its 118/78. I'm not changing anything I'm doing in that time frame either such as sitting down etc. I can get both readings sitting down with my feet up an hour apart. I know he mentioned wanting it to level out, so not sure what's concerning for bouncing around?
  • millpemillpe member
@kbernal2021 My instructions from my Dr were to sit for 10 min before taking my BP and sit with my back straight and both feet on the floor while taking it. I am supposed to take it 2x a day unless I get a high reading (anything over 140(top) or 90(bottom)) then I should take it again within 6 hours. If I get 2 high readings within the 6 hours I am supposed to call L&D and go in for monitoring. My dipstick urine labs and my bloodwork labs have all been fine, but my 24hr urine was high and I have lots of swelling so my dr thinks I am "developing" pre-e which is why I am being watched.

  • @MrsMiller8588 are your numbers all over the place with readings or consistently on the higher side in the same range? I have been taking my readings in the same position however I'm not sitting up straight with both feet flat on the floor as if I were in a dr. Office so i will definitely try that for my next ones
  • @kbernal2021 mine are also all over the place. My liver enzymes have been slightly elevated for the past week and a half but I have no symptoms at all. Sometimes I get a high number then a regular number. My dr just said to call if I get anything over 150/90. (Which she upped from the 140/90 bc I kept getting those and after two trips to L&D with everything being fine she just said 150 which I’ve managed to stay under). But sometimes I get normal and then I get anywhere up to the 140s.  Always bouncing around, also no symptoms. Will probably get induced within the next 5-10 days (37-38 weeks) bc of it though bc they don’t like it. I’m just trying to make it another 8 days bc my parents just left for vacation and I don’t want to deal with Mom complaining I had her grandbaby while she was away lol

@kbernal2021 my home monitor does that too...it jumps all around and makes no sense. So I decided I no longer trust it. Now I go to the pharmacy and use their machine if I feel like I need to check it. I’d say if you’re not having any symptoms and you had a normal reading after a high reading, I’d check again tonight and call if it’s high again, and if not, still call in the morning and let them know about the different readings. And be vigilant for symptoms. But always call if your gut is saying to call!
  • Well it’s official, I can no longer sit and enjoy a pedicure. Baby is wiggling around against my bladder and cervix and I’m so uncomfortable. I guess I’ve entered the phase where any position besides vertical is a no go.
  • Thanks ladies. :)
  • millpemillpe member
@kbernal2021 my numbers fluctuate, but generally I've noticed they seem to be getting generally higher. Although I've only had 2 readings "over" and not consecutive so I haven't called in. If I sit first they are more consistent then if I go from moving around to taking it.

36 weeks. Random contractions make me feel like I have to poop. But as of Fri night, still long and closed. Pelvic pain like hell. And just antsy to have this baby.
  • sm05-2sm05-2 member
This morning I threw up (ugh, it came in five waves) and while that was going on I felt two big gushes of fluid. It didn’t smell like urine....

i have a doctor’s appointment this afternoon to go over c-section details and I guess I’ll ask about it then.
  • @sm05-2 did the gushing stop?? Hope throwing up isn’t due to a bug.
  • sm05-2sm05-2 member
@wildtot the gushing stopped (usually I’ll have trickled of ... discharge?). My nausea and occasional throwing up has never gone away this pregnancy, so I’m guessing it’s likely that.

Am just curious about it since I’m 38 + 1.
