@pebbledam What do you do for work? Do you work nights? I just came off night shift 6 months ago. I worked 12 hour nights for 16 months and it damn near killed me. I hope you're able to find something different if you're looking!

@antoto like @doxiemoxie212 I've tried the beer. I did see the wine at a GoT party we went to for Halloween, but the host didn't open it. I really want to try it!

@vflux33, @grnmtnmama - I have been working nights for 4 years straight now. The company I work for doesn't pay into SS because they have their own retirement plan. The catch is that you have to be vested in the company to ever see any of that back, which happens at 5 years. The pay and health insurance is great. I really want to be able to take advantage of the health insurance before even considering leaving. I'm just so tired.

@doxiemoxie212 - Depends... If we have DSS, I stay up until he takes a nap and then crash pretty early on Friday night. If we don't have DSS, I will come home and take a 3-ish hour nap. Either way, Saturday I'm up because that's the only full day I get to spend with MH. Sunday I lay down for a nap/sleep in the afternoon and do it all over again.

@pebbledam ugh, right. I'd struggle so much switching my sleep schedule like that. My friend who is in her neurology residency will do like one month of 8pm-10am shifts, and then she'll have to like immediately switch to a 9-5pm shift. I don't know how any of y'all do it! I'd just be so grumpy.
@pebbledam night shift sucks! I only do two nights a week but it's still rough. My mom did the same schedule as you for a few years and she was always really irritable and falling asleep everywhere. Now she does four 10 hour night shifts and she seems to be able to sleep better. Can you switch your schedule to four 10s or three 12s so that you have more days off to recover?

Was supposed to have Buffalo Wild Wings date night with H. Planned specifically for it. Early lunch, clothes that I don't care a lot about, dgaf about putting on makeup... oh, nope. Now we're going to H's friends house where I can make sober small talk and hang out with their two oopsie babies. I'm trying not to be a giant baby over it but I really want to be. For one thing, I would have dressed nicer if I'd been planning on this. Now I get to go full scrub-style.

Lurking while all the girls are still sleeping. Trip is going well so far. We fit more shit than I thought humanly possible into the car (we had to use 3 luggage carts to get it all up to our room). Got the "yes I'm drinking yes that means I'm not KU" talk done and over with fairly quickly. One of the girls wanted to know how it was going and I explained that we were still trying but at the same time basically just waiting for an RE referral for 3 months. She did the whole "well that's soon, you only will have trying a year at that point, just watch you guys will decide to take a break and 2 months later you'll be KU" response. *TW* I'm really regretting that I didn't explain to her that relaxing isn't an option for me. That I have to start progesterone after O or it will end in a miscarriage *End of TW*
Hugs to everyone. I know it sounds weird AF since I don't know any of you IRL, but I miss you guys a lot.
Kind of dumb question... I just don't want to post where I don't belong. I have only been trying since January, but have only had 1 period during that time, and it was Provera induced. I have had ultrasounds and blood work, obviously I am not ovulating, and my female hormones are really high.... I also am starting a clomid cycle.
Can I post on infertility threads? I feel odd about it since we haven't been trying long.
Does anyone know why FF is only giving me one perdicted ovulation day now? Did they make a change to the app or is it because I upgraded to the VIP? I'm used to seeing three yellow predictions vs just one?
Thanks you guys. It turned out okay. I'm trying to go basically alcohol-less but I went ahead and had a glass of wine because a) alcohol and b) I didn't want to have the whole people see I'm not drinking and they get hopeful eyes and either I let it continue or correct it and I was in no mood for all of it. I'm glad we went. It turns out that it was H's friend's birthday (dude, you don't know your friend's birthday? They've only been friends for 15+ years) and their original plans fell through so it ended up being a very small party for him.
@KariAnn323 If there's an opportunity, I would follow up with the rest of the info. The more people learn gently from friends that saying that stuff is kinda stupid and potentially painful, the better.
@holly321 I think that anyone who is in testing or treatment is welcome. Can you define "female hormones" though? I'm confused because there are a number of hormones that are associated with women. Estrogen? Progesterone? Prolactin?
Fun fact: dudes on steroids can end up with high prolactin so they'll take drugs like Cabergoline to reduce it.

@holly321 I want to first say that I am not comfortable being a sole representative of the IF thread, however, my advice would be to maybe dip your toe in the water so to speak and try posting there next week; if you're not feeling very comfortable after that then you can go back to the daily threads. It is not necessarily about the amount of time that you have been trying but your journey up until this point and your general attitude about it.
The one thing I will caution you about is the use of clomid and that it really should be closely monitored under the care of an RE. Many OBs will hand it out but they do not monitor and because there is a relatively short life on it (no more than 6 cycles) many do not recommend "wasting" any of those opportunities.
What testing have you done so far?

@JJMNO1616 Since you've been tracking, has your O been pretty consistent as far as the CD it happens? It could be that FF was waiting for enough information to pinpoint it more accurately. If I remember correctly, I think this is your 5th cycle tracking...?

@lulu1180 I just started my 6th cycle tracking. The weird thing is FF is predicting O will be on CD15 when it has been CD14 the past two cycles. I have actually never Oed on CD15 since I've been tracking! My O day for my first three cycles were either CD16 or 17 though... so I assume it's taking somewhat of an average?
That's exactly what it's doing @JJMNO1616. You'll notice that the longer you track, the better it will get at predicting both O and CD1. I have had O anywhere from CD9-CD12 but FF has O predicted at CD10 next cycle, which happens to be my most common O day

@garnetandgoldgrace That's horrible! Yeah, I almost drowned a couple times when I was younger too. I think that's part of why I get those dreams... Be careful at the ocean, friends!
You guys, I got carded yesterday at a winery. I just turned 34 last week and never thought I'd be carded again. But since there is 1 person on the planet who wasn't sure if I might be possibly maybe a tad under 21, I feel more confident as a human. I gloated for about 2 hours to MH last night who probably hasn't been carded for at least 10 years.
I'm going to try really hard to pretend this had nothing to do with the fact that I'm, like, 2 feet tall.
@jsnakehole I used to be like that (probably also due to height), but now that I'm officially mid-30s getting carded is the best. I will gladly take the 4 seconds of flipping through my wallet as a sacrifice for the confidence boost.
