so H's response to the GTKY: "A shot of tequila with a lime slice and salt on the side because you're a happy hour special, always looking for a good time". Uhhhh. Ok not how I would describe me but okay!
@purplg8r, I'm so glad they found it and can remove it quickly.
@JuneRoseRuby, haha so I'm happy to be actively doing something; it is an awesome thing. That whole waiting thing was really trying my patience! FX so hard for you during this TWW!!!
@adirat, I am sending alllllllllllll of my good vibes your way!!! Happy to hear that it went well!
You're getting so close to transfer @BusinessWife, so happy for you!
*TRIGGER warning the DNA place emailed that they got DH and SS’s samples we will have results at 6pm EST Nov 8th. And now we hold our breath for two days. At least we know when we will know now! Thanks for the well wishes. *END TRIGGER

@juneroseruby having a real chance at a TWW is all kinds of scary again, hope this one is the one for you!
@adirat soooooo keeping everything crossed for your TWW, though I guess it is really only around 10 days? Looks like you're in good company on the thread though :-)

@margorita30 you've got a lot going on girl, I hope the results relieve some stress and you can move forward. Today and tomorrow are probably going to seem like the longest days ever!
@50Wife fx so hard for you! Hopefully it won’t get that far to IVF but if so you will be in good company
@Avrilmai I remember feeling that way, it’s a tough pill to swallow. I’m sorry you’re going through it but I’m glad to hear that you’re working towards getting answers and moving forward. Hugs
@darkstar42 that is great that you got it switched! I feel relieved for you was worried that you would miss O! Keep us posted!
@margorita30 have you and YH talked at all about what he might do if the child isn’t his? Hope these next few days go by quick for you!
@JuneRoseRuby wow I didn’t realize it’s been that long since you’ve had a TTC TWW. Hoping this IUI is successful!!!!
@adirat yay!!!! Fx so friggin hard for you! When is your beta?
@BusinessWife glad things are progressing well, FET is almost here!
AFM so everything went well yesterday, we can resume TTC and will try on our own until we start stimming in January if not KU before then and FET will likely be early February. He is going to give me a suppository to help with dilation before my saline sonogram and wants me to have a full bladder to push my uterus down so it’s not as tilted. He’s not gonna do the hysteroscopy again. He will use an US to guide the catheter. Then if all goes well he wants to use a laminaria to help dilate me a few days before the FET which is something they insert in the cervix for a few days that absorbs fluid to dilate it then remove it and then do the FET a few days later. I asked him about doing half natural and half ICSI for fertilization but he is recommending just ICSI as it is most effective. I then asked how many eggs he estimates will be retrieved based on previous AFC and he said between 8-14 which I was surprised about I thought there would be more, not that it’s a bad number but I was a little upset about it. I forgot to ask how many would likely make it to freeze. So now at this point I have to figure out about ICSI and if we want to do PGS testing. Any input or PMs are welcome! This hasn’t been an easy thing to decide on so I’m looking for opinions reasoning on both sides if anyone is willing!

@purplg8r sorry I forgot to respond in my recent post. Good luck on Wednesday! Hope that all goes well and smoothly. I’m also glad you have a plan for the future. Hoping the relaxed route does the trick for you! But glad that you decided on the insurance piece also. If not KU before then any idea what the plan will be for the new year?
@50Wife It really is a helpful book in general, since many of the tips are for better health--like removing as many plastics and parabens from your life as you can. It took me a while to make all the changes and for DH to get on board. For some reason, he was so darn attached to plastic containers! @Avrilmai I know it's really frustrating to have to look toward interventions. I wish all of this was just easier for us and we didn't have to spend this time/effort/emotion/money to get to where we want to be. @darkstar42 Great work advocating on your behalf! There have been many times along the way where something just didn't feel right or I knew I was missing a medication/step in the instructions, so don't be afraid to contact your RE's office until the issue is resolved. @shortstack930 I know this isn't where you wanted to be, but it sounds like you and your DH have a united plan to move forward. Just love each other and before you know it, January will be here. @KristoKekerooni We have so many awesome ladies gearing up for January! I love your drink response. Hee hee. @margorita30 I'm glad you finally heard back from the DNA place. That seems goofy that the urologist would even do a phone consult. Even if IVF w/ICSI or IUI/IVF with a donor are your only options, I know there is a relief in knowing the cause. Since you know you'll be paying out of pocket for IVF if you get to that point, if you feel like this RE isn't being helpful, I might look for another alternative, or at least someone who is willing to provide you with a more definitive diagnosis. @emmasemm Grow, follies, grow! @purplg8r Yikes! It definitely sounds like a break is in order with everything going on. I know your doc was optimistic about that spot, so I hope the removal goes well. @JuneRoseRuby Yay for the TWW! Keeping all the fingers crossed! @adirat So, so, so excited for you. I was totally looking at my calendar last night to calculate when we might hear about your beta. Hee hee. @BusinessWife Eeeeeee! I cannot wait until it's your turn. It sounds like you have some magnificent lining. Good luck with your "unboxing" today! @ndz2018 Woo hoo for AF finally arriving. Did the white pants do the trick? lol @beachbunnyxo123 I'm glad to hear everything else went well yesterday. Our RE really encourages ICSI in most situations, too. Even if you were hoping for more eggs, it's all about the quality rather than the quantity. (I mean, I hope you get both, of course!) I think the general estimate is that 1/3 make it to each "stage" to get to the embies, but there is a lot of variation from person to person.
Me: 35 DH: 28 TTC since June 2016 Azoospermia diagnosis (zero count) Dec 2016 AZFc chromosome microdeletion discovery March 2017 Unsuccessful TESE for DH in August 2017 October 2017 IVF with donor sperm

@darkstar42 Hopefully your H's work is understanding
@laurad75 That's so exciting! Take care of yourself and let yourself work through all the feelings - this is a lot to process but will hopefully be worth it in the end
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Follow up after testing
How are things going? Ugh - last week was rough. I had an abnormally long LP (for me) and all tests were negative - but I also knew I O'd when I thought from the progesterone numbers. Of course it fed the BSC and then AF was extra crushing. Really looking forward to hearing from the doctor tomorrow
Any questions? Not yet but probably after the appointment
GTKY: If we asked your SO, "if your SO were an alcoholic drink, which one would she be and why?" what would they say? Probably wine because I drink so much of it
@shortstack930 That’s such a hard decision to make, but I’m
glad you have a path forward and that you and YH are on the same page. *hugs*
@purplg8r I’m so sorry to hear that the spot was cancer, but
it sounds like they’re able to remove it all, so that’s good! Fx this cycle
does it for you, but if not it’s good that you’ll have the insurance coverage moving
forward.
@JuneRoseRuby I have my fx so hard for you! When will you go
in for your beta?
@adirat Woohoo! That’s so exciting! I’m so hopeful for you.
@BusinessWife Only ten days to go! And now I also have The Final
Countdown stuck in my head (thanks @emmasemm).
@margorita30 At least you’ll get the results back soon!
@ndz2018 Glad you can get started on your testing!
@beachbunnyxo123 Thank you! I was worried about the timing
as well, but scheduling for even one day earlier makes me feel a lot better.
Now hopefully the letrozole won’t make me O early or something! I’m so glad to
hear that all went well at your appointment yesterday. It sounds like your RE
has a good plan that you feel comfortable with, so that’s awesome.
@AlohaKumu Thanks! It helps to have all of you ladies
encouraging me to advocate for myself. It can be so uncomfortable to push
against what a doctor recommends!
@Sailing_Mama So far MH’s work is being very supportive!
Both his boss and the person who handles scheduling for subs are aware of what’s
going on and seem willing to be flexible. So sorry for the long LP. I know how
much that can mess with your head. *hugs*
@adirat - that's fantastic!! I'd never heard PASP either but I like it FX for you!! @purplg8r - so sorry to hear it is indeed cancer but it sounds like they caught it early enough that having it removed will do the trick. 2018 has to be a better year! @JuneRoseRuby - yay 2WW! FX for a positive outcome and stay sane in the meantime
@JuneRoseRuby@adirat@BusinessWife I'm tearing up over here as I'm so stinking excited for you all to be so close to the end of an unbelievably long journey. I'm seriously giddy with excitement to stalk you all these next few weeks! @KristoKekerooni girl I can't wait for you to be the heck outta here either!
Ok Ladies!! We got our SA back today. Looks like we will have to do another analysis in 2 weeks. We are a little low on a few things and morphology is at 0% right now. She said it could be cause by medication/drugs. The nurse also said the morphology part we can do ICSI to pretty much bypass that part, which made me feel much better. I’m very open to input or suggestion to maybe make these numbers go up in the next two weeks before we retest. DH is currently taking his daily multi Vit , Zinc, vit D, Maca root and ubiquinal.
@Sailing_Mama sorry you had a rough cycle. Those one off long LPs are the worst. GL tomorrow!
@beachbunnyxo123 glad to hear your appointment went well. When will the saline sono be and will it still be just him doing it?
As for the PGS thing it’s definitely a personal decision. I looked over the recent research and decided not to do it but I may have done it if I was >35 or if I had lots of embryos to choose from. There have been a few threads about it on the IF board as well if you want to read through it.
@JuneRoseRuby I’m right there with you in the TWW madness. FX for you!
@purplg8r so sorry about the diagnosis but glad you’re getting it taken care of. Sounds like you are gonna have an awesome holiday season!
@margorita30 Unfortunatley this stuff takes a while so be ready to put your patience to the test. We still don’t know why my DH’s count is super low (sometimes 0 as well) and he was diagnosed in March. Our next step is supposed to be an MRI to look more closely for obstruction then maybe exploratory surgery but we decided to put that on hold since with my DOR diagnosis the chance of successful IVF decreases every month. Also I can’t remember all the tests that were done (I would have to look for it) but there is usually a genetic panel done as well for azoospermia as some genetic conditions are known to cause it. If your H hasn’t done that yet then the urologist will probably order it and yes he needs to see the urologist in person to be examined as well. I’m sorry, I know how frustrating this whole process is. Hugs to you.
@shortstack930 I know it sucks to still be here but glad you have a plan to move forward ( still hoping you won’t need IVF though).
@alohakumu yay to getting started and that is awesome about your acupuncturist!
@zwink1 Can’t believe you are starting stims tomorrow! That is awesome and I’m rooting for you!
@laurad75 yay to the donor starting stims! That means you’re almost there!
@emmasemm I hope those follies are all responding at your next check. Did they up your dosages?
Diagnosis (If you've been): MFI, DOR
Cycle/CD: ??
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?). I had FET on 11/4. Beta is next Tuesday
How are things going? Good. I was really excited and hopeful on the day of the transfer. Now just trying not to overanalyze everything I feel lol. Also found out today 2 embryos made it to freeze so I’m really grateful for that.
Any questions? Nope
GTKY: If we asked your SO, "if your SO were an alcoholic drink, which one would she be and why?" what would they say? Amaretto sour. My favorite drink plus I can just as sour as sweet lol.
@safire3. Hooray!!! For two frosties!!!! I'm sure I will be overanalyzing every little thing, too, whennthe time comes. Fx every little bit of BAD turns out to be LEGIT!!!! :D
@adirat. So excited for beta day and more good new for you SOON!!!
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) I’ve done my HSG test Monday and I was surprised it didn’t hurt as I originally anticipated. I was bloated after the procedure and I am experiencing some cramping now though. Everything was okay, now I am waiting for my fiancé to go do the SA.
How are things going? I am anxious to what’s next. I have to schedule with the RE so we can get things rolling.
Any questions? Can anyone explain in detail per CD how IUIs work including medication/ testing /process. Thank you!
GTKY: If we asked your SO, "if your SO were an alcoholic drink, which one would she be and why?" what would they say? Ummm, he would possibly say a tequila sunrise lol.
@gimmethebump Sure! Some of this depends on what meds you will be on and how you respond. So CD 1-3 you go in to the RE and get bloodwork and an ultrasound (BW to make sure progesterone and estrogen are low, ultrasound to make sure no cysts on your ovaries). Then on either CD 3 or CD 5 you will start oral meds (either clomid or femara). You will take them for 5 days. Then, somewhere between CD 10 and CD12 you will have bloodwork and another ultrasound. They will check your hormone levels and the size of your follicles. Based on the size(s) they will either tell you when to trigger OR have you come back 2-3 days later for more BW and an ultrasound. This will continue until they tell you you are ready to trigger. You with have an IUI 24-36 hours post trigger.
@darkstar42 I actually don't have a beta scheduled. They just want me to take a HPT in two weeks and if it's positive, call them for a beta, and if it is negative, just wait for AF and call with CD1 to do IUI #2. So I am going to hold out until 11/18 which would put me at 14DPO. But who knows, WHEN @adirat and @safire3 get their BFP, I may break down and test.... I am pretty strong willed about not testing though. I only ever tested twice in two years of TTC. I really really hate those BFN.

@safire3@adirat So excited for both of you! @kiwi2628 Just reading the timeline you wrote for @gimmiethebump and realizing that my RE isn't doing any bw this cycle. Is that really unusual? I asked about bw for estradiol levels and the nurse said they don't do it because the letrozole messes with levels, so it isn't accurate. That doesn't explain the lack of baseline tests though. Now I'm concerned...
@darkstar42 I am zero percent an RE, so I don't know. I can tell you my RE does BW during monitoring to make sure I am not surging on my own- which did happen once for me and can influence exactly when the IUI should happen.
@beachbunnyxo123 I'm glad your Drs sound like they have a good idea on what to do! That must be a relief! AFM, if this cycle doesn't work, I doubt we'll be KU before the new year since our schedules are opposite during the week. After, I definitely want to try at least one IUI. I guess I need to talk to my RE to see how many she reccommends.
@Sailing_Mama ugh! I'm sorry your body screwed with you so much!
@kiwi2628 Thanks! That's what I'm worried about happening, and the nurse acted like it wasn't possible to surge on my own. The communication at this clinic is seriously sub-par, and they keep treating me like I have no idea how my body works. Sorry to rant at you, and I so appreciate your input.
Update for those following our strory.. *TRIGGER WARNING the probability of paternity came back 99.9997% that DH's son IS his (see spoiler)! Praise Jesus!!!!! We are sooooo relieved! DH's whole world would have came crumbling down if that little boy wasn't his. Now on the the next step of finding out what on earth has happened to DH's swimmers in the past 10 years!?! I feel a little glimmer of hope knowing that he HAS made a child before. *TRIGGER END
@safire3 Thanks for the info. We are both so curious as to what the next steps will be. Every bit of info helps! I'm guessing it's not genetic *TRIGGER since he has fathered a child before END TRIGGER* but who knows! I feel like with Kasier, since the treatment plan for getting us pregnant is the same no matter the cause of the Azoo (IUI with donor or IVF ICSI) that they just won't look in to it very well. Kaiser seems to be that way which drives me nuts! I hate that he has a phone appt with urology on Friday and that they will be calling him while he's at work. I have so many questions that I know he'll forget to ask. I feel like sometimes I can get them to not be so lazy and do more because I'm pushy. He's such a "dude".. I already know he's going to be like "yea, ok, whatever, not interested in having anyone touch, poke or praud my penis or balls, ok bye" lol.
@emmasemm just waiting on my results. DH did the SA back in Aug and it came back okay. @purplg8r I hope having a plan brings you some relief. I hope you don't have to give up your alcohol and coffee ban for the holidays, but if you do. Enjoy it! So scary about the skin cancer, but I'm glad they were able to find it and address it. @JuneRoseRuby eek! GL in this TWW. @BusinessWife lady, you are so close!! how did the call go with the nurse? @adirat PASP! I it. I'll keep you in my thoughts. @beachbunnyxo123 thanks. Happy to hear you have a plan. Hope it brought you some relief. @Sailing_Mama sorry it has been such a rough go of it lately. If you ever need to chat/vent/whatever, my inbox is always open @safire3 so exciting to have 2 that made it to freeze too! @margorita30 such great news!!! I hope your stress has decreased a bit.

AFM, baselines went fine today. She said they'll call when they get the results and will let me know if anything comes back off, but I have no cysts and we'reclear to start stims tonight. Still waiting on news from my carrier screening.

@adirat yay!!! Fx for you so hard!
@BusinessWife the countdown is ON!!
so H's response to the GTKY: "A shot of tequila with a lime slice and salt on the side because you're a happy hour special, always looking for a good time". Uhhhh. Ok not how I would describe me but okay!

@emmasemm Grow, follies, grow!
Did the white pants do the trick? lol
@beachbunnyxo123 I'm glad to hear everything else went well yesterday.
TTC since June 2016

Our journey has come to an end.
@emmasemm FX they wake up and get growing!
@kiwi2628 Have an amazing trip!!
@darkstar42 Hopefully your H's work is understanding
@laurad75 That's so exciting! Take care of yourself and let yourself work through all the feelings - this is a lot to process but will hopefully be worth it in the end
@zwink1 FX for you!
@beachbunnyxo123 Glad you got the all clear at your appointment and that he's got a plan for your cervix!
@AlohaKumu That's awesome that your acupuncturist is so supportive!
@50Wife Hopefully you won't have to do IVF - still keeping my FX for your beta
@AvrilMai Hopefully your CD3 bw will get in soon and give you an idea of what might be going on
@shortstack930 I'm sorry it's been so rough - glad you guys at least have a plan for next steps
@KristoKekerooni I'm so excited for the 22nd to arrive for you!
@purplg8r Ugh you've had such a rough year... and now skin cancer to top it off?!? GL tomorrow
@JuneRoseRuby Yay for the TWW! Hope you don't drive yourself too crazy
@adirat I'm so glad to hear the FET went well - FX for you!!
@BusinessWife 10 days!!!
Diagnosis (If you've been): PCOS
Cycle/CD: 10/10
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Follow up after testing
How are things going? Ugh - last week was rough. I had an abnormally long LP (for me) and all tests were negative - but I also knew I O'd when I thought from the progesterone numbers. Of course it fed the BSC and then AF was extra crushing. Really looking forward to hearing from the doctor tomorrow
Any questions? Not yet but probably after the appointment
GTKY: If we asked your SO, "if your SO were an alcoholic drink, which one would she be and why?" what would they say? Probably wine because I drink so much of it
@shortstack930 That’s such a hard decision to make, but I’m glad you have a path forward and that you and YH are on the same page. *hugs*
@purplg8r I’m so sorry to hear that the spot was cancer, but it sounds like they’re able to remove it all, so that’s good! Fx this cycle does it for you, but if not it’s good that you’ll have the insurance coverage moving forward.
@JuneRoseRuby I have my fx so hard for you! When will you go in for your beta?
@adirat Woohoo! That’s so exciting! I’m so hopeful for you.
@BusinessWife Only ten days to go! And now I also have The Final Countdown stuck in my head (thanks @emmasemm).
@margorita30 At least you’ll get the results back soon!
@ndz2018 Glad you can get started on your testing!
@beachbunnyxo123 Thank you! I was worried about the timing as well, but scheduling for even one day earlier makes me feel a lot better. Now hopefully the letrozole won’t make me O early or something! I’m so glad to hear that all went well at your appointment yesterday. It sounds like your RE has a good plan that you feel comfortable with, so that’s awesome.
@AlohaKumu Thanks! It helps to have all of you ladies encouraging me to advocate for myself. It can be so uncomfortable to push against what a doctor recommends!
@Sailing_Mama So far MH’s work is being very supportive! Both his boss and the person who handles scheduling for subs are aware of what’s going on and seem willing to be flexible. So sorry for the long LP. I know how much that can mess with your head. *hugs*
@sailing_mama Ugh, that is such a mindf-k. Sorry about CD1
@purplg8r - so sorry to hear it is indeed cancer but it sounds like they caught it early enough that having it removed will do the trick. 2018 has to be a better year!
@JuneRoseRuby - yay 2WW! FX for a positive outcome and stay sane in the meantime
@KristoKekerooni girl I can't wait for you to be the heck outta here either!
@kiwi2628 have an awesome vacay!
@adirat. So excited for beta day and more good new for you SOON!!!
Diagnosis (If you've been): ————
Cycle/CD: Cycle 6/ CD 9
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle?
@safire3 and @adirat FX for both your betas!

I feel a little glimmer of hope knowing that he HAS made a child before. *TRIGGER END
