I'm a Jennifer. lol It's been a common name for such a long time. However, I haven't heard it be in the top 50 in a few years. I just think we try to make the best decision in naming our LO however, it is ultimately going to be the LO who wants to use it or not.
@zombiehoohaai bet you know tons of Jennifer’s too! But yes, the names we don’t intend to become popular do sometimes. We chose Scarlett when we were pregnant with DS1 and saved it when we had a girl in 2015, then all of a sudden it was at the top! Craziness.
@flockofmoosen3 the only name I can think of is Carlotta. Have you ever seen the movie Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid with Steve Martin? You’ll die laughing, one of the best spoof movies ever. Probably not helpful at all but now I want to go watch it.
Edit- it is one of the prominent names in the movie if that wasn’t clear
Well, I think Sloane is out. Now we are thinking Parker for our girl. I've always liked boy names for girls in theory but not sure if we would ever go that route. So we'll see if we actually use it. I'm shocked we agree on a name though! I think if we use Parker we will need a pretty/feminine middle name.

@hillbillywife Oh, I like Parker Rose! Great suggestion!

@Sarafuss Also love that! I'm in the same boat- we're most likely doing Carter for our girl (DH's middle name that has been passed down, so thought it was special to mix it up and use as a girl's first name). Carter Ann. Love Rose for the middle name!
Ok, coming up with another girl name was so hard because I used my fave on my first DD. Her name is Hayley, but we finally came up with one we both like - Sabrina. We just can't figure out a middle name. Our last name also has 3 syllables, so I'm thinking it needs to be short. Any suggestions welcome, thanks!
@JelloBean1 Sabrina is so pretty! I agree with the short middle name to compliment the longer first and last names. Here's some off the top of my head:
Leigh Mae Rae Ann Lynn
That's all I got for now.
Meagan Married 6.12.10 DS 11.8.12 Baby GIRL! due 7.4.18
@stlmegs Thanks, I was actually thinking about Leigh because my DH's middle name is Lee so that would be kind of cool for them to match but with different spellings. I was also thinking of Belle, my great grandma was Bessie so there's a connection with the B. Good thing we have a lot of time to decide!
Thanks everyone! I really like Parker but am still a little hesitant on using a boy name for a girl, even though I really like it. Unless we are 100% sure, we go to the hospital with two options. With my third we thought she was going to be named Brooke but she just didn’t looked like a Brooke so we went with Macy. So I’m thinking our top two choices are Parker and Sloane. But I can’t think of a good middle name for Sloane. Any ideas?

@Sarafuss I think with a single syllable first name you need a multi-syllable middle name. I was looking at baby names quick on baby center to see if I could come up with and idea and I liked the names that ended in A best with Sloane.
I like Marlowe for a girl but SO hates it. Ugh. He says it’s a man’s name. I think it just sounds classy. I remember when I suggested Zoe and he said no. All of a sudden he loves Zoe. He found out the actress who plays Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy name is Zoe Saldana. I’m turned off from the name now because of that. I liked it for the meaning not because of his dumb celebrity crush.
@sarafuss I love the name Macy! I’m also thinking of a first syllable name (Jayde) and agree that a multiple syllable middle name seems best. I started googling 3 syllable names and 4 syllable names to get some ideas

Ok, so now we are thinking of the following names for baby girl to go with MN Barbara.
Hailey/Hayley Rosalie Summer Evelyn Arden
Such a hard choice! My 3.5 yo likes Rosalie, Summer, and Arden but not the other two, haha. My mom loves Summer. I think DH favors Hailey, and I'm totally undecided. What do you all think?
Name has changed to Colin Weston. Although not sure what spelling we’ll use for Colin. It’s a bit weird because DSs first and initials are W.C. and this would make DS2 C.W.
@flockofmoosen3 I like Arden. Havent heard it much before and is a nice alternative to the many popular "a" names.
Our last name ends in "y" and DH (fairly) thinks it would be tough to choose a name that ends in a y/ie sound. Middle name for our baby girl will end in "a" after DH's mother who passed away. Is it weird to have the first name also end in "a"? A lot of the names I like end in "a" and taking away y/ie names and a names is proving tough. I know we only need to find one, but wow, it's hard!
@wildtot Love the name, but I'd probably use the spelling Collin because the spelling with one "L" reminds me of "colon" (I have a relative who was named Collin with two "Ls" for that reason)
We're totally set on our name options, and MIL initially liked them but now she's suggesting Huma instead of Hotaru because she thinks it's a stronger name and doesn't like that Hotaru is a unisex name. I tried not to role my eyes when I politely said no. To begin with I don't like the sound of Huma at all, and secondly, loosely translated in Japanese it means flying horse, as in pegasus. Hard pass. I've reiterated the names are not up for discussion, we're settled on our options.
I have loved the name Emma forever, but I'm not sure about using it, given that it is so popular right now. DH has suggested Aria (he is a musician and likes the connection there). I am more inclined to Alice or Adela, or maybe Nora or Etta. Middle name will be Patricia (family name).
Re: Names?!?
Hey...anyone have a good female nod to the name Charles? Not Charlotte or Charleen.
Edit- it is one of the prominent names in the movie if that wasn’t clear
