I'm still getting a faint positive on pregnancy tests, so who knows when I'd O, but I guess I go here! I'll start using OPKs after my first AF because I don't want to get pregnant before that. It didn't turn out well the last time I have never looked forward to getting a negative like this....
I’m still hanging around WTO, as well. CD9, finished my clomid on Wednesday. Monitoring appointment Monday and then hopefully O somewhere around CD13-14. I’m hoping RE will let us continue on clomid/TI for a few more months. After my lap he said a few more cycles with clomid and then he wants us to move on to IVF. I need more time to wrap my brain around that...
@chelletn All of the acronyms are so confusing at first!
@bakerstreetboys I know what you mean about hoping for a negative test. TW After my first MC it took what seemed like forever for the HCG to be out of my system. End TW
@cassafrass15 what about trying femara? They can also use stronger drugs with femara. Basically I think they prep you for IVF but then can do TI or IUI. I take femara and then add Gonal f in few days after I start femara. That would give you more of shot I think before moving to IVF
I’m pretty sure I got this article from here maybe a year ago, but I wanted to pass it on because I think it’s a beautiful and inspiring piece of writing about TTC. It also was excellent to send to people as a sort of glimpse into why this is such a hard process.
Ugh HCG came back yesterday at 45 still! Thought I was good since I'm not getting positives on hpt's now. So discouraging. So I guess I'm still here. Hopefully this means now I'm in the final days before the big O.
Well AF decided to show up 2 days early (leaving me with a frustratingly short LP for me). DH and I are sitting this cycle out. Timing wouldn't be good and I REALLY just need a mental break from it all. I'll be lurking occasionally but not very active this month. GL this month to you all!
@lin0442 That article is amazing. It explains it so perfectly. Thank you for sharing it. Also, didn't want to bump up the January WTO thread, but I was a few days behind and wanted to say I'm so sorry you're back here. ((hugs)) @kikimi83 45? Holy cow! What kind of HPTs have you been using? That's so weird that they've been negative. I hope it drops soon. @Kath525 So sorry about the short LP and wonky cycle. Hopefully the mental break this next month will be good for your sanity. @bakerstreetboys FX you start getting negative tests soon so you can get back in the game! @cassafrass15 Good luck this cycle! Hope your monitoring appointment goes well.
AFM- I'm on CD9 and finished up all my RE testing as of yesterday. My HSG was normal along with most of my blood work, though my FSH was borderline a little too high, but they're not worried about it yet. It was neat watching the dye running through my tubes! Now just waiting on the rest of my blood work results. I'll have another appointment with the RE in about 2 weeks to go over everything.
@offtoneverland I know!! I was kind of hoping maybe they'd dropped and risen again from a new pregnancy but the hpt hasn't changed. They claim to pick up from 25 so who knows! At least I've gotten a clear negative so I'll know if it does go back up now. Science is pretty cool. That's maybe the only thing I've gotten from this whole experience. Our bodies do some pretty amazing things and work together pretty incredibly to prepare for babies. It's nuts. The dye sounds really interesting! Fx!
Still waiting for the side effects of clomid to leave my system. This will be my 3rd day off. They said the half life is 5 days. I hope every day improves and I'm myself again soon.
I decided when im totally better I'm going to treat myself to a little shopping.
I bought a 3 day gentle detox from vitamin shoppe today to really get the clomid out of my system. Now I know why I like to stay away from meds. GL to all your girls!
Just started a chemical pregnancy loss today. So I’m now here waiting to O who knows when that will happen. It’s already been a long month I got my BFP for 1 day before it was taken away. Hopefully this month is better.
@Mack2342 That’s a great idea to ask about femara + gonal-f. I didn’t know you could do both! Thank you!
@offtoneverland So glad your HSG was a breeze. And I, too, was fascinated watching the dye when I had mine!
@vlagrl29 Sorry the clomid side effects are still plaguing you! It made me a little moodier than normal this month - openly weeping at commercials was a weird experience for me.
@Kath525 Sorry about AF. Be kind to yourself and enjoy your break. Sometimes you just need to have one.
@lin0442 What a wonderful read. Thank you for sharing, and I am sorry that you find yourself back here.
@cassafrass15 I didn’t know about other med either. Before I got pregnant last time I did 3 rounds of femara and when I started the 3rd round the RE (who is not mine, I just see whichever one is available for the day) says ask about stronger meds if this one doesn’t work. There were either 2 or 3 different meds that can be added. I can’t recall the other names. Basically they had me check with insurance to see which one was covered. They both were so I just picked one. It is injections daily for about 5 days. So we did 3 rounds of that and then got a BFP. My body did better when we added Gonal f. I hoping it does the trick again
@cassafrass15 - I got the rare side effects lucky me not! starting a gentle cleanse today. How long before you felt yourself again? I've pretty much decided I need a mental break from all this. Going back to my naturopath this week on Wens. I cherish my mental health way too much. And the thing was I was doing really well with everything and before I did this I told myself I didn't want anymore emotional roller coasters and this is a big one for me.
Back at CD 1! But I’m kinda excited because it will be the first cycle working with my RE to conceive. Femara, midcycle u/s, one shot to trigger, and another for luteal support here I come!!!
@cassafrass15 I hope you are able to try all the options you want to try before IVF. I totally get it, moving to IVF is such a big jump, you need time to mentally prepare and accept it. I am still working on accepting that in four months we will very likely be moving to IVF. @vlagrl29 I'm sorry for all the side effects and I hope that you feel better soon.
AFM CD3 here today. My new acupuncturist wants me to try some herbs but I am leaning towards trying nothing at all (just doing some acupuncture) and just seeing what happens these next three cycles. I really stressed myself out and had my hopes up that clomid would somehow be our miracle drug for a sticky bean.
I finally got a BFN this morning! I never thought I'd be so happy to see only one line. Now who knows how long it will be until I O. I'm seeing my family doctor this afternoon for a referral to the fertility clinic, so I at least feel that things are starting to happen. I am NOT good at waiting....
@zamora_spin - this was the first time in a week I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I actually had a full nights sleep but my body just feels exhausted. I started my detox this morning. I've been having hot flashes at night and last night my heart was racing. I believe it's coming out of my system. I'm still undecided on Femara - I may try it but I'll be asking the doc a lot of questions about it. But DH and I have talked after I dry heaved yesterday that we will probably just stick with the natural method but I'm not going to track or anything. I just kinda want to live my life.
Guess I'm back here. Was sort of wishful thinking that maybe I'd O'd sometime around when my hCG dropped. Was at 45 on Thursday then started spotting yesterday. I'm almost 100% sure AF is officially here so I don't think I ever actually did. It's the first AF since my MC which is just hard, kind of feels like I'm reliving it. But I know this good, my body is finally doing what it needs to so hopefully I will actually ovulate soon. I've always been kind of early in my cycle so FX it'll happen next week! No more guessing. That's something positive, right? It just feels like mooooore waaaaaiiiiiting.
@zamora_spin I know all REs are different, but when I asked mine about acupuncture, she said she was fine with it but requested that I don't take any herbs. Of course you should do whatever you feel comfortable with. I don't know anything about herbs or what they do! @bakerstreetboys Hope your cycle stays pretty close to normal now that you got a negative test! Hope O's not too far away.
@Mack2342 Thanks again for the good info! I’ll have to check to see what’s covered under my insurance.
@vlagrl29 Sorry to hear about your rare side effects! My side effects on clomid were pretty mild in comparison, and are usually gone 2-3 days after I’m done taking the clomid.
AFM, went for my midcycle monitoring appointment yesterday and had some giant follicles (3) ready to pop. They gave me the trigger and so we’ll hopefully O within the next 36hrs, but we DTD last night just in an abundance of caution. Looks like there’s a lot of BDing in my immediate future!
@cassafrass15- glad your appt went well. I get a check tomorrow even though I didn't finish the pills. My nurse did mention I had some pretty profound side effects. I guess it just effects everyone differently. I had a great day yesterday so that was promising. Hoping that once I Ovulate things will level out. I'm CD11 right now.
@offtoneverland@cassafrass15 Thanks ladies. I had thought about asking my RE and then decided I was leaning towards "no" anyway. I tried to do my own research on the blend the acupuncturist wanted me to take and I couldn't really find much -- I has hoping for at least a bunch of message board people saying, "these worked wonders" or "these really screwed up my cycle," and I couldn't really find either, so, I don't want to be a guinea pig. I think if we were going to be trying on our own for longer I would maybe give them a go but since we only have a few more cycles I want to see what my body does on its own.
@Mack2342 He said to BD every day for the next 3 days just to be safe, but with the size of the left-side follicle and the trigger I’ll likely ovulate today.
@vlagrl29 So glad that you are feeling better! For what it’s worth, when I took femara with my last RE I had zero side effects AND it was covered on my insurance because it’s not primarily coded for fertility.
@zamora_spin Yea, if I was back at the beginning of this process I might try the herbs. But now that I feel I’m finally responding to the meds and my cycles are finally regulating, I’m too afraid to mess it up!
I had the U/S on my ovaries today and I have 1 that measures at 30 and the other 2 measure at 11/12 which are immature and she said will be reabsorbed. That 1 that is dominant is probably the one I always produce every month. She said the other 2 would have prob matured if I had finished my dose. Good to know all is well inside there and my lining is ok too. Welp that was my little short journey down the medicated TTC route. Glad to put a close to that. Meanwhile DH was talking about hosing down that 1 big follicle with his sperm.
@Mack2342 - it actually gives me nausea. How could someone be in the mood to BD with the side effects I've had. Let's just say I feel at peace with everything.
Had my D&C last Friday, and am looking to track my ovulation this month and next to make sure my body is getting back on track. I've stopped bleeding already, and pregnancy tests have been negative, so I'm hoping the HCG is out of my system now. Doc said my body was already well into the process of doing what it needed to do before the D&C so I'm hoping the road back to normal isn't too long.
Doc's asked me to wait two cycles before trying again and that seems so far away right now.

@Kath525 That's too bad about the short LP. Fingers crossed that a month off gives you the break you need.
@cassafrass15 Hopefully the clomid works and you won't have to wrap your brain around IVF
@barristerninja Yay for AF! I can't wait to get mine back...never thought I'd be saying that.
