@2589 I was having the same problem with sleeping. I have a shredded memory foam body pillow that @LaceyBee522 recommended and I love it but it is heavy. So when I have it between my legs sometimes the bottom leg would go numb or ache and my hip would hurt more. Then I would just flop onto my back. I have started sleeping with my left leg bent and up on the pillow and my right leg straight with my right arm under my head. The key for me was to make sure there was more space in between my body and the pillow. Using the pillow to mostly support my bent leg rather than having it pressed up against me. It is almost exactly the same way I used to sleep on my hip/stomach but with my leg elevated on the pillow it leaves room for the bump.

After getting my blood work back from the doctor, they're going to continue monitoring for pre-e but don't think I have it right now. The nurse who called said I'm "spilling proteins into my urine" but it's not a major cause for concern right now. I'm still concerned and I'm a push over so I didn't want to keep pressing her for more details. I've tried to Google what it could mean but that's not helpful at all.
I also have low iron so I started on an iron supplement last night and also stool softeners. And I failed my 1 hour glucose so I have to go in Tuesday morning for the 3 hour. I'm convinced I didn't pass because it was non-fasting and I took it at almost 4 in the afternoon. My early glucose test was at 8 in the morning and I had fasted.
All this worry about pre-e and the other stuff that popped up is really getting me down and making me so anxious which isn't helping my stress levels or blood pressure or my sleep. In reality, I know all of these things are easily manageable, it just feels like I'm failing. Pregnancy with DD was such a breeze! TGIF.
@aharv77 ugh I'm sorry. That's a lot to take in and worry about. FX pre-e stays far far away. Did they check you for a UTI? Sometimes that causes protein in the urine. Do you have access to your labs online to see exactly what your protein was? And to see your other labs they just checked?
Hard to not stress and keep your BP down when you're anxious. Hoping your 3 hour test goes well. Like you said though, that is easy to manage if it's an issue!
@aharv77 so sorry you're going through that. It's a lot to have to take on all at once. Maybe try to do something for yourself this weekend. Get a mani/pedi or take a bath or buy yourself the thing you have been eyeing but didn't want to spend the money on.

@aharv77 - so sorry you have all of this extra stress right now. Try to relax- I like @krashke 's idea of a mani/pedi! You're doing great!
AFM- pregnancy insomnia. wtf. I def didn't have this with my first. I got about 3 hours of non consecutive sleep last night. all weekend I couldn't fall asleep until 330 am and I'm usually out by 10 1030. The universe is playing a sick joke. My kid is finally sleeping and now I can't sleep because of pregnancy. So. Damn. Tired.
@amys614 They didn't check for a UTI but I might call back and ask if it could be that. I've UTI's before but it doesn't feel like I have one although I know pregnancy can be a tricky beast. I do have access to my labs. Protein was 24 and it says the standard range is 1-14. The UP/UCRE ratio was .75 and the standard range is <=0.166. My white blood cell count was slightly elevated too and I know that means I could be fighting off some sort of infection. It'd make sense!
@krashke@kmurdock925 Thank you ladies! I'm going to take some me time this weekend and also try to get some "quality" rest. Sleep almost always helps readjust my perspective.
So I've mentioned about my back before. Well I got answers on the issues {yes round ligament problems BUT a bit more than that} I saw an RMT last night. Narrowed down pain problems. More issues on left hip area, and body compensating with right shoulder/ribs. So I'm off balance. She said I could come back in 2 weeks, but I mentioned I wanna see how long this helps. She mentioned I may have issues after baby, but hard to say. It's 100% because BabyKitten is pulling everything forward. If there's long term issues, she advised a chiropractor to readjust.
We'll see how this goes, but I definitely slept better last night than I have in awhile!
@aharv77 I'm so so sorry you're dealing with ALL THE THINGS! I hope you get good news on your 3 hour test. I've mentioned it before, but I've been taking iron for years and I swear by the liquid iron. It is easier on my stomach and causes way less constipation issues than the pills (in my experience). Link to what I use in the spoiler.
When does post-partum hair loss start? Seems like asked and answered in the same question but I just ran my fingers through my hair and got like a fist full of hair. There wasn't even much by way of tangles or pulling.

@LaceyBee522 Yeh I'm definitely glad I have an idea. This way I can try to make adjustments, she gave me a way to lie on my side so it relieves some pressure. I'm def swapping my purse soon also my current purse may be part of issues so might as well try!
@krashke I was like @austenista with hair loss happening a 4-5 months postpartum. Some of my friends had it earlier. I'm not sure if it can be a thing prenatally but hormones are weird.
@LaceyBee522 Thank you! I bought the pills but I think I might switch to the liquid since I've already had enough issues with hemorrhoids/constipation this pregnancy. I'm afraid my poor booty can't take much more
So sorry to hear about your apartment woes Hope something else comes along that will work for your family!
@aharv77 Sorry about all the bummers. FX that next week is an improvement! @Austenista I have those same half-bangs of which you speak Pair 'em with Mom jeans, and you've got quite the look.
@aharv77 I’m sorry girl. I’m very much with you on pregnancy being so much easier the first time around. I hope things straighten back out for you. FWIW, I had trace protein in my urine around 16 weeks and hasn’t happened again and OB said not to be concerned (I still was), as well as had to take the 3 hour glucose too. I believe there’s quite a few false positives with the 1 hour. I will be hoping for the best for you!
@krashke like the others, mine started 4-5 months postpartum.
@aharv77 you are really dealing with all the things. I hope you find some time to relax this weekend or at least get a few good nights of sleep. But +1 on pregnancy being easier the first time.
@aharv thinking about you. Hopefully all of this eases up to a bunch of no big deals and false alarms. Plus another one to finding pregnancy much easier the first time.
You guys sure know how to make a girl feel better! Thanks for letting me whine/vent/rant. I'm feeling a lot better about things and got a personal call from my doctor checking in and asking if I had more questions when I came back from a meeting. I haven't had a chance to call her back but it makes me feel better that she was following up on my concerns and I'm not being disregarded!
I rushed to catch a train on the way to my massage and ffuucckkeedd up my pelvis. Like can barely walk at all. Then got a massage, which felt divine but my pelvis was still fucked. Then got a haircut which I think undid all the positives the massage did bc I was sitting for two hours. I am in so much pain o m g. Sigh. (But my hair looks nice?)
@aharv77 girl, sorry you're going through all of that! I hope everything turns out just fine for you!!
Afm, I now have this itchy rash all over my breasts... so while it's likely eczema or contact dermatitis or something like that, I'm over here like 'oh god, I have inflammatory breast cancer.' Soooo itchy!!
@marcus7676 I peed my underwear coughing this week. I did a load of laundry that included my 1 year old's cloth diapers, my 3 year old's underwear (which he had peed on), and my own pee soaked underwear. Sigh.
Anyone else getting the occasional odd prickling sensation in their vag/cervix? I just started noticing a few yesterday and some today. To Google or not to Google...
Anyone else getting the occasional odd prickling sensation in their vag/cervix? I just started noticing a few yesterday and some today. To Google or not to Google...
Is it "lightning crotch"? That was in my "what to expect" book, I bet google will give you an answer too as it's apparently fairly common?
I haven't really been on this thread much this month so apologies if this has already been discussed. I have a horribly itchy rash all over my legs - not at all on my belly which seems to be more common if you look up rashes that have to do with pregnancy. It has gotten worse over the past week. I have an appointment Thursday with my OB so I'm going to ask her then and see if she's seen this in pregnant women before.
We've pretty much ruled out any kind of allergy because I haven't changed detergent/soap/lotion/etc. My husband is a nurse and was researching it last night and said he things it might be something along the lines of "prurigo of pregnancy". At first we were thinking PUPP but since it's not at all on my belly we aren't sure. Fingers crossed the doctor knows what it is! Either way though I don't think there's too much they can do. I've put a tiny bit of hydrocortisone cream on it but that doesn't really seem to help anyway, plus I'm hesitant to use too much of that. For Christmas I was given Burt's Bees "Mama Bee" foot/leg cream that has peppermint oil and menthol and that actually helps a lot thank goodness.
I'm gonna be talking to my OB today {yay appt!} but maybe I'm not the only one dealing with this?
It's happened a few times, but I could usually deal and it was mostly when I was standing or walking. Last night I was sitting, and it just felt like LO was sitting so low and pressing on my pelvis and pulling on my back. I figured, okay I'll just lean forward and relieve pressure like I normally do when my back hurts.
Nope. Nope. Terrible decision. Felt worse. I could feel the pressure/pain in my hips almost immediately so I leaned back. I put a pillow under my belly, thinking maybe lifting off hip area would help. It did, so once I could get some relief I put on the brace I got for my back and thought it would help lift. It helped a bit, but then felt weird pressure on my belly. Not like contraction type, just as if something was too tight {wasn't brace, I readjusted}
Then this morning I was walking and had weird pains at top of abdomen - around base of rib cage area. Actually caused me to stop walking {for reference, I wasn't going far - typical short 5min walk from bus stop to work} I ended up leaning forward and walking slow, and that helped.
Sorry such a novel, but hoping more details would help. I am seeing OB today and 100% mentioning this because it kinda freaked me out. Don't wanna Google because ..... well because Google lol
@taykc90 I'm sorry about your rash. I don't have any experience with rashy legs, but I did have a weird rash during my first pregnancy. It was like a red band all the way around my waist. It buffled my OB because it wasn't typical of a PUPP rash. Luckily it didn't bother me because it didn't itch or anything but she did prescribe hydrocortisone lotion. Since she didn't know what caused it, she wanted it gone before baby arrived just in case it was related to an infection or anything. Lotion didn't really help and the rash disappeared within a couple days of giving birth. Just chalked it up to "one of those pregnancy things ". Hope you get some relief soon!
@MissKittyDanger - Pregnancy pains have me baffled this time around. I was lying on the couch last week, on my left side, and suddenly had really painful aches in my pelvis. I had to sit up vs. laying down. It wasn't my hips, it was the insides of my legs and all along my pelvic bone. I have no idea what caused it. Then, last night I was rolling over in my sleep and had a sharp pain on the top front of my thigh that woke me up. This is the achiest I've been in 3 pregnancies. It's awful.
I hope you get answers at your appointment today.

@taykc90 I haven't experienced rashy legs in pregnancy, but I have had it before and I get it's 100% not comfortable I had previously used aloe or 'charity pot' {from LUSH} on my leg rash, but def talk to your dr because they may have something better for you
@mytinc Right!? It's like out of no where. It's hard not to be concerned {regardless if you're FTM or STM+} since everything is just so different. I'm hoping my OB has an idea at least of some relief
@taykc90 I didn't have the rash but from what I understand, rash is better than no rash. I had itching with no rash so they checked my bile acids and liver enzymes to be sure it wasn't cholestasis of pregnancy, which is apparently really the only dangerous issue. Whatever it is, I hope your OB has an answer and a solution for you. FX.
@MissKittyDanger I get that sharp upper abdomen lower rib pain pretty regularly. Often it's so painful I have to stop and catch my breath. I kinda assumed it was baby up by my ribs and never mentioned it to my OB. My next appointment is next Tuesday so maybe I should? Idk. Hopefully your ob has reassuring things to say.
AFM I got some BH so bad yesterday that I see why some people go to the hospital. Walking the dogs and I had to stop and give both leashes to MH. It felt like my stomach was so tight it was going to rip open. Luckily it passed, but ouch! Also I couldn't sleep to save my life last night. Gonna get a body pillow today to see if it helps.

@Amphibious22@MissKittyDanger the upper abdomen/lower rib pain is normal. I've talked to my OB about it and she was just like, yep pregnancy is great. It is baby, but it is also your muscles by your ribs stretching away from the ribs as your uterus grows. My skin is numb/tingly there, and my OB said that is also completely normal.
@doxiemoxie212 Ah! Good to know there's a reason Tbh it's more the lower abdomen/hip area that concerns me more. Just the area and how it feels. I'm pretty sure it's just baby pressing and I'm probably just paranoid lol
Anyone else have semi-freckles on their nipples? My nipples are already darker, and over the past week I've developed a few darker spots that look like freckles.
Google tells me this is normal, but also tried to tell me it's from sun exposure. And my nips don't get as much sun as I'm sure they'd love
@MissKittyDanger could it be round ligament pain? I've had it pretty dang bad this go round and it comes out of nowhere and literally feels like someone is stabbing me right at my right pelvis.
