@lindsayleigh1989 I am ALWAYS confused. They must be going by weight, right? Tomatoes are probably heavier then bananas? This week I am a mango, but further behind you by a couple weeks, and a mango I would think is larger in size and heavier than the average tomato.
The fruit thing totally makes no sense because there is such variation...like a few weeks ago my baby was an avocado, but do they mean a haas avocado, or one of those really big ones? Tomatoes also come in all sizes.
@SmashJam@lindsayleigh1989 They go by length. I think your app might just be glitchy? The bump says banana(20w), endive(21w), then coconut(22w). Fun fact: at 21w they start counting the legs in the length measurement which is why it jumps from 6.5"(20w) to 10.5"(21w). Another fun fact: I have no idea what an endive is.... lol
@moguippy I didn't realize they start including the legs in the measurement at that point! I knew, in the beginning, it was crown to rump length and just assumed that's how they measured it all the way through. Interesting!
I did notice though that in the app it gives certain fruits/veggies and then the ticker that I have in my signature (also from the bump) will give a different one. Like this week (18 weeks) the app says artichoke and my ticker says sweet potato.

I got a haircut yesterday and I feel like a new woman! I was prepared to pay a certain amount but I was told Tuesdays are their "happy hour" so they offered a discount. I had not had a haircut since September!
I had a dr appointment yesterday and every time I go in, she comments on how active this baby is. She was laughing yesterday when she had her on the doppler, asking me if I could feel all of her movements. I feel a good amount of them, but I didn't even feel everything that I could hear on the monitor. She was the same way during my ultrasound last week. They could hardly get any good pictures of her because she wouldn't sit still My dr said we should look into a GPS monitor for her once she's born.

@stlmegs and @MichelleAG05 - not sure if it's reassuring or not, but they always called my DD a "wild child" or similar during appointments and she still kind of is lol but just at home! She's an angel at school and for other people. She used to attack the doppler and L&D monitors so hard they had to turn off the volume at the hospital and never stayed still for measurements. This one they have only called "cooperative" - he/she rolls closer to the doppler to make it easier and only wiggled out of view 1-2 times during NT.
@gingerbride26 yes, that is reassuring! I remember my son not liking the doppler also, and he's a pretty good kid, similar to your DD (wild at home, but really good for teachers/other people). I am glad to hear another story that I am not getting into more than I can handle here
Meagan Married 6.12.10 DS 11.8.12 Baby GIRL! due 7.4.18
My DD was never called a wild child during ultrasounds, but she definitely is both at home and school! LOL. She's just *very* active, highly curious and has a relatively short attention span. Hence why I'm hoping this one will be a little more calm!
STM question: does foot/shoe growth slow down? Last year I bought sandals 2 sizes too big and they fit great still at end of summer. But should I buy 1 or 2 sizes big this year? I feel like it's been 4-6 months since her foot went up a size. She's close to growing out of her 5s, but can still wear most of them.
Super exciting now. Just finished talking with my benefits lady and It looks like I might be able to avoid going back full time until the end of Jan! I’ll be full leave first 10 wks, off 3 days 6 weeks, and then off 2 days the rest of the time. I’m really hoping these plans work out!
edited, sorry if this sounds braggy. I just wish i had this available the first time around.
@MichelleAG05 lol I completely misread your post at first and I was about to be all girl your feet are NOT going to grow by 4 sizes during pregnancy!
My DD turned 2 in October and I have no idea when it slows down at this age. I buy some shoes each season without planning on reusing them next year. Plus, no matter how nice the shoes I feel like they get destroyed anyways.
@runsomewhere@MichelleAG05 I DID THE SAME THING. LOL I was really concerned for you until I read it again.. Growing 2 sizes per pregnancy My sons feet slowed down around 2, I’d say he goes up a half size every season since.
@MichelleAG05 my son is 2.5 and I have had to buy new shoes every year for every season, including this one. Some TOMS I bought last fall are still going to fit this spring and summer (thank god I don't usually buy TOMS for him but they had llamas...). But that is only 1 size. My kid is in a 9 and I have a family member who was in a 10 last year at roughly the same age-so her kids feet were growing way faster!
I was making a box cake and after mixing all the ingredients i noticed i forgot to add the oil. Ugh ok added. Finally ready for the pan and i start to pour DH who’s been watching me the whole time asks if i needed to grease the pan. Too late! Hopefully it doesn’t stick too badly.
Netflix has a show called The Mortified Guide and it's pretty funny and very relatable. Watching while I try to calm my stomach with a cottage cheese snack.
@moguippy I just googled it. Turns out there is an "N-Dive" which is related to the "on-dive" that we know as an endive. So here I think no matter how you pronounced it people would be equally as confused as to what the eff you were talking about since its an uncommon vegetable, but if you were in a place where both vegetables were available, you would ask for the "on dive" to get the "rocket shaped vegetable" that we know as endive in our stores. *thanks Huff Post!
So I was looking for a discussion on baby monitors because that's one of the last things we need on our registry (early shower). So I used the search function on the bump for the first time and I thought I found it and posted a reply... only to find out I was actually in June 18.... should have realized when I didn't recognize the usernames. That being said, did we have a discussion on baby monitors? Or will we be having one soon?
Thanks @acunamatada@runsomewhere@SmashJam! I want to go ahead and get her white sandals for Easter and summer, so trying to decide soon what size to get. Appreciate the input!
Also there is a concert on my due date that is 2 hours from my hospital. I have never gone into labor on my own, and always been induced almost 2 weeks post due date. I am thinking about buying tickets just to dare the universe to send me into labor before I have to get induced, lol.
@SmashJam My husband bought concert tickets for 2 days after my due date. Last go around I was induced 4/5 days after my due date (overnight) and I’m REALLY hoping to go sooner this time. Haha. Mostly jut so he misses the concert and I can say I told you so- am I a b*tch? Lol
@runsomewhere let the countdown begin! If baby hangs tight I’ll only be working through the end of June and taking some PTO before my section. Things are starting to feel real now.
@wildtot Right?! That does not seem like a lot of time at all! Most of us are on the other side of the 20 week hump now, babies are kicking and the November board is up. Time is flying by!
I got a bagel at a bagel store in the town we used to live near when I went to the DMV this morning. They had OREO CREAM CHEESE so i got an extra plain bagel for later and holy moly is the oreo cream cheese the best ever.
Speaking of Netflix shows, has anyone watched "Everything Sucks"? I have heard its pretty good from a few people and then someone at work told me it was awful. Now I'm confused....

I'm treating myself to lunch today and order delivery. I went for a walk by the Bay this morning and got my step goal so I can enjoy being home and working and not stress that DH took the car @lindsayleigh1989 great deal! We got ours on Craigslist and it was like new for $25!
I also got A BUNCH of stuff from a mom in my DH's company group yesterday. A Chicco key fit, 2 bases, the caddy, another playmat and a bunch of books. Seriously so grateful, and everything has been used for almost 6months! Now my mom can bring this extra car seat to Italy and even though we may just use it for one visit at least I won't have to travel back and forth with it.
Re: Randoms Pt. 1 2/26-27
@wildtot hope it all works out that would be awesome!!
I think you and I are due around the same time (22 weeks, right??) and my app said coconut.
