@derbysquirrel I can't stand Mommy either. We do Mama and it works well so far @calimom2524 that sounds like a crazy wild night! I would have bailed, lol. Hope the missing dude figures it out and gets home okay!
@calimom2524 - your job kicks my boring job's butt! I hope you got all the kisses and cuddles from your boys when you got home!
@ecwk - erm, excuse me? How wildly uncomfortable that conversation must have been! Wild how people have like zero concept of boundaries!
One of the guys that I see every morning when I get to work looked at me this morning and said "must be getting close!" while patting his belly. Harumph. I adore the dude but seriously?!?
DS calls me mama and it's literally the best thing in the whole wide world. He's also started the ma ma ma ma ma ma ma... when he wants something and I'm not getting it fast enough. Still adorable.
@derbysquirrel you might have a different reaction when your child says it. All of a sudden my daughter started calling me Mom (that’s what I call my mom) and I am like oh no it is Mommy. She stills says Mom because she heard me call my mom that for the last 7 months while my mom was here. Mom seems so stale and mommy seems more loving.
DD1 never called me anything, not even ma or mama, until she could fully say mommy. I'm going to be sad when she starts calling me mom. She sometimes calls DH dad now instead of daddy and I'm sad about that too haha.
Haven't heard back from the crazy parents yet about their daughter having to re-do her project. I'm sure they'll do their usual- message me during class time and then get annoyed I didn't respond right away, and send me and my assistant principal emails. And when I don't respond to those right away, I'll get some text messages.
Four more weeks until spring break. I cannot wait.

Same! I love it. We play this "game" in the car where he will say "mama" and I will say his name back and we go back and forth doing it over and over, sometimes in funny voices. It cracks him up!
@jsnakehole - I was wondering about your nutjob parents! They're probably "helping" their daughter craft a 5 page long rebuttal for your reading pleasure.
+1 for loving seeing a new BMB start up. I've got some serious happy tears from lurking November
@derbysquirrel I was doing a YouTube prenatal glute workout the other day, and the chick kept saying, “You got this, Mommy!” and “Work for it, Mommy!” I wanted to reach through my phone and punch her. But, when my kids say it, it’s adorable.
Speaking of talking to the kids about the babies... I have a jacked up belly button from a pre-existing hernia that only got worse after two pregnancies. So, it’s a constant outie. The other day, DS1 (he’s 4) was rubbing my belly saying hi to the baby, then said, “I can feel her nose.” Ded.
My four year old says mommy. Or moooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom. Not a fan of the second one.
My 13 year old says MOM.
All my kids have gone thru a stage of calling dad by either his first name or “babe” because that’s what I call him. I think it’s funny. He never does. They’re just copying mommy. Lol.
Were working on correct names for authority/relatives here. DS is good at remembering names but not so good at aunt/Uncle/miss for teachers. Anyone have tips other than just repetition?

We’re dealing with the same thing. He keeps calling his teachers by their first name at home and I just keep on putting a Ms. in front of it. I have no idea how to get him to add it though. He doesn’t say Aunt or Uncle either.
Ggaaahhhh!!!!! My phone broke so I had it replaced under the warranty. I returned the old phone. Verizon is saying I didn't return it and is charging me $500!!!!!!! What do I do???? I threw away the tracking number after they received it!!!! I'm freaking out!
@coffeecocktailsandcake - oh no! I'm sorry! How did you return it? If you went to some place like UPS I think they might be able to look it up in the system. Can you pull the tracking number from your email or browser history?
It was UPS, and I bet I could narrow down to a few days that I returned it. It was about six weeks ago. I can't find the tracking number anywhere I'm so pissed at myself.
@coffeecocktailsandcake Have you gone through your computer browser history to around the date and see if you can pull up where you checked the tracking and saw it was delivered? Maybe you can get the tracking number off that, it's usually in the URL iirc.
It's not ( tears. I went to the eamil that Verizon sent me saying it was on it's way to me but it didn't have the return tracking information. It was a prepaid label they sent. I'm going to talk to them after I get home tomorrow to see if they have the tracking number since they are the ones that sent it to me but they're such butts that I doubt I'm going to get anywhere and this is going to be such a pita.
@coffeecocktailsandcake Ugh. But yeah if they can pull their collective heads out they should be able to look it up in their own system since they're the ones who sent you the label. But that's Verizon for you. We cancelled our 16 year old account with them this past January and went with Page Plus. Same network and phones, but so much cheaper for us.
Total random. I love Howard Stern and yesterday he interviewed Jennifer Lawrence, whom I also love. Finally have a few minutes to listen and eat lunch and it’s basically the best (only) alone time I’ve had in ages.
Ugh. I just passed gas that I'd been holding in for a while in my office only to have a coworker knock on my door 2 seconds later. Was tempted to pretend I wasn't there, but instead I let him come in and experience my stink. Is it the weekend yet?!
@doctormom33 I totally did that this morning too - I just quickly grabbed some scented lotion while we were talking and slathered that on hoping it masked the stench hahaha
I got a message from day care that they painted bumble bees with the kids' feet, so if they get home and their feet are yellow, that's why. I have this incredible urge to go get him rightthissecond because I want to see his bumble bee!!! I get ridiculously excited about the art projects they send home
The best part about being in a room full of kids- there's always someone to blame a fart on. One of my kids was hysterically laughing yesterday and I asked him what was up, and he finally managed to giggle out "I just farted!"

I just almost passed out while voting in the Texas primary. I had to sit down on the floor. Definitely blacked out for a second. It was hot as hell in there and he electronic ballots were at an awkward angle. I also have severe sinus pressure, so I’m sure that contributed. I made sure to tell them I’m pregnant, because I’m in a room with a bunch of old people, yet I’m the one wimping out

This sucks to hear. This happend to me at a homebody we went to see at an open house. Their AC was broken and I thought I was going to die because the realtor wouldn’t stop talking and we were there for what felt like forever. Good thing I had water in the car because I don’t think I would have made it. That was definitely a absolute no for us. You don’t hold an open house for potential buyers when the ac is broken. Not a good look for the sellers or the realtor.
Just got an email from my union that there was a "stalemate" bargaining for paid maternity leave. Which means the people up top didn't want to give up their raises. I knew it wouldn't pass in time for this baby, but I was hoping for the next one.

@lalala2004 Ugh! I feel for you, I don't deal well with hot, stuffy environments either. I hope you feel better soon! The sinus pressure is no joke right now, I wish this low pressure system would move on and stop making my face ache.
I was ordering cakes yesterday. Just standing there and I had an overwhelming hot flash. Or whatever it was. I started taking my coat off. Sweater. Down to a tank top. The baker was like you ok. And I’m like yes. I’m pregnant. Lol. She got me a chair. Took me a good 10 minutes to cool off. But I didn’t pass out or anything. @lala2004 sorry that happened. So scary.
@lalala2004 I'm sorry! I have felt like I'm going to pass out a few times during this pregnancy, most recently was this morning at Babies R Us. I was looking around for a chair to sit down in when the feeling thankfully passed.

@amac12999 The teachers seem fairly important to get right, but I've never called my aunts and uncles by anything other than their names. No one in my family uses aunt and uncle as titles. Your call on whether or not that's a battle worth fighting.
DH had his oral surgery this morning. It took 5 hours. They forgot to apply my discount when they ran my credit card, so they voided it and it was declined when they ran it the second time. I had to call my bank and have them manually override the first charge to free up the balance because this was a $8000 charge, and I don't have the balance to run that amount twice. It was easy on the phone, and the representative was friendly and helpful. Then when we went to run my card again the receptionist gave me a 10% discount for the trouble! I think being polite and understanding earned me $800 for a 10 minute inconvenience.
DH is totally stoned, and has been sleeping since we got home. He had to take a Vicodin, which was dicey when he tried to handle the cup of water, and now it's time for his antibiotic. We'll see if he can find his mouth this time.
UPDATE: He found his mouth, and got up to go to the bathroom. Then he started wandering around, found his pills, started opening them, and tried to take another Vicodin which he just had 2 hours ago. I stopped him and redirected him back to the couch. He's now drinking an Ensure, and it seems to be going ok. He's still pretty out of it, but doesn't seem to realize how out of it he is.

@lalala2004 ugh that's such an awful feeling! I was at a funeral a couple of weeks ago and was sitting down and had that feeling that room was hot and I had to go to the lobby and lay down on a couch for a while. I hope it doesn't happen any more to you
