IF Testing & Treatment - Week of 11/6

This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another.  Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this like an ongoing conversation.

Diagnosis (If you've been):

Cycle/CD:

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA):

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?)

How are things going?

Any questions?

GTKY: If we asked your SO, "if your SO were an alcoholic drink, which one would she be and why?" what would they say?

@zwink1 starting stims Wednesday ah!! When is this project at work over? Are you almost done with it? Hopefully it won’t coincide with the stress of stimming

@AlohaKumu I just started acupuncture 3 weeks ago, I’ve been going once a week. She hasn’t done anything different yet because of where I am in my cycle and since I was on BCPs at one point. When IVF is closer I will have to ask you all if there’s something different that needs to be done at certain times maybe me and my acupuncturist just haven’t had that convo yet

    @zwink1 yay for starting!
@beachbunnyxo123 so weird, I wonder why no sex?

@beachbunnyxo123, it's technically wrapping up on Friday, but will basically have to be finished by the end of the day Thurs, which will be so nice not to have to worry about.

@AlohaKumu, we're doing a frozen transfer. My RE prefers them, and in our case she was adamant about doing a frozen transfer to help combat a couple of our smaller issues. So we're looking at a Jan/Feb transfer. I am looking forward to going through this experience with such a great group of ladies!

That is so nice of your acupuncturist! What a great surprise!

@zwink1 That's a great timeline! I think the trend is to do frozen transfers based on the most recent research. (We were told to do a frozen transfer as well.)

@emmasemm Glad to hear every cycle on meds isn't awful. That's probably my future and I'm terrified after reading some of the stuff I've read on here <3 I will be think of you. Send you all the luck in the world with IVF #2!

@kiwi2628 Eeeek! Hope you have a blast on your vacay! I'm so jelly.

@darkstar42 I hope your boss is understanding and you feel better soon! When are you doing IUI? I'll be thinking of you!

@laurad75 My anxiety has been awful since all of this stuff. I hope you get some anxiety relief and a good nights sleep soon. :(

@beachbunnyxo123 We have our appt to discuss IVF and our options this Fri too. I'm kind of dreading it. I hope your appt goes well!

@margorita30 My IUI will be next week, but not sure when yet. It depends how my monitoring on Sunday goes. I’ll update you all when I have it scheduled! I totally hear your frustration with the doctors not doing more tests to figure out what’s wrong. I think part of the problem is that there just aren’t that many treatment options, so, in some cases at least, they feel like doing more tests doesn’t matter if you’re going to end up at the same treatment options anyway. It frustrates me to no end.

@KristoKekerooni Thank you! I like your GTKY answer. :)

@emmasemm It’s that relaxing part that’s hard! I have acupuncture Wednesday evening, so that will be good. When I went in last week we still hadn’t decided whether or not to do a medicated cycle, so she doesn’t even know this is what we’re doing yet. Not sure if it will change her protocol at all though.
