I desperately want this... but my mom keeps telling me I'm being rude. I am, but I still stand by it. But ugh... I don't want to spend money to feel bad about wearing it.
I've had a crazy travel schedule the past 5 days (a +6 and -3 time zone change, 2 days apart, plus a redeye flight) and am so jet lagged and way off my sleep schedule. It's after midnight, and I'm back to a normal work day tomorrow, and I'm not even a little bit tired. With all this talk about wine, I wish I could drink 2 big glasses of red to put me right to sleep!!
The fella made a pork tenderloin in red wine sauce tonight and I had about 4 sips to "pair" with the meal, but it's really not enough to become sleepy juice.
@sammierose464 It's foggy and a high of 81 here in VA. I really need this after the 90+ weekend. They stopped DS1's soccer game early Saturday morning because it was already 90 before 10am. All the kids were drenched in sweat and complaining about the heat!
@sammierose464 That’s morning favorite wine! We had it for the first time on our honeymoon in Petosky. They didn’t carry it at the party store next to our house in Redford, so we only had it on special occasions since I never think to buy wine at the grocery store.
The first day of the week always gets me down because H and I work such long days. Plus I barely saw him all weekend and now we both have longer commutes. I’m worried about how often we’ll see each other now that we’ve moved. I know it’s for the best tho. We lived in a terrible area with bad schools. So I’m being selfish and need to stop it. End vent. Lol.
DH took me to see deadpool last night! It was good but I didn't think it was as funny or good as the first of course.. I cant remember who here said they saw it but your right it had a few sad parts!! I was justutprised I made it through the entire movie without getting up to pee, but my back was killing me after!

The app is determined to stick me in the box...
There's a really good party store on Pontiac Trail in Wixom if I remember correctly. It's right next to the train tracks. It's been a few years though.
Ok I have to post this because I think it's so darn cute and it's surprisingly related to current topic. DD has been very interested when I rub lotion on my bump lately. Well this morning I was sitting in the floor with her and she lifted up my shirt and started rubbing my belly! I know she is just imitating me, but I'm telling myself that she is saying hi to her little sister! My heart is exploding right now!
@mamabearcj We saw Deadpool on Sunday and I was disappointed too. Not nearly as good as the first! I made it without having to pee but I did doze off for a bit.
Okay step parents, here's a question. Would you have DH's ex babysit your bio kid? We have a wedding this weekend 6 hours away from where we live. We're staying the night in a hotel and thought my parents were going to watch DD. But yesterday my mom was being a passive aggressive dick about her plans for the weekend so we're brain storming alternatives. We'd like to take DD with us and hire a babysitter if possible, and the in-laws are out since they'll be at the same wedding. I know it varies so much from situation to situation, but would you let the ex baby sit overnight for you?
@kfrob my husband's ex? Nope. But that's because I barely trust her with SS. She's not really the best mom type. However, if you guys have a good relationship with her and trust her - then go for it. Obviously DH trusted her enough to have a kid with her and she has the kid part time (I'm assuming). If you feel comfortable, then I don't see why not.
We don't have that kind of relationship with BM. SS keeps saying his nana should watch baby. Um nope. I can't stand her and she can't stand me.
@sammierose464 I was kinda shocked DH suggested it. The ex isn't the best mom either, but has gotten leaps and bounds better over the last few years. I'm trying to sort out if I'm uncomfortable with the idea right now bc of who she is, or bc I legit wouldn't be okay with it.
@KFrob No. Every situation is different, but for the most part I think exes should keep very clear boundaries between their families so as not to confuse the kids. We are not friends/family with H's ex or her family. They are E's family and we can work with them for his benefit, but that is all. There was a time (before H and I got together and before E's mom got with his stepdad) where the lines were a little more blurred and it was definitely confusing for E.
If you're comfortable with it then go for it. My cousin goes through this a lot, she has DD1 with someone and DD2 with someone else, if DD2s dad can't take her for something DD1s step mom will, since she has 2 younger kids close to the same age they all play together and it works for them. My cousin can't stand DD1s dad but her step mom is super nice and they get along well.
Random insert for any PDX area ladies - the BRU here are pretty much all closing end of June. Prices were 40-60% off this weekend already and there were tons of high chairs, strollers, car seats, diaper pails, and all of the little stuff left (bottles, pacifiers, breast feeding accessories, et al.)
H and I may or may not have surfed all three this weekend, so if you're looking for something specific happy to let you know if we saw it at one of them (they all had different inventory.) There was only one item we found that was still more expensive than Amazon or Target + 15% discount (Graco Extend2Fit), everything else was a good deal.
@mamabearcj I think in DH's eyes it's more about SD and DD having a "sleepover" and getting that extra time together rather than it is about ex "watching" DD.
@krzyriver That's something I didn't think about and a valid point for us to consider. We are def not friends but it's to the point where everyone gets a long okay and things are pretty calm.
@chopchop25 We went on Sunday and got a glider & stool for $99, a couple of breast feeding covers (one was $5, the other one was $8), and a package of newborn sized white onesies for $6. Its worth checking out a this point.
@kfrob we got the same breast feeding covers I think! Also ended up with a ton of stuff from our registry- high chair, pack and play, diaper pail, Halo bassinet and pack and play sheets/liners/newborn insert/etc, bottle warmer/breast feeding kit, and some other things (there's one more big ticket thing, but I can't remember what it was.) I was like a kid in a candy story when I saw our high chair for like $70 less, but all of the big stuff was $40+ less than it was on Amazon or Target with the discount.
@KFrob It's something that I find a lot of people don't take into account or assume is not an issue. And would likely not be too big of an issue in this particular situation since it's your DD and the H's ex, but you just never know what ideas kids are dreaming up in their heads. So I'm typically pretty strict across the board with E's family or when step parents ask me for advice: keep the boundaries up and clear.
No way on God’s green earth am I drinking 32 oz of water an hour before I get to this appointment. I have to be there 30 min early so that would mean holding alllll that pee for an hour and a half PLUS during the scan. Do you people not know I’m pregnant or something? I WILL pee myself.
@jynjer91 I was told to drink 16oz and she had me pee multiple times throughout the appointment because my bladder was *too* full. Drink what you can, you'll be alright!
I'm so confused y'all. I owed almost $6000 to my doctors office from dozens of emergency visits while pregnant with Z, giving birth, hospitalized after his birth, and then my emergency visits for #3. I just got online to make my payment. My paper statement from 4/30 is in front of me saying I have 35 more payments until my payment plan is paid off. My online portal says I owe $800 and only have 5 more payments to make!! I'm trying not to get too excited because it could easily be an error, but holy crap that would be amazing if my insurance came back and paid that much! Calling tomorrow to double check on it. FX.....
I want French fries... again. I mentioned it to MH and he didn’t say he would get me some (he’s working out) so now I’m debating how much I want them. Should I go get them myself? It’s not that far and I still have real clothes on, but I’m also pretty tired after doing a bunch of stuff today. We have a farm field trip tomorrow and I’m definitely going to need energy then so I’m leaning toward looking pathetic and hoping he goes when he’s done. Also, a farm field trip when it’s going to be 91 tomorrow isn’t exactly something I’m looking forward to.
@purplegoldfish2 hope DH gets them for you and start hydrating now! That's going to be a brutal field trip, I hope it's at least breezy for you tomorrow.
Salem was fun to wander. However, now I'm tired and sore. I've been super active the last few days, which for even non pregnant me I'd be tired. Here's hoping I can get some good sleep.
Does anybody live close enough to Natick, MA to go to Wegmans there? I just read they have a cart escalator because it has 2 floors and now I need to see it!
Also, no luck on the French fries because “we need to eat healthier” and “you said we need to stop going out to eat so much” and both of those are true. At least he’s suffering with me because he wants chocolate and since it was making me sick I haven’t bought any in a while and we don’t have any left.
@mamabearcj thanks! I’m hoping for a nice breeze too and planning to stay in the shady areas as much as we can.
@purplegoldfish2 we have a whole foods with an underground parking garage, and it has a "cart escalator" too! I think the carts have magnets on the wheels so they don't roll down the ramp, but I've seen it happen before...still gotta hold on to the cart lol.
ETA....but how do they get the carts back upstairs? I guess they take them in small batches in the elevators?? (Escalator only goes down)
@jynjer91 Inwas told to drink 32oz water, but the tech let me pee right again. She said she “wouldn’t torture me”. I wouldn’t worry too much. Just drink water and don’t pee before hand.
@tinattt23 WHAT?!?! Why do we not have these things here? Do people try to ride up them? Do they get in trouble? I have so many questions and the enginerd in me needs to see one!
@purplegoldfish2 we have ones that are dedicated for just carts to go up and it's a small gated off escalator and you put your cart in and it gets pulled up. Some stores have ones you ride along with your cart. The magnet makes it impossible for you to move the cart so you just stand behind it and go up.

It's supposed to storm in MI on Wednesday which is supposed to bring the temp down.
