@doctormom33 Thanks for the info! I'm always fascinated to learn how things work. Like when my dad had his heart attacks and then going through severe CHF and all of the drugs they were putting him on, I swear I lived in medical encyclopedias and Wikipedia learning about how all of the things work together.
The fact that glyburide increases my insulin production seems kind of counter-intuitive since I already have it in spades, but it's just not being utilized. And it maybe irrationally worries me that it'll make my pancreas just say, "I give up" even sooner. I'm not even sure if that's a possibility, but pancreatic fatigue is something I've heard tossed about on some diabetic forums I've lurked on.
Also, how in the holy hell do women get their hair to curl like that in the picture? I'm so jelly. I've tried umpteen times to get that "beach waves" look going, since my naturally curly/wavy hair likes to do whatever it wants and never cohesively, and within 20 mins all of my beautiful curls fall out. Doesn't matter if I use hair spray or not. I can straighten my hair just fine, but unless I'm spraying so much spray on that my hair is stiff, it never holds curls.
As it is my hair is down past my bra strap and the last 5 inches or so look so fried and frizzy. And my hair has finally started growing back in after my miscarriage in July (I was literally losing chunks of hair). I need a hair cut bad, and I've always had long hair, but I want to try something different. But I don't think I'd look good with short short hair either, and yet I still want something I can pull back because I hate having hair in my face when I'm doing something. Decisions decisions. Sigh.
I've been teaching about Sub-Saharan Africa in my geography class this week, and every time we mention or read about Mt. Kilimanjaro or the Serengeti I get Toto's Africa stuck in my head.
@coffeecocktailsandcake - ugh, I had to stop hanging with a girlfriend that did that exact same thing. I don't want to feel like I have to bring my checkbook to hang out with you!
Say that you've got a killer headache. If she knows you're pregnant she'll know you can only take Tylenol and Tylenol sucks.
@livinthesunnylife - LOL! That's exactly what I thought too! @neeraja_k - so weird to see you post about long hair because in my mind you have a really bad ass short cut!
@neeraja_k I have always had the same curl problem until I discovered this curl tool thing at Sally Beauty. You basically grab a section of hair, put it in, then it automatically curls it up for you and beeps when it's time to release it. It makes it SUPER curly but then I brush them out and boom, wavy beachy curls that last.
I am super jealous of all of you ladies who can dye your hair purple or other non-natural colors. I work at a pretty conservative law firm and it would certainly be a no no. My hair is so gray on top right now and I cannot wait until 2nd trimester so I can go back to dyeing it. I feel like all anyone sees when they look at me is my grey hair.
@calimom2524 we need to know the name of this magic device!
AFM my day is a total bust because of the stupid shutdown that's not really a shutdown. I'm thinking of just calling it a day and starting my weekend a little bit earlier than I planned...
Ok so here's a random. Does anyone else get like a one off chin or neck hair? I have a neck hair that I can feel right now and I've been trying to pull it out all day and I have been unsuccessful. Maybe my day is just super slow, but this is a big deal in my world right now.
@calimom2524 yaaaaas girl, totally. And my hair is so fine that half the time they get stuck and can't get through the skin. So if I ever have a zit, it probably isn't really a zit.
@calimom2524 Yes! All my chin acne is because of hair. So, so annoying. I'm constantly plucking my chin hairs. They are basically whiskers, and I'm essentially a 75 year old man.

I'm not hairy on my chin, but my pores are HUGE, like can see them from several feet away. I always get these nasty blackheads there. Any tips?

Mine are too and I have no idea how to fix it. I tried some expensive face shit from an MLM and it did nothing. I basically quit. I will have a 75 year old man face with @juliebird6.
@calimom2524 Thanks to my dear old friend PCOS, I've been having to shave my chin and midway down the front of my neck every day.
My hair color is too light for laser treatments to work, the Rx Vaniqua that slowed it down was too expensive without insurance since it wasn't "medically necessary", and plucking would take me all day. I'm not sure if you can wax actual whisker type hairs there (I've never heard of men getting their beards waxed), but having my brows done is ridiculously painful as it is.

This is one of those times I want to love tit your post but I can't because I don't love that you have PCOS but I do love the solidarity of woman facial hair.
@neeraja_k I paid for the vaniqua (with costco discount and a coupon they let me use) and honestly it doesn't really help. It just caused me to get more ingrowns.
Btw, I look horrible in pictures so I try not to appear in too many of them unless caught by accident. But I'll work on that in the near future for you guys. At this point the best picture I have of myself is me sitting in a tree stand wearing camo. heh
gahhhhh! I've had that wax used on *ahem* other areas of my body and it was torture. The kind where they rip the paper stuff off is so much faster and hurts way less. I mean it still hurts but it goes away faster.
Okay. So late to the party. But. I do hombre. Helps hide grays and low maintenance imo. Although being a natural brunette, it’s difficult to keep the brassy down. Prolly the biggest pain. Anyway, I couldn’t figure out beach waves but then my beautician taught me how to a basic curl then pull on it. My beautician did these for me. There’s videos on YouTube. I don’t do them often cuz it’s more work. I’m usually like (just regular curls) this:
Now I REALLY badly want this product. I am debating whether I will ever actually take the time to use it... maybe for special occasions. I want to buy it like right this second!
How do we go about culling the EDD spread sheet? We have 205 people and I think I can pick out like ~20-30 that I actually know. any suggestions of when/how to trim that down?

I'd be afraid that contraption would eat my hair, and I'd never get it out...like the auto-spinning brush curler thing my mom tried on me when I was a kiddo back in the 80's.
@princesslockness I think we just chill a tiny bit longer and then we move this party private. I have thought it was fun a few times to respond to the introductions to see if said people ever come back..... crickets.

@alinafed these lasted for two days. TWO DAYS. That was crazy.
