Please come vote on March Siggys! It's a tie right now and we need a few more votes to pick a category. Voting doesn't mean you have to play, just what would you like to look at for the next month
@hardlyhannah, staying motivated at work while pregnant is nearly impossible. I remember it well with my first two. I felt so useless. Luckily, I don’t think anyone ever noticed. But, I always felt guilty (just never guilty enough to actually get my shit done and ignore social media, the bump, googling birth stories, celebrity gossip, etc.)
And, Thanks all for the well wishes. I’m more sore from slipping than I anticipated! My foot, ankle, groin, lower back. But, nothing unbearable. The kids will definitely be getting more screen time today, though...
Sorry I've been MIA lately. I've been helping coordinate a big retreat today and it's been the biggest pain in the ass. Everyone RSVPd at the last minute (past the cut off to change food orders) so we are running out of food. my boss doesn't understand how time consuming the small details and logistics are, so he waits to respond until the very last minute so I'm scrambling to get stuff accomplished. I'm just sitting here by myself, literally hoarding food so I have something to eat in an hour when I'm starving again and there's nothing left. TGIF.
@juliebird6 Good to hear from you! That sounds rough. Can you get his credit card and order some more food? Nothing ruins a good event like not enough food/drinks.
Blueberry aren't the cheapest, but they're very durable, high quality, and will work from 12 pounds to potty training (unless you have a super plump toddler, lol). Customer service is great too. My sister got me hooked on them and I love them. Sometimes you can find bundles of unpopular print for good prices on Amazon, but the grab bag sales are usually the cheapest they go for. Once in the last two years they did a half off sale. It's confusing, I use the All in One Simplexes in Birdseye. Organic cotton is nice but a little more expensive. If you want to do covers and pre-folds their Capri and Coveralls get high reviews. They're very similar to Rumparooz covers. Tag me if you have any questions.
I'm so excited. My sons preschool may do a short four week program over this summer so I wouldn't have to stay with him full time for three months!! If enough people are interested they'll do it. Fingers crossed!!
I got my Babylist welcome box with the Kiinde starter kit. Did anyone use kiinde before and like it? The bags are a little pricey considering I get a gazillion Lansinoh bags for free with insurance. But not messing with bottles is tempting. The baby will get at least one bottle a day as long as she'll take one.
@coffeecocktailsandcake I wanted to love the Kiinde because the theory is amazing, but I ended up not using them at all. Then I thought I would use them for homemade pouches once we were past bottles, and HAHAHAHAHA he got store bought pouches. We really liked the bottle warmer by Kiinde though
August '18 March Siggy Challenge - You had ONE JOB
Ugh feeling like a bad wife. I forgot to fax in some of DH’s health forms yesterday from his surgery. Someone else was at the printer when I went to do it and so I thought I’d come right back, but of course I forgot. He is feeling well enough, so he went to go do it since I’m not at work today. He wasn’t upset, but he already makes a lot of comments about my memory, so I’m feeling bad about it
I found a super awesome deal on the kiinde products on zulily with DS2 so I got the whole starter kit thing and was so excited about it then never used them once. It was too much work and I needed bigger bags and yeah, it's a great theory but just didn't work for me.
I've ordered from patpat and the quality was pretty good, shipping took forever though.
DD has a play thing at school this afternoon and it’s basically blizzard conditions out but they didn’t cancel it. Ugh. So much fun to drag DS in and out of the car while being slammed in the face by snow and trying not to get blown away.
@jsnakehole I’ve also ordered from patpat and I love what I’ve ordered but like @calimom2524 the shipping is super slow. They really do have great deals though.
@coffeecocktailsandcake I used Kiinde and loved it. I didn't end up using the bottles in the set, I'd just warm up the bag and pour it into one of the two kinds of bottles DS would actually use, but it was so nice to store it in those, as I always ended up spilling some of the Lanisoh bags, and since I had a crappy supply, that usually involved tears I guess it works for people who have a medium supply, as I can see you'd fill up the bags too quickly if you have an oversupply. I really do adore their bottle warmer though.

I wanted to treat myself to a bowl of cereal, but instead grabbed some leftover veggies with rice. Just finished that, but now I still want the cereal. So, essentially, I’ve had two dinner and I’m going to have dessert...
On my way home from work I just started sobbing and basically I haven’t stopped. I can’t really figure out why. I’m wondering if maybe it’s not just because this week was so stressful and now it’s over and I can just let go. Also for some reason I find myself missing my ex husband like crazy right now and I can’t figure out why. I wish I could get it together.
I was skating at the rink, and they did the limbo. I competed against a bunch of kids and won! I also squished the crap out of my baby in the process, and I'm pretty sure I felt it move for the first time! It did not feel good, and I think my limbo days are over for a bit.

Ok. I think it was yesterday’s UO where I mentioned irresponsible spending by a certain person I know. Which is just frustrating to watch. I mentioned they were on the verge ALL THE TIME of getting their car repossessed and asking for money for help.
Welp. Their DisneyWorld trip is at the end of the month. And they called SO today and asked for the money to pay their personal property taxes. And I’m just floored. SO said no. And I’m proud of him for doing so. He’s usually pretty giving. But we are busting our tails to burn off debt before baby comes!
For the love of God. Skip Disney and get yourself caught up on bills. I would never say anything out loud. But just had to vent - especially since it was so ironic that I JUST MENTIONED IT. I know it sounds mean and judgy. And I should mind my own business. But they also are making it my business when they are asking us for money? Idk.

Tomorrow is my daughter’s birthday party at the skating rink. I will not be skating. Lol. My brother and I always get super competitive while skating and it almost always results in hard crashes. So. I’ll watch. And eat cake lol.
@dirtanddiamonds I agree that they made it your business when they asked for money. That is so frustrating! I have an acquaintance who can't afford her power bill, but is out at the club drinking $8 drinks every night if the week. I know because she posts every detail of her life on Facebook.

Hugs @calimom2524 sometimes we all just need a good cry. Relax this weekend, you made it through a week from hell and when things get really emotional or exhausting it's only natural to reminisce on old times. It's a defense mechanism. Your ex was a big part of your life and even though it went South don't beat yourself up for thinking of him. It will pass. Cuddle up with your boys this weekend and know you have support from the Aug 18 Mama's.
@dirtanddiamonds I feel like an appropriate response to that plea for $$ would have been, “You have the several grand to go to Disney, right? Then you obviously have the $$ to pay your taxes. Please use it responsibly instead of asking me for my hard-earned cash.”
@calimom2524 hell, I’ve been divorced for 9 years, had no children with my ex, and I still think back of certain times with fondness and even dream about him sometimes. Those feelings don’t just magically disappear. When someone was a big part of your life, obviously there were good times you had together. Those are very normal feelings.
Reminds me of a young woman on our local yardsale site always asking about banking advice, she's always overdrafted and can't afford the $35 overdraft fee, and then 3hrs later wanting to spend $100 on a puppy. Like, wtf.
@calimom2524, (hugs) I, too, have been way more emotional in the last week than the entire first trimester. Over nothing in particular today, it took a lot of willpower to get it stopped.

This. My ex is still a friend. We started out as best friends. We grew up together. Made babies. Even now I catch myself thinking how weird it is to not be having a baby with him. And comparing how he and SO do things differently. And sometimes I miss The way the ex did it. But I don’t miss the relationship lol. We were married 14 years. I don’t see how any person could love someone (get married and have kids with someone) and not always have a soft spot for them.
I got my baby box too, I was really looking forward to the tea collection coupon my sister got and was REAKLY bummed i didn’t get one il glad to try the kinde thing and we use Cetaphil. My kids never fit nb diaps so that can be saved for a doll lol. But man, I had plans for the tea coupon!!! Lol
Oh man @calimom2524... sending you imaginary wine and all the comfort food.

Your toilet fail pic reminded me of this one I took a few years ago. It was in a bar I was at with friends. I know sometimes girls like to take trips to the bathroom together but this isn’t what they have in mind, usually!!
We lost power at about 6pm last night, as did most of our town. It was crazy. The wind was and still is insane. DS woke at 11 so I just let him sleep with us. Haven’t done that it a while, it was kind of nice! Woke up at 5 and the power is back on!!!!! Yay!!!! So DH is up with him and I’m going to snooze a wee bit! Happy Weekend!!
@ecwk we lost power yesterday too from around 4-11 and DD went to stay with my parents (she does every Friday night) and we and my DH watched a movie together in bed, it was actually kind of nice and then thankfully the power came back right after my computer died so we could watch the end of the movie
Hugs @calimom2524 I’m sorry you’re dealing with so much right now. It’s ok to let yourself fall apart sometimes, you’re a super strong woman and you’ll get through this.
Thinking of everyone out east, I hope you are all warm and safe!
I just used stork parking at the mall. I felt a little guilty, but I am pregnant after all. And, I had DS2 with me and damn it, I wanted to park close to the door.
@F47 how is your foot and ankle today? And I totally use the stork parking at the grocery store! I have a toddler with me that is super easily distracted from walking and refuses to be carried plus pregnancy. No shame!
