@mrsbubbles-2 I'm a big history show nerd (I hate history as a subject - but I love watching historical dramas). I just finished the second season of Versailles and am now watching the second season of The Crown.
If you like shows with outrageous beautiful costumes and lots of sexy-time, Versailles is really good
@ecwk - lol! I can't do the baby bum ones, the cartoon babies kinda freak me out. We love simple songs though, can I interest anyone in a little baby shark with their morning coffee?
Although I seriously love baby shark - DS puts his hand up on his forhead like a shark fin and goes do do do the whole time.
@hezzer78 - I keep hearing about the crown, is it similar to Game of Thrones where I can kiss all my free time goodbye? @rocknrollmom - I love Garcia! She's by far my favorite in that show. Well, except for Shemar but that's a love that extends far beyond Criminal Minds lol! I haven't seen the previews for 7 seconds yet, I'll check it out! Thanks!
My super random today is that we have a lunch meeting with some upper level managers and I've been bitching and complaining about my maternity dress pants being so uncomfortable so I've been a slacker and wearing jeans. Anyway, I unearthed a pair of mat work pants this weekend and wore them today and they're soft and stretchy and stil look totally professional but I feel like I'm wearing pajamas to work. So it's a good day
@ecwk we do LBB too! And Puffin Rock. As for adult shows? I hardly remember what those are like! H watches a lot of war documentaries and combat themed movies but I turn into a blubbery mess so he saves those to watch alone.
...mostly I watch things like Parks and Rec, Big Bang Theory, HIMYM--lighter goofy stuff like that. All else makes me cry right now.
We re-watch the Star Trek series in order a LOT. It's good to have on as background noise when you're doing stuff around the house.
Otherwise, we watch a lot of NCIS, Shetland (BBC show), The Last Kingdom (Viking show with really good plot), Arrow, Law & Order SVU, Breaking Bad and it's spin-off Better Call Saul, The 100, a lot of the Ken Burns series are good too if you like historical stuff, Blue Bloods, The Fall.
I think when we both have time to sit down and actually pay attention to something that we haven't seen 100 times before, we're going to start Altered Carbon.
My work days are now resuming to normal. My department is nuts the few days leading up to end of the month and then the first 5-6 business days of the month while we are closing everything out. You'll notice I become MIA around those times!
I never had a true migraine until I was pregnant with DS. Around 24 weeks I all of a sudden got blurred vision, started seeing prisms/light in my peripheral vision and then an intense headache came on. They ruled out anything serious and just diagnosed it as a migraine. I had them quite a bit the remainder of pregnancy and probably a handful or so times since. Well, this morning I got one and it was bad. So now I'm sitting here at work with a pounding headache wondering how I am going to get through the day, especially when I stare at a computer screen mostly. On the plus side I have my every-4-week appointment today with my OB, so I can at least get a peace of mind that it's just a migraine and not anything more serious. Their main concern last time was pre-eclampsia, but my urine sample today will hopefully clear any concerns of that!
@mrsbubbles-2 Um - I REALLY love GoT, so that may be a bad comparison for me. The Crown is a good show. The acting is good and the story is pretty good. It's not as riveting as GoT, but it's well done and I enjoy it.
@lolog531- thinking of you - let us know what the OB says! I really hope you feel better @neeraja_k - YES to Star Trek! I think we're in a slump partially because Discovery isn't going to be back on for a while. But I've never seen some of the other Trek series so that might be next step @hezzer78 - lol! DH and I were watching GoT and I really enjoyed it, DH just couldn't get into it. Blah. So I haven't started watching it alone because it's such a hard show to watch in reasonable time chunks lol!
But seriously you guys - who is voting on what a stranger is going to name their kid? I don't get it! Like, is she going to go home, sit her DH down and be like 'hey I asked a bunch of internet strangers and they like Sarah Lee (lolz) so I think we should go with that one?' I seriously don't get the desire to put out a poll for people to vote on your kid's name
@mrsbubbles-2 I was hoping someone would know. I have no idea, and she hasn't done anything else with her account. She has 10 points, so maybe some love-tits since December. Just WHY?

So I just got back from a two hour "staff delegation" meeting and where I work can be pretty hippy-ish but they seriously today debated on changing the name of the department I am in to something else. What other place can you work where names of departments have to be vetted by literally all staff. It was so weird.
I follow a couple Aug 18 pages on FB and the amount of insanity without the allowance of snarkiness is frustrating. People will say things that would be killed with fire here and over there everyone is all rainbows and unicorns. And it makes my brain hurt.
Including tons of flameworthy names. Makes ya stabby. lol.
@livinthesunnylife Yeah - we're HR but our department name is "human enrichment" I mean I think it's lame - it was created before we were all here and now all of a sudden everyone's like "you're not really enriching anything, you're human resources." I tend to agree and in the 2 years I have been here - I never use the term. But it's just incredibly weird to sit in a room with other staff while they apparently have really deep feelings about the name change and everyone has to vote on it. This is not how life is in regular workplaces hahah I'm pretty indifferent to what the department is labelled as so I don't get the big hooplah over it.

@scottishlass1213 Do you have to vote? Or can you throw a non sequittur in there, like "Velociraptor Snacksident Department", just to illustrate just how asinine it is? Lol
my ils left this morning and I feel like I was hit by a train. Not that it was physically tiring just... mentally. It’s 230 and I’m still in pjs and haven’t even eaten yet... kids just watching tv (not my normal mo... spring break week).
But I did decide on big brother/little sis tees so i got the important stuff done at least.
I haven't posted anything since my intro, and I don't do name threads usually, but thanks to @calimom2524's post, I figured I'd mess with the middle names post by voting for the only one that didn't have two votes. So now they're all at 33% to make things just that. Much. Harder.
Apparently the term Human Enrichment was created back when this department was a department of one. How much was he enriching this place? Not a lot - he basically was fired, a consulting company came in, hired all of us that are now here (4) of us and we spent the better part of a year or more cleaning up the horrendous mess he left behind. That's the comical part to me. We have a lot of weird titles here too for people that you look at and you're like "huh?!?!"
I just work in a very intense place where a lot of people have never had like a corporate job or worked other places so they think it's super normal that staff should have a say in EVERY thing that happens here.
A couple months ago it came up in another meeting that people want to know BEFORE someone gets fired so they have a chance to say goodbye...and what they did to get fired. Um, no. Not how it works.
My Amazon baby box came today! I can't wait to see what we got. Also, I just keep thinking about all the yummy snacks I have at home. DH is on his way home now and he better not eat them all! When he gets home from work he is like a vacuum and eats everything not nailed down.
I ate at a delicious taco place today for lunch. And I just ate a bunch of chocolate candy. And now I want trail mix.
I did look at the name poll but didn’t vote. I don’t really like asking for other people’s opinions either. If I like a name then I don’t really want to know anyone else’s opinion.
