Just got home from my interview- I made it to round 2! I just have to do a second round interview with some of the APs that supervise the schools and do a demo. Overall, the person I interviewed with seemed very impressed with me.

Okay, because of my Bachelor obsession, I follow a bunch of them on instagram for funzies, and because Jade/Tanner keep hocking the Ava bracelet, the ads for it are now following me around the internet. Has anyone on here tried it? At first I was like, oh a fit bit that tracks when your period arrives? Dumb. But apparently it auto tracks your BBT, heart rate, etc.?? Sounds too good to be true. Thoughts??

That is interesting! I was reading a little more about it on their site but saw the price and for $200 no thank you. I will stick with my $10 thermometer

So who else is watching this Dirty Dancing remake? My husband and I have now had a long conversation about all the ways Patrick Swayze exuded sex appeal as Johnny. This remake guy can dance alright, but c'mon. smh

@elisek I refuse to watch it.  Dirty Dancing is one of those iconic movies that should be left alone.  You will never find a more perfect Johnnie than Patrick Swayze and no one could every play Baby better than Jennifer Gray.

@elisek, and what was up with the ending? I didn't think any of the dancing was all that great.
ETA: the scene I missed the most was the sister's talent show song. This version had a cutesy scene, but I loved the awful singing in the original. It was the best.

I just flipped through the screenshots of the Dirty Dancing remake on IMDB and it looked so terrible just from the pictures that I am 100% avoiding seeing it.

I ended up only watching the first 15 minutes then checking back in for 10 minutes later. It was so bad. No one had chemistry with anyone.

Yeah I definitely could not watch the remake. Why even remake something so good and iconic?! With B list actors no less!

@lulu1180 - Abigail Breslin was Baby, Sarah Hyland was the sister, Debra Messing was the mom and Bruce Greenwood (not a name I would remember, but def someone I recognized from many many things). The Johnny only had like three acting credits before this and I didn't recognize anyone else. Well except for Billy Dee Williams I guess. I am generally opposed to remakes, but I think at least you need to have a different take for it to have any point whatsoever. But it's set at exactly the same time with much of the same dialogue and almost the same plot with just a few extra bits here and there. It was like Abigail Breslin was trying to act like Jennifer Grey, not Baby. I still would've snarked hard but might have at least mildly been interested if they'd changed up the time or setting or had done a female Johnny or black/latinx Houseman family or something.

@pebbledam That sleep thing is no joke. I'm sorry if you mentioned this before, but are you sold on staying at this job? Because that alone would kill any job for me. And I couldn't imagine working like that KU... I know people do it because they have to and they get by, but it just sounds SO AWFUL.
