This coming Tuesday is town meeting day in Vermont, where towns vote on their town budget and school budget. Our town is doing its voting today. It's a pretty cool process as we have a direct say in what we think is important (for example, you can make your property tax higher to raise money for something at the school the state doesn't provide money for). This is my first town meeting day as a homeowner so I am both excited to be involved and dreading it because DH has to run to work and might not make it back in time so I'll have to wrangle my son and vote at the same time (and voting isn't ballot, its by either show of hands or written yeah or nay).
Also we put the potty in DS's room for the first time last night. He peed in it before bed, and then when he woke up, he went and peed and pooped in his potty instead of going in his pull up! Perhaps a positive turn of events in the potty training world for us!
@flockofmoosen3 I did it for my 30th. Didn't spend any money on it or hire a photographer like I've seen online, but I took tongue-in-cheek photos with the chalkboard for dd, her leftover birthday balloons and props already around the house, the cake i made myself (not "smashed" just on a cake plate), and a bottle of champagne. Don't think it's any more or less ridiculous at 30/40/50/60 than at 1/2/3/4. To each their own.
