@neeraja_k Gah that sucks. Sorry to hear about the glucose test. How long will they give the new meds + diet/exercise to work before you would have to do the injections?
@neeraja_k aw I’m so sorry to hear that. Hopefully they’re able to figure out how to keep it under control without having to do insulin injections.

@neeraja_k First off, thanks for the information. I didn’t mean to pry but I really know nothing about it and I know there’s a handful of ladies that end up dealing with it. So, I’ve always been curious.
My dad is on a pill that allows him to keep driving professionally, because if he went to insulin, he’d had to give up his CDL. I don’t completely understand his situation, either, but I know it’s a constant struggle. He has an annual physical and he’s always worried this is the year he fails. And just seeing what he goes through, I can’t imagine.
You’re in my prayers. I’m really sorry you are dealing with all this!!
Sorry @neeraja_k I hope you get some answers as to the best course of action for you! I'm on Metformin too and was told I can (but I do not have to) stop taking it now. My midwife said it is no longer necessary. Though you and I may be on it for different reasons.
I know we have a lot of snapchat hate in here but my friends showed me the geo location thing where you can basically watch snaps from all over the world. DH and I were watching snaps from the Olympics, from Australia, from India, from Florida. It's sort of creepy but very entertaining!
@lolog531 - have an amazing trip! @roadspeckle - all the hugs for you and DD! I'm so glad you guys are home. I'm guessing you know this but I'm going to say it anyway, it's totally normal to be nervous. You're doing everything right for your little. I hope you both get some rest today. If you can, update us after the follow up. Thinking of you both @neeraja_k - I'm so sorry. GD / diabetes is a pain but it's totally manageable. And it sounds like you've already made the right moves to control your sugars. I hope that the plan that the high-risk doc comes up with works for you. Let me know if you you want to chat or vent. This sucks but you'll get through.
I'm so behind!!! I took a PTO day yesterday cuz I was feeling like crap from this cold still and I ended up spending 3 hours of my day at the DMV. There's a special place in hell for the DMV.
Hello ladies! Sorry I’ve been so mia, every time I would try to catch up the app would act up and then it was on the fritz where I couldn’t reply to anything, just majorly messed up and I was in no mood to figure it out ha. My ob appointment went well a couple weeks ago, everything was measuring properly and even though I’m due in September my ob agreed since I’ll have to be another c/s that she’ll probably schedule it early (so back to August) and I’m going to get my tubes tied while they’re in there. This morning sickness has really amped up even though she put me on diclegis and it’s just kicking my ass. I’m miserable 24/7 and the surprise throwing up out of no where with no warning is making it hard to get much of anything done. So between feeling Uber crappy and the app acting up I’ve been laying low in here. Hugs and love where needed for anything I’ve missed!
If I miss them for 1 day, 'eh maybe they were just active on threads I'm not part of.' More than 2 days, I start to message them. or tag and ask if anyone has seen them.

I will start by saying, while recovering from a several-day bug is not a good time to take a selfie, but does anyone want to give me ideas of what to do with my hair (cut + colour) at my next appt? I was liking the blonde but I am thinking I should do something more low-maintenance with another little one coming. I was also going to go shorter but if I'm going to gain a lot of weight the coming months maybe I should wait till baby is out to chop it off. Any ideas? (Disregard current disheveled state, I am still feeling pretty sick today and like I should be home and not at work, bleh.)
@neeraja_k sorry to here about your results. Sounds like your doctor is on top of things though and managing things early, which is good. Heads up if you do go on glyburide, it works by increasing your endogenous production of insulin so there is a bigger risk of going hypo than with something like metformin which decreases liver glucose production and makes you more sensitive to the insulin you already have. Probably unecessary info but there it is. I am not an OB, so I do not know the particular details of why they would switch you.
@roadspeckle hope you guys are getting some rest today!
@alinafed Girl, if that's your "sick" look...you'd die if you saw my every day look. Your eyebrows are on point. Anyway though, what about like a balyage and adding a bit more dark to your hair? Then you can let the roots just happen and it will look like it's supposed to be like that. You won't have to get it colored all the time.
@alinafed - you don't look disheveled at all! So how much maintenance is currently going in to the blonde? What is your natural color? If you're a natural brunette I would say to have her start adding more brown / low lights during your next appointment and see what you think. As far as the length, were you thinking of going short short or just chopping off a few inches?
I didn't even intentionally take the day off but I decided to basically sleep all day and then when I was at the DMV I was just listening to my book.
@princesslockness it wasn't that bad, no, it was just a little intense. I would have chimed in for some of that convo had I been here yesterday but I feel like to chime in now is just kinda beating a dead horse. Also, your old SN looks hella familiar, were you in the D14 BMB?
@alinafed I like your hair blonde! And also, if that's disheveled, I'd hate to show what I look like disheveled lol

This is with 3 months of growth and you can see the roots I find. When I had more balayage I could go a bit longer, like 4 months or I probably could have stretched it even longer except for needing a trim of course. I know I COULD leave baby but I am already thinking, it would be great if I could stretch my next apt to 5 months from now so it's right before baby comes, and then I won't have to go again until she is like 3 or so months old so I would be more comfortable leaving her. Yes I know I probably shouldn't worry so much about leaving her but my hair appointments take 3+ hours usually so it would be a long time, and my babies never seem to like bottles very young.
I was thinking of kind of a long bob, longer in the front than the back. And my natural colour is a SUPER dark ashy blonde.
@alinafed - I love the long bob! My only question would be is it long enough in the front to pull out of your face? I have to rock the ponytail basically until they're 1 because even tiny hands pulling hair hurts! The time commitment is tough, maybe talk with your stylist about longer timeframe options? Also I dove down the google rabbit hole after @lakesideknitter mentioned the shadow root balayage and that's such a pretty look!
OK so maybe I could keep the bottom quite blonde and aim for something like this then (the top is basically exactly my natural colour). Thanks ladies! (Ugh sorry I have tried attaching this multiple ways so it's not huge but I have a feeling it will be)
@calimom2524 I was a August '15, and December '16. I did lurk more then, and probably flamed the 'i'm 8 weeks and totes showing and feeling this fetus move' crap that popped up.

How can you spend 3 HOURS on a hair appointment? I have never spent more than 30 minutes and even that kills me to sit through, so I just cut my own now.

@princesslockness All of my hair appointments fall in the 2-3 hour range. If you are getting a cut plus any type of color treatment, it takes that long just to get the color on and then settled. Then you still have to wash/cut/style.
@alinafed your hair looks really pretty. I agree about going for an ombre/balayage (sp) style so that it is low maintenance. That's what I had when I had DS and I didn't get it redone for months and it didn't look bad. I have since gone back to my natural colour though - even less maintenance! Wahey! I would not cut it short! You need to be able to tie it up! It's far easier than having short hair that you actually have to style. A long bob could work though, if you can still do a pony.
I second @mrsbubbles-2 on either having it too short to grab or be able to put in a ponytail. Even tiny baby hands are strong enough to hurt when they pull your hair.
My longest hair appointment to date is 6 hours but they're usually more 3-4. I have A LOT of hair and the times I've done something super dramatic have taken a long time. For the super long ones for me it's usually because I'm making a huge change so I need to bleach first then wash then she does the color that has to sit then wash and cut, dry, style.
I am praying that my hair never goes grey so I never have to color it. Or it holds off until an acceptable age for me to just keep it grey. Hair color is so much maintenance. I get a cut twice a year a year and it takes less than an hour.
I also haven't blown it dry or styled it myself since DD1 was born. Thank god it is naturally straight.
@delujm0 - I let my natural color grow back about 3 years ago and I'm so happy I did. I used to just get the low lights and it was so time consuming for such a subtle change.
I dye the underside of my hair purple every couple of months and I love it. Personally I'm too paranoid to do it while pregnant (I know they can do it safely it's literally a paranoia thing) but I'm definitely going to do it again after the baby is here.

You can join @rocknrollmom and I on team purple hair
However I'm totally still doing it while pregnant. My hair stylist told me she asked her OB when she was pregnant if it was safe for her to be around the chemicals all the time and her OB basically said as long as you aren't eating the dye you're safe. I know it's a personal preference but her comment made me laugh.
I also wouldn’t cut short. Too hard to pull back and usually shorter hair means more upkeep/trims. Longer hair can usually go longer in between appts and definitely if you do some low lights balayage and keep the blonde on the ends. My sister is a hair stylist and any color appt is at least 3 hours, but she can make it last a long time
Beautiful hair!!!! My hair is a wreck, lol. I was blessed with thin wispy hair....never has been one of my assets.
What is a believable lie as to why I can't go to my neighbors bunco party tonight? I never gave her a hard yes. I really just don't want to go. I want to stay home bloated and eat clementines.
@coffeecocktailsandcake SO/Pet is sick. You had to start some anitbiotics this afternoon from an emergency doc app. can't go anywhere for 24 hours after your first dose.

I originally told her I'd come as long as my husband got home in time. His schedule is all over the place. I actually asked him last night if he'd stay late he wouldn't. I thought about saying something about my son having a fever...just wish I had something that didn't sound so easy to make up....I wish my husband just was stuck at work!!! Actually I wish she would just quit inviting me to ish. She always has those hosted parties and invites me and for two years I've declined them all.
