My print showed up. My friend out in WA sent it to me. From a Canadian artist. A mom and her four daughters. It’s been a happy tear-filled day. And look! We are at our pond! Lol!!
I just realized that I have the Closing Ceremony from the 2016 Summer Olympics still saved on my DVR, so now I'm taking a break from the Winter Olympics to finish the Summer Olympics! I wonder how long it will take me to finish the Winter Games.

Venting. My bras are starting to all be super uncomfortable by the afternoon.
Lovetit for solidarity. I've been wanting to go get some new ones but the thought of trying on new bras is exhausting.

Apologies for the self pity ahead. I haven’t been able to catch up because this has been an awful day so far.
I have a student who has progressively gotten worse behaviorally this year. He is the definition of a bully and as a new-ish teacher, I’ve tried various things to try and nip it in the bud. Calling parents, natural consequences, sitting him alone, involving administration and the guidance counselor, removing him from peer groups and partner work. Nothing is working.
Today, a parent called to complain and ended up having their child removed from my class completely due to the bullying. I feel dreadful and like this is my fault. Like I let my student down by not doing enough. But I literally don’t know what else I can do.
I truly wish I could drink tonight. Guess I’ll have to substitute with copious amounts of chocolate.
@msmonalisavito I'm sorry. That's really hard. My parents were both teachers, and I know how much 'emotional work' you do at home (on top of actual work you have to bring home). If you're doing everything you can, that's as much as you can do. I realize you came here for empathy and not necessarily advice, but is there any 'next step' type protocol for something like this at your school? Is it possible to remove this individual from the class since he's clearly negatively impacting others?

I was making stroganoff on one burner, and spaghetti sauce on the other when I realised I was in a bit over my head. I think I salvaged everything, and it's all simmering away on the stove now. Next time I'll have to prep better! I'm so tired all of the time, that I didn't want this burst of cooking motivation to pass, so I bit off a bit more than I could chew.

I’m sorry you’ve been going through that! It’s one of the invisible aspects of teaching, I think, the mental toll. But this is NOT your fault! You’ve done everything in your power to corrrct the situation so please don’t feel responsible. I feel as though administration should have stepped in here to a higher degree and taken further steps. I’m sorry hun. Huge hugs!
My son was diagnosed with the flu today. I'm thinking of asking for tamiflu now since I've been exposed. Has anyone taken it pregnant? Makes me nervous!

I’m pretty sure a couple of the ladies here have taken it. Check with your doc/pharmacist if you’re unsure!
@msmonalisavito that’s such a tough situation, but as others above said this is not on you as a teacher. You’ve done everything you can to address the situation and there’s only so much you alone can do. Hugs and you deserve all the chocolate!.
@msmonolisavito what is the school doing about this. It seems like you have exhausted all channels is the admistration helping you at all. And I agree with everyone else this is not your fault. You are definitely attempting to correct the issue it just isn’t helping.
Thanks ladies, the comments are comforting. Our administration is....not supportive and I truly feel that this may have been their solution so the parent would stop complaining.
I saw the counselor today and she’s going to recommend behavioral support for the “problem” child and we’ll go from there. But yeah, this is exhausting.
@Funnygirl34 I took tamiflu when my DD has the flu 3 weeks ago. It was approved by my ob, the only downside is it made me super nauseous!! Make sure you take it with lots of food
@Funnygirl34 a bunch of students in my class had the flu so I was on Tamifiu for a week. I threw up the first night I took it, so I started taking it as I was falling asleep- like eyelids heavy, can't stay up anymore levels of tired.

@Funnygirl34 my DS had the flu a couple of weeks ago and I chose not to take the tamiflu. I’ve heard the side effects are horrible and some of the articles I’ve read are just scary so for me it wasn’t worth it. I ended up not getting the flu so it is possible.
Ditto to what @calimom2524 said. DS has the flu around the same time as hers. I chose not to take Tamiflu due to side effects I had heard others have. I never got sick either.
@Funnygirl34 I got the flu from my son and took 2 1/2 days of tamiflu and called my doctor and said I couldn’t finish it. It was making me feel worse than the actual flu because I couldn’t keep anything down.
Last school day before vacation! Normally February break isn't such a big deal to me, but this year it feels much needed. I just want to sleep and regroup for the five week push to spring break.

@jsnakehole - YAY! I hope it flies by for you! So someone needs to either talk some sense into me or take away my credit cards because I went on a bit of a shopping spree at Carters. Twice. Send help.
@Brezzy1928 So whenever I bump mobile and see your little avatar pic I think it is the scary guy from the Saw movies. Which I figured it wasn't so I clicked on your profile to see what it is and I see it is from Voyage dans la Lune - I have watched that with some classes - neat!!!
Anyone here sell Younique? I just bought the lash set from a friend (serum + mascara + fibers), but now I'm wondering if the serum is safe to use during pregnancy?

@ecwk I went to film school for 2 years and first watch it there. I love it. Plus I love the moon in general. Did you watch the color version? It was on Netflix awhile ago. It was neat.
You guys. Our board is the best. I always lurk the other boards and they are SO BORING. I like that we actually talk about important things during UOs and that our FFFCs spark interesting conversations. Thank you all for having opinions and personalities!
I am annoyed I can’t figuree out how to change my little picture thingy. I don’t have a computer and it doesn’t look like there is a way to do it on the phone or app.
