Re: Symptoms Thread - Week of 7/17/17

  • Anyone else having lower back pain ? I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow and have been having lower back pain at nights mostly when I lay flat. Sorry for TMI but I'm also constipated no cramps or bleeding but really bloated. Is lower back pain normal this early ? I don't remember having it in 1st trimester with DD and it's making me nervous. :(
I had severe lower back pain last week and bloating at about 6.5 weeks. I don't remember it with DS until much later. I'm feeling much less achy this week. I hope you share a similar experience.

I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow and I've had bad lower back pain for the past two days. I'm also consitpated and I think that has a lot to do with it. I need to pick up some colace and hopefully that will do the trick.
  • That's what I was thinking it was the constipation doing it.i wasn't sure what remedies were safe and what wasn't I didn't have constipation with DD either. I also think symptoms are hitting me earlier with this pregnancy. I've had MS since 4 weeks.

  • @jerseygirl9090 I've periodically had really bad lower back pain this pregnancy--and definitely around 6 weeks.
  • 4w3d, and the nausea is starting. Sigh.

Although my PGAL brain is making me smile with every wave of nausea.
  • @jerseygirl81 when I'm constipated I get lower back pain. They're probably related.

Still super tired, but also have insomnia. Ugh! Super sore boobs and food tastes funny to me. I also have a stuffy nose which I got with my other 2, too. I hate it!!!

For those of you who are feeling backed up, remember to add some type of fiber supplementation to your life. Long ago when I went to my OB/Gyn when we were talking about TTC she warned me then to stay ahead of the constipation. Part of the problem is that it can lead to hemorrhoids that they sometimes can't really do much about until after you give birth. She suggested even adding a daily glass of Metamucil.

  • so this is my 3rd pregnancy ( I've lost the previous 2) and both previous I've been nauseous but never actually sick.

Well that changed today. I am so so miserable but I'm hoping it's a good sign?

Anyone have any good constipation remedies? I took two colace with a half caff coffee and nothing!
  • @kby721 coffee and Colace usually do the trick for me... but not necessarily right away. I took Colace two days ago and didn't see a real result until today. Sometimes it's just time. Also, up your fiber intake?
  • HIC.CUPS.

SO annoying! I have never had hiccups this many times in a day! lol

    It's driving me nuts!

@kby721 fiber one bars have been a blessing for that!
  • I tested today because I have been crying at the most ridiculous things, that I would normally not cry about. Saw the movie Dunkirk and I had to leave before the lights came on it was so bad, and it is a sad movie, but normally I can handle things like that. My chest has also been SO sore!

@justkeeptrying General GI upheaval is normal. Unpleasant but normal. Hopefully yours gets better soon.

  • @kiki75, yeah I remember this in the early stages with my son as well. Honestly, I would prefer this over the vomiting 4x a day I'm sure will be coming soon.
  • @justkeeptrying Same.  I was like this early in my last pregnancy early on as well.   Then I don't think I pooped again after 20 weeks until DD was born.
    The constipation was hell
  • Constipation is my biggest enemy. It was basically my first pregnancy sign. Every time I think I've escaped the nausea I get a random wave that is rough.
  • 4w 2d Slight nausea on and off throughout the day, but eating small meals with higher protein seems to help (more sugary based foods make it worse). Round ligament pain is very early this time. Sometimes when I turn over on bed I pull one of those ligaments and get extreme pain. My lower back is very sensitive right now too. Nipples are a bit sensitive, and my bra cup size is getting a bit tight. I get fatigued in the afternoon and early evening, but just being able to put my feet up during little One's nap time helps. No food aversions yet.

  • Omg, the heightened sense of smell started yesterday and it is crazy! I didn't have this last time! So far it doesn't really bother me. It's just...interesting. But now I'm super worried that when the aversions start they will be much worse and I might get nausea and vomiting.

Ughhhh I freaking hate early pregnancy. My period is due today and I've got some serious cramps, like I've been running to the bathroom every 10 minutes to check for spotting. And the thing is, I did have spotting the day my period was due last pregnancy, and everything was fine. So, rationally, I know there's a chance I could spot. Emotionally my head would explode if that actually happens  :#
  • To help with constipation this time round (this is my 3rd), I'm taking a probiotic and adding fiber (such as benefiber) to my drinks or smoothies. It's helping thus far.

  • @kmalls Today is the day I am supposed to start, too! I keep checking every time I go to the bathroom.

I am only 4w today and so nauseous. I didn't get nauseous with DS until almost 8 weeks. Ugh. My sense of smell is getting worse, too. I really hope these are good signs since I am PGAL!

  • Guys, I'm bleeding. I talked to the OB on call and he said to go to the ER for an ultrasound, so here I sit waiting. Please say a prayer/send good vibes my way.

  • Heightened sense of smell... I feel like my house stinks and I keep spraying room freshener
  • Thanks, all! I'm hoping I get called back soon.

@kiki75 Red. Yes, it feels like I'm about to get my period.
  • @GeekBeagle thinking of you!!!!!!!!

I'm 5w6d (maybe a few days off) and have had slight waves of nausea, but not really, mostly just exhaustion.  I was having frequent urination but that stopped...my PGAL brain is working in overdrive.  My boobs were sore but not really anymore...I also POAS (stupid) on Thursday and it came out much fainter than it had been on Monday so I'm freaking out about that and that makes the disappearing symptoms worse.  Blah.  Ultrasound is Monday afternoon.

  • @BWhitta I had a couple days at the beginning of this past week when my symptoms disappeared a bit. Someone posted a good reminder in the mantra thread about how the loss of symptoms does not equate to loss altogether and our bodies are constantly changing. I know it's hard to hush that voice in the back of your mind, but do what you can to make the positive voice a little louder to drown it out!

  • @LiveNLove44 thank you!!!!!! Somebody else mentioned the mantra thread to me, I haven't found it yet! Haha, I definitely have my affirmations I do every morning (and throughout the day) but I still struggle.  Just after I posted we had lunch and I have insane heartburn, so I guess I do still have some symptoms

@GeekBeagle Well, that does need to be checked out but it doesn't necessarily mean the worst. Keep hanging in there.  <3
