This may be a UO but I don't mind lurkers as long as they dont come simply to stir the pot. I think its nice to have mom's ahead of us at times come and share advice or support. I know i posted in June because I knew some answers and had suggestions for a question there that hadn't been mentioned.
another random thought I really wish people would stop making their own threads for topixs easily coverrd by other threads and start asking them in here, symptoms or weekly questions. It just makes the board look cluttered and buries our weekly and daily threads.
@runsomewhere I don’t think it’s too early! I’ve already decorated my entire house (except for the outside...I don’t want to completely annoy the neighbors) I just love Christmas so much I want it to last as long as possible!
Ok, there was no Monday Bitchfest post today and I feel it is too late to make one.
Rant 1: So annoyed today!!!!! Angry ragey at everything and everyone. I coached my team at our regional volleyball tournament this weekend and anything we do in this part of Alaska requires travel by plane to get there. It also means weather can screw up everything. We got weathered in and stuck an extra day at another school. The food they were feeding us made me sick all weekend, the water was worse, and 70+ high school kids with NOTHING to do because the hosting school closed the gym does not make for a fun weekend.
Rant 2 which is really part of above the kids all love this song "Young, Dumb, and Broke" I must have heard it 100 times this weekend. They sing it like an anthem because "We might be young dumb high school kids, but we still got love to give". Actual lyrics. Besides the fact that the song just SUCKS there is nothing to be proud about being DUMB!!!!! Young, old, rich, broke don't care! No one should be dumb and sure as F#$/! No one should be proud of it.
Rant 3, I have "open gym" tonight. Teacher have to "volunteer" to host it a couple times a month. Most of the teachers have already left for Thanksgiving so I'm stuck doing it myself. And since I'm ragey and hate people this is just adding to it.
@AKFarmerBecky that song sounds incredibly annoying. Also, just realized AK meant Alaska, if you put that in your intro I missed it (or forgot. Let's be real.). I had been reading your screen name as AKA for some reason, even though no A is there.
AFM, I just got the best night of sleep I have had in a WEEK. Helped a friend slaughter turkeys last night. I usually "do the deed" and he cleans them up (nicest way I can put it for people who might find this gross). He got mad at us before turkey one was even done (we had four to do) and I ended up having to finish that one and do everything for the remaining three turkeys. My friend helped but isn't into the slaughter process so I took the lead. I was so proud of myself for being able to clean them up! I was pretty good at it by the last turkey, which we did by the floodlights on her garage, in the snow, at 4:45pm. Feeling pretty good about myself!

@WorkinWeezel Can you pick up a bottle of sparkling apple juice? or grape juice? And maybe rip the label so it looks like an exclusive brand instead of Welches? Sorry to those with sick kiddos and who are sick themselves. I hope everyone starts feeling better! They're redoing the parking lot at my work, but no one gave us a heads up. I assume the building management company didn't tell anyone, which is super annoying because there's 6 inch deep holes all throughout the parking lot and you have to dodge and weave so you don't bottom out. Super annoyed about this.

Welp. Kiddo woke us both up by throwing up in my bed. In both of our hair. Which made me throw up. Poor thing; she's managed to go her whole life thus far without throwing up. She was so scared. Guess it's my turn to take care of her, she took such good care of me yesterday. The Man hadn't even gotten to work yet, and I was like "turn around, come home, work from home, I just need extra hands and someone to run errands." Couch day for us both!
@christycalifornia oh no! Little’s with the pukes is the worst! Their scared little faces. Poor thing. I hope it’s quick moving and she feels better soon! Stomach bugs give me serious anxiety. It’s nice that your H can work from home to help you out a bit!
@hillbillywife I hope so too. She's in great spirits! Very excited to have a morning bath (we always bathe her at night so it's a novelty) and electrolyte "juice" and all the crackers she wants! I made her a bed on the couch and told her she gets tv and coloring all day, so she feels like shes living large lol. Her school sent home a PSA that apparently this bug is epidemic in our area, but I'd hoped it would pass us by. Guess we didn't get lucky this time. FX The Man doesn't get it! He's so pathetic when he's sick.
@christycalifornia oh you poor things! I can't handle puke without sympathy puking myself either. I hope you both feel better, praying for your man not to catch it- DH is the same way, I'd rather send him to his mother.
@acunamatada boo I was hoping for a juicy story! Haha. Totally get it though, I was added to a FTM group last pregnancy and there is only so much you can take.

I'm currently searching for a Khalid vinyl record. I couldn't name one Khalid song if you asked me and I had no idea vinyl is a thing again. Man I am out of touch.

I will be your opposition here: I find it really weird to post on other bmbs, even with "good intentions". If someone is not part of their regular mini-community, why butt into the conversation?
And I personally am never offended by rogue posts/threads (other than what I just said above). I mean, it's the internet, not a museum.
I've been on two other BMBs and been through two exoduses and all the forums are crazy shit shows at some point. It's too much work to keep it neat.

Sorry to just randomly jump in. I've been intermittently lurking but have just been feeling too sick to actually participate much. This is so different from my last pregnancy! Today I'm working from home and I literally have zero motivation to get any real work done. I'm extremely jealous of my dog, who is snoring away on the couch next to me. It's also our anniversary and we might go out to dinner tonight (with the toddler), but I can't think of any restaurant/cuisine that actually sounds good For a second I wanted Mexican, but that passed when I realized I can't drink margaritas. Waaaaa.
I only have to make it through today at work and a half day tomorrow but it is dragging... It's been a good morning so far though. The person in front of me in the Starbucks drive-thru paid for my order (love that!) so I paid for the car behind me to keep it going, and their order was $1 cheaper than mine! Now I just need to find the motivation to get some work done but I'm bumping instead.

Oh also- for anyone who cares. DD got her tooth pulled this morning. I was super stressed about it, but she did fabulously! I wasn’t really expecting to see a tooth with a root on it, even though I knew it was there. Looks like a teenie dragon tooth or something haha.
So, this is my second pregnancy, we have a DD who just turned 2. I keep alternating between feeling like "oh crap what have we done" and "again! again! lets have like 4 kids"
@Duckie678 I think I'm just going to walk around with the cup in my hand and just drink water "in between". Also not unusual for me. It's more in my head that I'll be missing my delicious bubbles!!!!

Poop is a daily topic of conversation in my house between the dog, my husband, and our two kids. Earlier today I changed my son's diaper and it was the stickiest poop I've seen in a while. Not sure what he ate to get that!
This past summer my husband and I took a flight to Boston and on one flight there was definitely poop on his seat. It was pretty funny, and we made our flight attendant and pilot laugh about it too. We got different seats tho

The book is about his "keys of life, " or words of wisdom. Here's an example: "Pillows are important. When you're supposed to sleep, you've gotta sleep like a king or a queen. Every time you turn, there should be something comfortable to greet you, and that softness reminds you of parts of your body. It's time to relax." I mean. Seriously. At one point he says you need pillows to "rest your greatness." Yes I do Khaled, yes I do. #Keys
Sorry to everyone with sick littles. Jumping in here with my own. DS has double pink eye and a double ear infection. Poor guy. He is at home with my mom today while I am furiously trying to get all of my work done so I can stay with him tomorrow (my mom can, but I want to... at least part of the day). I’m also off on Friday, thankfully.

@flockofmoosen3 you can do whatever you want as far as starting threads, I was just sharing my personal preference. for the record the bump is known for its organization vs other pregnancy communities where it is an absolute free for all. I don't think that makes it a "museum" but rather keeps important threads at the forefront.
@SmashJam so I totally thought it was DJ Khaled and that my sister just spelled it wrong because she's old too, but apparently they are two different people. Khalid sings that awful young dumb and broke song that @AKFarmerBecky was complaining about earlier.
