@g_amoss I'm a beer girl yoo, and have definitely had a taste of a few of MH's beers over the past few weeks. He's a homebrewer, so I had to taste how the most recent creations turned out!

Being from New England I like to think we have some of the best craft selection but I love hearing about favorites from different regions in the rare chance we can find a store with great selection!
@ekendall09 Ahem, being from Northern California, I happen to think that that we have a pretty excellent craft beer selection. Actually though, I haven't had much east coast beer, so I'd love to hear your recommendations as well! AFM, I like hoppy beers, but not necessarily super bitter or high alcohol, so, hoppy pale ales tend to be my go to. Lagunitas (Petaluma, CA) does a few of that I love: DayTime, New Dogtown Pale, 12th of Never, and Born Again Yesterday. I like Ninkasi (Euegene, OR) and Bear Republic (Cloverdale, CA)... at least Lagunitas and Bear Republic I believe are ditributed pretty widely, so maybe you've seen them out there?

Yes to Lagunitas! I've had that a couple times. I'll have to note the others you suggested and look in the west coast section next time we're out. SO loves trying new things and IPA (hoppy) are his favorite!
I also really like hoppy and a good handful of sessions too. My favorites lately have been Fiddlehead (VT), Sip of Sunshine (Lawsons), we loaded up on Alchemist when we went to VT brew fest and I do really like Heady Topper but its a strong double. Others that I think are good and more distributed are Harpoon (I grew up near the brewery). Their IPA and UFO are two of my favorites and what I would consider good "all day" beers. I could probably go on and on. There is sooo much competition with craft around here and alot of them don't distribute either at all or very far.
@ekendall09 I'm so sad that it will be so long before I can put your list to work I will pass it along to MH and brother, as they're super beer nerds (my brother used to work at Anchor Brewing Co, in SF and he just spent some time in Cape Cod, so he may already know some of those). I also love session and all-day beers - MH has been brewing a bunchof those lately - and some saisons (there's an Ommegong that I like, but can't remember which one, and Saison duPont). Edit: I hear you about the competition - we also have a bunch of great little breweries that don't distribute very far.

I feel you girls on the alcohol! I'm not a beer girl but I do live in Bend OR so craft is everywhere! Nevermind my husband owns a business servicing craft beer.
@ackershan My husband works in marketing and events for a brewery here in LA! I would much prefer if he worked in the wine industry, haha. I heart wine.
@hedgepig - homebrewing seems like it would be an awesome hobby! @ekendall09 - at home I'm lame (and a cheapskate) with beer, and usually drink Miller Lite or Blue Moon. I don't have any regional beers that are a go-to, but in Nashville I drank Yazoo's Hefenweisen. Not sure where it's from, but Bell's Brown Ale is yummy!
I'm a rule breaker extraordinaire I guess. And its progressively gotten worse with each kid.
With my first I followed [almost] all the rules - no cold cuts, no sushi, no raw meat of any kind, no unpasteurized cheese, no smoked food, no caffeine for the first 12 weeks (<200mg after that), and no hot tubs.
With this pregnancy: No hot tub. (and sub 200mg caffeine--but I still get my coffee fix)

Thank you @ladythrice! Thankfully it is. Looks like we had no flooding but do have some water damage from a fairly major roof leak. Compared to so many others, though, it's very insignificant. Grateful we were able to make it back home and still have a home to live in!

What are the thoughts on drinking soda (particularly coke)? I try not to drink it as much as possible (even before getting KU) but I have been really craving the sugar and caffeine at times. I feel like I'm drinking poison though.
Dang it! I'm trapped in the quote thing. THIS. I should have read the comments before posting. I'd do some pretty crazy stuff for a Mr. Pibb right now. Please give me alllllll the caffeine and sugar.
Not sure if I stretched or boke rules today... I LOVE food - especially home cooked meals. I eat a lot at meals, and snack through the day. For the last week or so, nothing has sounded good, except for buttered toast, almonds and a little cottage cheese. Today a McDonalds cheeseburger and fries souded good, so I went. It was amazing! Haha - we'll see if it agrees with me later on
