@wannabeamongoose I know right, she probably said that bc I've been trying to negotiate moving my c section up, every single appointment. I'm just not comfortable anymore.
37 weeks pregnant now with baby #2. The other night I thought labour was starting, I had lower back pain, period pain, tightenings and pressure but nope have been completely normal since then!
Me 3 months ago: maybe I could do a drug free labor! Me after a month of BH, killer hemorrhoids, back pain and itching: Is knocking me out entirely an option?
My husband's birthday is in 6 days. With a newborn in the house, I just realized I have given absolutely no thought to what I am going to get him for a gift. I really should have thought about this before the baby was here...oh well. Anyway, any ideas for gifts that are specifically good for a new dad?

My husband is really into scotch and the like and plans to celebrate our LO's arrival with an extra-special bottle. Is there anything like that that you could do?
Anyone lose part or all of their mucus plug and not go into labor soon after? I think I have lost small pieces of mine the last two day. I haven't had anything but random BH yet. I am 37 weeks and need to make it until the 6th to get my full maternity leave and pay because of my anniversary date. I am a little freaked out now I will miss it by a couple days.
@cchenal07 I'm 36+3 and lost my mucus plug 11 days ago and still nothing. My dr says you can't really predict when you'll go into labor after losing it, could be hours or weeks.
@cchenal07 the mucus plug is a sign of cervical change, but isn't usually enough to indicate labor. Mucus with bloody show would be a stronger sign. Mucus plugs are weird and can grow back.
Thank you ladies! Of course I start to google and get freaked out. I just need to make it until the 6th and basically put myself on bedrest this weekend lol. The difference in my maternity leave from now until then is huge.
I'm 39+4 and I lost my mucus plug today. I'm having some crampiness/pain here and there but nothing consistent. This is my 2nd pregnancy- with my first I was having contractions when I had the bloody show and had my son the next morning. So we shall see what happens in the next few days!

I'm pretty sure I was losing small pieces of my mucus plug for 2 weeks before I was induced at 37 weeks. When my induction started I wasn't dilated at all. So you might be ok!

I started to lose bits and pieces of mine (blood tinged) starting last Friday then everyday until i gave birth to DS2 4 days later (this past Tuesday).
I think my mucus plug is starting to come out...not due until 9/23 but now I'm hopeful baby will come on his own before our scheduled 9/20 induction! Also, it's so great seeing everybody's babies pop up on the birth announcement thread.
Came into the hospital because of reduced fetal movements, nausea and a killer headache.... been here about 3 hours now and I have low platelets high BP... possible preclampsia induction was scheduled for Wednesday at 37+0 due to Cholestasis but they either might induce me early or keep me here for observation until then. Rough week! Can't wait to have a healthy baby in my arms and feel better again!
@bnmort8 it can definitely help. I drank it last time. This time the midwifery center has me talking a birth prep supplement that has it built in so it's easier.
I have a few: I apologise for the noval! My husband got an awesome job on Saturday! He gets to start working once he does his drug test tomorrow and then has 3 hrs of orientation but not sure when he does that. He will be working for the biggest asphalt company around doing road work and making consistent money. Thank the Lord because with almost 2 yrs of me being the provider has gotten exhausting.
Next random, I am just disgusted with my body right now and can not believe how much weight I gained. So I ordered the hip and waist shrinker for post pardom. From what I researched it will actually be beneficial for my hip issues as well.
Lastly, apparently my toddler is breast milk sick??!! It's the only thing I can think of done he doesn't have a fever and shows no signs of being sick except vomiting. He hasn't had my milk for months but was still nursing for comfort, well now my milk has come in and he has been wanting it all night last night and today.
A lot of cramping and back pain last night with tightening of stomach FTM so I'm not sure if this is Braxton hicks or not I have doc app tomorrow but still having some cramping
@tfrangul My biggest worry post baby is how my toddler will handle me nursing baby. He is a milk ADDICT. Happily dry nursed when I ran out and before colostrum came in. Never complained of a change in taste. And while he helped put together the cosleeper for he baby, picked out a toy, etcetera, mention baby having milk and it's all NOPE.
Any chance your toddler is going easier on you now?
@Carebella Your toddler sounds just like mine. I decided to make the big decision and cut him back to just one nursing session a day which is at like 5am. It's only been a couple days but he is not throwing a fit when I nurse the baby. Last night at bedtime he was pissed at me but after about 5 minutes he calmed down and fell asleep. There were 2 big reasons I cut him back. He has tubes in his ears and keeps getting ear infection and I think him wanting to nurse 3 times a night is a huge factor and then there is the fact that he wakes up 3 times as much as my infant...I hope it all works out for you but this is the decision I had to go with.
@tfrangul I try really hard to just do morning at 7-8am when he wakes up, around and during naptime at 2pm to get him to sleep, and around 8:30pm for just before bedtime. And usually once randomly during the day. The last two days I've stopped letting him nurse if he stirs during naps and it hasn't been pretty. I'm hoping we can keep to 4 times a day, or better yet drop down to 2, but I'm SCARED of how long it might tare him to adjust. Hopefully the naptime transition will give me a clue. If it's anything like cutting out nighttime nursing, it could be weeks
All the FX that yours continues to do okay with just once a day
@Carebella Good luck to you as well! One thing I have realized is no one can prepare you or really give you advice on tandem nursing because all children are so different in their reactions to baby and the routine in general. Also, I have to go back to work next month so I don't want him getting used to nursing alot.
@lilpoots I don't understand why anyone would ever think "I'm going to go ahead and post my vag juices on this random interwebs forum so a bunch of people I've never so much as said hi too can analyze it for me." In what world is that not weird?
In general this BMB has been super tame. Very limited vaccination clashes. No big fights over circumcision, natural vs. epidural, breast vs. bottle (so far), pictures of weird bodily discharge *until now*, etc. I don't know if we're boring, too polite, or what, but color me impressed.

I'm so amazed with how well I feel 1 day post partum. This baby was unmedicated and I feel amazing. I don't know if it's because it's my second, I didnt have an epidural, I wasn't in labor for very long or what, but I am very thankful.
@jessieR358 this was my 3rd and this was by far the best recovery for me. I've never had an epidural with any of them. But I had one stitch with my first and a retained placenta with my second so not having any of that was great! I also have very short labors. I'm more than grateful since I am home with my toddler while I'm on leave and have soccer to deal with for my oldest. glad you are doing well also!
40+1 today and already tired of the are you in labor yet from so many people. 1) We are not planning to share when labor starts, 2) I've been vocal about expecting to go to 42 weeks and you're asking just adds to the stress and likelihood of going longer, and 3) just wait for the pictures and shut up already.
@Carebella Agreed! I'm not even 38 weeks yet and I'm already getting texts asking if I'm still pregnant. I still have 2+ weeks until my due date people!!!
Anyone have experience with an infant who hates being in the car seat and any tips for getting them more used to it? My little guy really does not like being in the car seat and considering he needs to be in it to go in the car and to use the stroller, it makes it challenging to leave the house!
@Carebella and @hmclaren this was actually a huge issue at my work....everyone knew my due date but thought it was cute to make comments like oh still pregnant? Don't you want to have that baby yet? You know the usual stupid shit. It was so bad in fact my regional made it a point to tell people to leave me alone in a meeting. That still didn't work. I actually took my leave 2 days early because I had a freak out moment and honestly could have lost my job. People just have no tactfulness or sense of space when it comes to a pregnant woman. It's so damn annoying. Anyway good luck and try not to throat punch anyone
Has anyone tried any post pregnancy wrap things? I just got mine in. I read a bunch of reviews and did a bunch of research but wanted to know if any of you have tried them? I have the shrinkx hip and the waist. I am really having a hard time with my body this go round. So I apologise if I sound annoying since it has only been a week and 2 days since my beautiful baby was born.
@Rhubarb7216 is anyone next to baby in the back? If you have someone to ride next to baby, particularly mom or dad, that could help. Also, maybe a swaddle blanket on top that smells like mom or familiar music? Could be good to have a car seat tech check the fit with baby in the seat too. Maybe light sensitivity? Do you have a swaddle you could cover the car seat with? Is he still upset for awhile after getting out of the car seat making it possibly a motion sickness issue? Or is he okay as soon as he is out of the seat?
The first four four months my son did okay in his car seat but ever since it's been a challenge. I'll be crossing my fingers you get relief soon.
@tfrangul I've never used one but will have FX it helps you! All the hugs and try to remember to be gentle with yourself. Sadly our bodies don't bounce back overnight
@lilpoots I completely understand. Can you just let her know you'll get baby to her once baby is here and you see how you're all doing?
I'm a little ticked off with my in-laws right now. For over 6 months they'd planned to come here from the 7th-11th for MILs vacation time. I wasn't thrilled but DS loves them and I didn't plan anything since they'd be here. The 7th rolls around, DH asks when they get in, and we find out that she has an outpatient procedure on the 8th and they might fly out after. It's now the 10th, and no updates of any sort... nice guys, nice. I'm guessing they're now just hoping to come after their cruise out of LAX and meet baby. Makes me want to take off for WA and my brothers wedding extra early

Same! 40+5 over here with my second this is how I feel right about now

@bnmort8 so I didn't try it personally but know when have but from what I understand it's to help with a smoother labor? I think....
