Thank you! We definitely went a little OTT, but rationalized that with an eventful swap out for white bunk beds, the room will work until we hit the teen years. These are the first girls after 4 boys, so everyone is very excited for anything "girly!"
This is definitely not where everything goes but we've got the crib and my awesome rocking chair in the nursery now and it definitely looks more like the baby's room than our old office.
Also the crib does wonders at keep our curious furbaby out of the real baby's new stuff.
(Ugh, my phone camera sucks)
@ShyTonia They're beautiful, and what a great library! I am so excited to read with our LO, and it makes me really happy to see other people who are excited to read with theirs too!
@ShyTonia your shelves are beautiful! Ours are a similar style and my daughter loves being able to see all of her books and pick one to bring to me to read. It’s my favorite part of her room!
@failuretofly I've shopped for a ton of stuff on Wayfair. They have a good selection, but I would recommend: whatever you find on there, google it and you might find it cheaper at other sites like Amazon. That's what happened with our nursery furniture.

@whiska@failuretofly I'd been looking on Wayfair and then saw in one of the reviews for gliders that Wayfair was selling the exact same gliders as Walmart under a different brand name for a higher price. I did a search and sure enough I found the exact same glider I wanted at Walmart under a different name and for $400 less! Granted, Wayfair was having a "sale" so the prices were actually the same, but I bought the Walmart one because I thought that was so dishonest of Wayfair.
On the Wayfair/Wal-Mart front - both Wayfair and Wal-Mart have their own lines of furniture, but they both also use 3rd party furniture sellers, as well. It's always worth checking both places, because like @leilagphillips mentioned, sometimes one will be significantly lower than the other (and not always Walmart)
I know for the wayfair companies (joss and main, allmodern) you also have a price reduction guarantee until something like 7-10 days after you receive the item. So if you keep an eye out and it goes down you just send them an email and they adjust it. I got a price adjustment before an item even shipped.
This is what I did today, all while my2 year old climbed me, ran around, and danced around me. Haha. It’s still wet but I’m impressed with my progress.
@dkizz82 It took me an embarrassingly long amount of time to figure out those were your electric sockets and not paint drips. Methinks I am overdue for an appointment with my optometrist.
@moonlady-2 I am sooooooo in LOVE with your orange!!!!!! I can't wait to see how it ends up!!
Ok so after moving and decorating the second (final) nursery, I am very happy with how it turned out!! I won't bore you with the dresser pics and small walls, but here is my main wall. I am OBSESSED with this peel and stick (and easily unpeels to come down) wall paper for accent walls!! The only thing missing is my mobile over the crib that hasn't arrived. I attached a photo of because it may be my favorite thing for the nursery. Edited to add mobile.
I have a nursery gripe/woe that I just discovered today. We splurged on a nice PBKids dresser with the detachable changing topper because we wanted a dresser that would last long after the diaper years. Well FRICK ALL TO HECK, apparently those sneaky bastards make the topper dimensions just a leeeeeetle off the standard, so you can't just buy any changing pad, you have to buy THEIR brand. I think it's like a 29" topper, and most of the ones at BRU or Target are 32".
@elcd458 amazon has ones that are 30” for under $20, would that be too long? I hate when companies do that. We just bought a Diono car seat because it was over $100 off on Amazon, only to get notice that it was recalled the day it was delivered. Obviously a shady move on their end to move stock before amazon pulled the product.

You guys are so much further along than I am, and your rooms look great. We spent the day today emptying and doing a first coat of paint for our nursery. Dresser and crib arrive Wednesday, so I’m hoping to have the room painted and dry by then so we can assemble furniture and I can start getting organized and decorating! I feel so behind all of you!
@dkizz82 they will issue a kit to us that fixes the problem. It’s something with a possible issue if kiddo is over 65lbs and in forward facing position, so not something we have to worry about right now anyway. Although now I’m struggling to get it to sit in my car at 45 degrees without wiggling back and forth a bunch.....who knew baby gear could be so complicated!

@dkizz82 yup! We ordered it last week and it should be here Wednesday. Thanks for helping me choose!
@djd0404 I’m glad we aren’t the only ones taking our time. I do feel better knowing we’ve accomplished something. Now if we could just settle on a name .....
@kaylawing no problem. We put ours together Saturday. Only took 40 mins. Would of gone faster but they only give you one Allen wrench and we didn’t have another one the size we needed.
@dkizz82 once I read my car’s instruction manual it was easy! Haha. It’s tall so my passenger seat is pretty far forward, but it’s still usable. It came with an angled piece you have to put on to use it rear facing (gets it to the 45 degree angle), but I think there’s some pad thing people buy to prop it up once kiddo has good head control that gives you like 4 extra inches of space.

We’ve had the nursery finished since the end of August (because twins...) but I forgot to post pics. I think it turned out really well based on the vision we had.

@beary67 Your nursery is so gorgeous! My favorite is that adorable elephant hamper! I'm glad that it's all done and one less thing you have to stress over since the end of your pregnancy isn't going quite how you planned... meanwhile, our nursery is all painted but we can't move furniture in yet because the ceiling is disgustingly dirty and needs to be washed. DH tried cleaning it, but I think we're going to need to get a professional to come take care of it. It's so weird because the room right across from it has a perfectly clean ceiling. I think it has to do with the side of our house that's closer to our pond. Pond spores or something... because only those ceilings get gross.
