Holy bananas, this is torture. Apparently only one person in the doctors office I went to for testing can give out the results. I keep getting told to call later, and that she isn't in the office yet. Come on, whyyyyy?
Anyone know how to turn these stupid video popups off on this website? Obviously, you don't get them on the phone, but I have already gone and turned all popups off and its not working for this site.

Ughhhh, I would be freaking out too! I hope you get a hold of her soon!

install an ad blocker on your browser. I use SuperBlock Pro and it works great.
@ngolimento uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh I'm annoyed for you!
I finally bothered the office enough that they caved and had a nurse read the results. I think they partially did because it came back as the lowest risk for everything, so not much to interpret.
Anywho, it's a girl! I can't stop laughing, because statistically it's next to impossible. My husband's male line only produces boys going back 150 years. I just produced two out of the only three girls in that line in 150 years. :P
Lol, I just talked to my MIL, who is big into her family genealogy, and she is swooning because this will be the first sisters in the male family line in recorded family history. She can trace the family back before the Mayflower, ya'll!
My dog loves my new snoogle apparently- I got up and came back and he was like this- He sat up because I was taking a picture but he was all snuggled in! (ignore my husband's head lol)
I am trying to talk my husband into another trip to Scotland since he made us cancel the Germany one. We have a credit with the airline we only have a year to use and unlikely I will be going anywhere anytime soon after the baby is born!
@scuba_chic I gave in and got a couple of (raw) rolls and a miso soup from a very reputable establishment last weekend. I normally eat it weekly. I had sushi about once a month last pregnancy and it helped me get through it.

I'm really close to caving haha. Not that it will make a difference, but I'm telling myself I will in my 2nd tri. Only a week to go!
Exactly! The best part is that if you read about the guy at all, you find out he bailed and went to Panama to "live off the grid". In fact, his YouTube channel is no longer working. So...what would his wife be doing on the internet? Also, I never ran across an instance where she was referred to as a wife, just "partner" on every article that I read. Granted, since he fell off the face of the Earth, not a lot of stuff has been written about him since 2016.
@sparklingdiamond, why did you have to cancel a Germany trip? We had to cancel our trip to the Virgin Islands because (a) Zika and (b) hurricanes. I'm trying to convince him to use our credit to go to Germany so I can visit my best friend.
@lindsye and @scuba_chic, I'm not craving sushi, but we'll be serving raw oysters at our elopement reception in two weeks. I'm really tempted to eat one since it will be at one of the fanciest restaurants in Seattle. Can't decide though...don't want to take heat from the rest of my family if it do.
Sorry I am late but congrats @ngolimento !! I love that they can trace it back that far. So interesting!
Yeah DH's family is huuuugely into geneology. One if the only reservations that had about me joining their family is that when they asked if I was related to anyone famous, I shrugged and said I didn't know, but I was pretty sure we are 100% peasant. My MIL was shocked, then decided to prove me wrong. So for our wedding present from her, she did an extensive geneology search on my family, and I had to try hard not to laugh when she was unable to find a single noble or person of historical interest in our family. I am a proud nobody descended from a pure pedigree of nobody!
I am livid with my doctors office, specifically one nurse. I had the maternti21 blood draw the 25th. I called the lab, Sequenom, Monday and they say "oh, your turnaround time was fast, the results were faxed to your doctor the evening of 10/1." So I call my doctor and they tell me they don't have the results, ok maybe faxes haven't been processed yet. So I call yesterday and same thing. The lab says to have my doctor call them and they'll resend the fax. My doctors office refuses to call. Same thing today. And the nurse told me to stop calling them. I'm so annoyed!! I just want my results and to know if the baby is ok! I'm not annoyed with the overall wait time, so much as the fact I know my results are ready I just can't access them. Ugh!

Tell her that under federal law (reference the HIPPA act) you have the right to access your own medical records. If they fail to comply, you will file a HIPPA a complaint with the Office of Civil Rights. If they fail to comply with the OCR, they will face civil money penalties and possible further legal action.
Never. Ever. accept a medical entity refusing to provide you a copy of your medical records. It is your legal right and completely unethical. HIPPA violations are taken extremely seriously in the medical field.
@ngolimento that's good advice, it would definitely scare them enough into calling the lab I think. I feel like this one nurse is personally annoyed with me and being as uncooperative as possible. Either they have them or they don't, but one simple phone call would allow the lab to resend them. The nurse was like, "well yours are probably taking longer because they're negative, the posivite results get tested first." How could that ever be possible? They somehow know which ones are positive before anything is tested. Come on.
They will be getting an angry call from me first thing tomorrow.
@sdavis2189 I mean, at what point would they follow up with the lab if they still haven't recieved the results? Things get lost when faxed ALL the time. The reason she gave you doesn't even make common sense! I would ask to speak directly to the doctor.
@ngolimento What you are saying is definitely true if the clinic actually has the results. They can't release information they don't have but at some point I would think they would be legally responsible for following up on the results if they haven't recieved anything.

True, but since the lab has record of faxing the results to the doctor, the legal responsibility lies with the doctor at that point to provide them to the patient. The doctor doesn't get to say "we are lazy and you annoy me, go away"
@JJMNO1616 who knows? They told me they wouldn't call the lab. She specifically said I'm just one patient and she doesn't have time to find out my results. I tomorrow is technically the last day they told me results could come, so after that they're "late." Maybe they will listen to me and call then.
@ngolimento yeah, even if the clinic doesn't have the results in hand, I told them the lab said they were ready and had been faxed. I think now it's on them to follow up.
One more weekly random (and maybe even an UO?): It's ticking me off so much when people say "ohhhhh, you're still so early" when they ask how far along I am. People, I've been down the loss route. I'm 11 weeks and baby is still going strong. I'm walking on sunshine with this rainbow baby, and you don't need to steal my joy. If something happens, it happens, but let's not borrow trouble, eh?
Edited because I tried to do math and apparently cannot.

@sissy42 it never ceases to amaze me the way some feel they have a right to project emotions on other people's pregnancies. Your pregnancy, they should take the lead from you! Hope you kept on walking on sunshine!!
I was looking at the recommendations for painting while pregnant (we'll be finishing the drywall on two new rooms this week, and I'm usually the painter in the family), and came across this gem on the American Pregnancy Association website:
"What about pregnancy and recreational use?
Recreational use of paints involves sniffing or inhaling paint solvents; this is harmful whether you are pregnant or not. Sniffing and inhaling paints provides high levels of exposure and increases the risk of harm to the baby."
Edited for clarification.
