December Symptoms

Re: December Symptoms

  • Anyone noticing a change in intensity of baby’s movements? I’m still feeling kicks/rolls/turns just as frequent, but they aren’t as painful/strong as they had been. I’ll be 33 weeks Monday.
  • Loading the player...
  • @chasingroygbiv yes ma'am I am feeling either decreased movement or a change in his patterns. I was used to him doing more in the AM....not so much recently.

  • I think I might have strep throat... it might just be a cold but not sure and I need to get swabbed. But I really don't want to go to the ER for something like that, especially NOT on NYE. Is it bad if it takes a few days to get diagnosed and get on antibiotics? Has anyone here had strep pregnant?
  • My hips feel like baby is positioned directly in between them and pushing them out, and morning sickness seems to have come back? So this is fun.
  • Nose bleed again...coughed up blood. Ugh
  • @vflux33 you should try a walk in clinic.
  • @vflux33 Please keep us posted - Hope you recover quickly!!
  • @vflux33 Im glad you’re going in! Did you make sure they will treat you while pregnant? Some of them won’t.

@nancysimp I second that you should be seen. Coughing up blood is concerning.
  • @mdfarmchick I really hadn't been going out that much for the same reason! This last week I guess I did a bit more though, despite my best efforts. :|
  • Well, I tested negative for strep, which is good because I don't have to go on antibiotics... the downside being I have no way of telling how long this virus will last or really doing much to accelerate its course other than try to sleep (ha!) and drink fluids.
  • @vflux33 and @nancysimp here's to feeling better. Y'all are having a crazy start to 2018!

  • @vflux33 blech! Last year I had a horrible viral sore throat, it was so bad that I wished it was Strep so I could start meds and get on the mend. Yuck! Feel better!
  • Thanks @chasingroygbiv. Looks like the flu (I got a flu shot but we all know the drill with that, though I'm still glad I got it)... OB is putting me on tamiflu. Hopefully not too late for it to have an effect. She said it was worth a shot and she's normally overly cautious with meds during pregnancy so I agreed and starting it today.
  • Nooo!! I had that when DD was little. Awful! Get well soon! @vflux33
  • So I had the stomach bug NYE night and went to the hospital for fluids all day yesterday. Now my stomach hurts, like it feels bruised! I'm guessing it might be from the severe vomiting but it just feels delayed that's it's just hurting like this now. Anyone else have this? It hurts desperately to sneeze or cough.
  • Sounds like your ab muscles are sore @bravoandprosecco.... you might not have noticed it as much yesterday with the dehydration happening. I hope you start feeling better soon!

  • @vflux33 feel better! Flu is a bitch! Hope the tamiflu works for you. It did wonders for my ds 3 weeks ago....worked within 12 hours.
  • @cford08 I forgot I even had those!
  • Ouch, I agree, I’m sure your muscles are extremely tender. Feel better! @bravoandprosecco
  • Oh geez! I hope you feel better soon @vflux33. And @bravoandprosecco that sounds awful. Hopefully tomorrow will be better with the ab pain.

I hate that any any of us are sick.
  • -22C or -7F  today in my location. Frigid cold. Looking forward to the spring...! My nose has had it...stuffed, sneezing, dry, bleeding...this weather needs to pass. Brrrrr.
  • Is anyone else having truly terrible tailbone pain? Mine has been getting progressively worse. It is no longer just annoying, but actually debilitating. It hurts to stand, walk, move at all. I emailed the doc and am waiting for are response, but the internet is pretty much saying tylenol and sorry its just going to hurt really bad. I have tried all the tailbone stretches and nothing. I want to cry sometimes. :/

  • @GG620 I have had some awful tailbone and hip pain. Sitting on the yoga ball as much as possible is the biggest help and I try to do spinning babies. Otherwise, I just don’t push too hard because then it’s worse.
  • @mdfarmchick okay I need to look into this spinning babies thing ASAP *off to google*

  • @GG620 Yeah I get that too. Have you been getting prenatal massages? They may be covered or partially covered by your insurance given the situation. I think it's worth looking into. I don't get them all the time, but they do help.

  • I came down with the flu yesterday. Sucks so so bad!
Pregnancy related symptoms- I've been having terrible pain in my left top rib every time I eat anything. No matter the portion size.
It feels like a bubble. I thought it was gas at first, but it doesn't seem to be that....
    anyone ever had that?
  • I bumped my belly into a big plastic box yesterday afternoon...we are moving homes. I don't feel pain in my stomach and no bleeding, baby is moving etc but I still feel worried and guilty...the box hit the lower half of my belly. I'm picturing his brain being hurt :(  DH is a doctor...says I'm ok but I think I will go check it out anyway. I can't sleep from worrying...it is almost 2am. Blah.

@paigew123 I've had pain in my ribs too when eating... I noticed that if I'm sitting straight up enough, that helps. I hold the plate over my belly vs on the table now. Any tad bit of slouching or eating forward, my ribs would hurt.

Hope your flu gets better soon. I'm just getting over a bad cold myself. Sucks. All the best with a speedy recovery.
  • @paigew123 couldn't even imagine going through the flu while pregnant! Hope you feel better soon!

@nancysimp I had an old school LnD nurse tell me the other day, if you don't feel at peace about it, go get it checked out.  No use in sitting around worried  <3

  • @paigew123 I am getting over the flu myself--I feel your pain! If it's been less than ~72 hours since your symptoms ramped up, get on tamiflu NOW. The side effects suck, but it's worth it to shorten the time you have the flu.
  • I had the stomach bug and then rolled right into a horrible cold cough that I'm on day 5 of. 31 weeks pregnant and a 2 year old at home it's been rough! I did try the netty pot last night and it did help, but somehow I managed to swallow some of the salt water which made me feel sooo sick so I'm scared to try it again! I'm trying to be productive and clean while my little guy sleeps but I just sat down and don't think I'll be getting up again until he does!
  • @nancysimp @cford08 @vflux33 thanks for the well wishes!
Today has been slightly better. mom took ds for the day so I was able to rest up.
Unfortunately I can't get on tamiflu because I took it 3 weeks ago when ds got the flu to try to prevent me from getting the flu. Doctor said it's not ok to take it more then once a season and OB agreed.
I was just advised to drink and rest and wait till it passes.
Not liking what google had to say about having the flu while pregnancy, but OB didn't seem concerned about possible early labor and the like....
  • @nancysimp thanks for the tip. I'll try that.
Do you ever feel the pain after you eat? I sometimes get it 15-20 mins after eating and it can stay a looong while....
  • @paigew123 Agh I didn't know that about tamiflu. That sucks! I hope it passes and that you keep your fever down OK!
