Here's good venting thread for when people decide that it's totally appropriate to say inappropriate things just because you're pregnant and there for they have free reign. Or it could be just things people say/ask that irk you.

Since it's my 3rd, I'm getting really sick of "Are you hoping for a boy/trying for a boy?"

Also when I was ridiculously pregnant with Dd2, someone said "look at THAT beer gut!"

"Oh I see a baby bump!" No you don't, you just see my belly fat. Then they suck their teeth at me and give me a look that says they don't believe me. Then I grab a handful of fat and pull it away from my body. I still get the look. I promise I'm not just being hard on myself, it really is fat. And it's ok. Really.

I got that when I was having my son, my first. I breastfed and slept a lot when he did. And still managed to get stuff done. Best advice I got was sleep when they do even if it's an hour up and an hour down. It adds up!

- why don't you want to do a gender reveal? The whole point is more gifts! (The whole convo was weird to me)

@joforyoga That was always my grandmother's favorite when I was pregnant with DD. I will say, she sleeps about 11-12 hours a night now and I sleep pretty good myself . It may have felt like I'd never sleep again for the first few months though lol.

@feeislove  We go home to visit at the end of May and I'm really hoping I'm more bump than fat at that point. My family hasn't seen me since Christmas, so I'm sure they are going to have to be like "ohhh look at your belly". My mom asks me ALL the time.."are you showing yet?!". 

Though I'm guilty of it myself. and I know it's meant well..I do get tired of "how are you feeling?!"....It's all people ask me when they see me at church lol. It's usually the same people. Then my cousin announced she's pregnant last night (we are 5 weeks apart!), and I said "how have you been feeling?" haha. 

My grandfather is SO bad about asking people who are expecting their second (or third, fourth, etc.)...."Well, y'all haven't figured out what causes that yet?!" lol. So awkward, but it's so his personality.

I hate it when the first thing people do when they find out you're pregnant is to share a pregnancy horror story  Thanks for getting me all anxious and worked up that something bad is going to happen

I don't know what it is about a pregnant woman that makes other people want to share their labor stories in detail, especially unsolicited and even more especially if it's a "bad" labor story. 

I hate the comments about the size of my bump and/or my overall size. If you need to say something, just say, you look great! Mostly I just get people asking me how many we're going to have...I don't know why people feel like it's okay to ask about a person's reproduction but anyhow....

I have one, and this wasn't an accident. It was planned. I'm not upset about it. I want the small little baby, thanks tho!

When I told a female colleague that I was expecting she said, "oh yes I noticed you were getting bigger" uhm thanks. Didn't realize I was getting "bigger" not that it matters. I'm growing a baby!

@PizzaMonster3 the "did you plan this?" question... is so weird to me too. It's right up there with "are you excited?" like what am i really gonna say to that?? "no this wasn't planned, and we aren't excited at all..." just weird...

-You want to pay for it ?!? I only do 3rd trimester 3D... so unless you're fronting the cash, shut yo face!

-Yes , because we totally didn't think of that when having sex making the baby. (DD2 will be 7 soon)

I'm still in school (working on my doctorate) and have had several fellow students and professors say "Congrats!....Wait, is it congrats?" 

Ugh. Yes. This baby was planned, and DH and in a good position in life to start a family. I hate how being in school makes people think a baby is a horrible accident.

"You're so small!" I'm a couple days shy of 16 weeks, and I'm a first time mom. Did you think the baby starts out at birth size and weight in there? I mean, I know I had to explain how I'm growing the baby to my 7yr old SD, but I didn't think so many grown people would be making comments like this. It just makes you unnecessarily worry sometimes.

Another good one? "I didn't think they'd let you do a registry this early since you just don't know..." Got that a few days ago when we told MIL we'd started our registry since we had a free weekend. Soooo, should we wait until the baby is here or maybe when labor starts...?

These are really pale in comparison to some here, but I'm barely starting to show so I expect much more.

My psychiatrist asked "How did this happen?" And "You're keeping the baby?"  I also get asked every time I go if I'm "still pregnant?"  (Man, I wish I could find another psychiatrist)

People keep saying the bit about being "outnumbered"  and I'm like, we were outnumbered at 2.  Florence takes at least 2 adults to keep up with her...

During my last pregnancy a nurse and I were discussing the care of a patient. I felt the patient really needed more done and we needed the doctor. I finally said "I may be wrong, but I really think the patient needs this and this..." The nurse got quit and looked at me and said "Well, the blood flow IS going to the baby and not your brain these days". No joke. I gave her a disgusted look and muttered something under my breath. Needless to say, the blood flow was still running to my head bc when the doc got there I was right.

I got that response from TWO family members in the same day. I'm thrilled to have 2 girls. I don't need to have "1 of each" to be a happy Mom. Geez.

Omg! I got the worst looks at Starbucks yesterday. I got a half caff ( because I was maxed out with my caffeine form earlier in the day) but you woulda thunk I had 4 extra shots in my drink from the eye rolls.

One of my ER docs replaced my Diet Pepsi on the desk with a bottle of water... she's lucky she still has hands... I work 12 hour nights and can hardly stay awake as it is... don't touch my shit!!

No one said anything to me, but I got stares. I don't even think i look that pregnant, but I had 1 glass of red wine the 1.5 hour DH and I were out to eat. When I stood up to go pee, the looks I got from the table across from me pissed me off!

I got my first one the other night at the pharmacy. Went to pick up a prescription, it was flagged and they had to ask me if I'm pregnant. I answered yes. So as I'm going to leave, the tech goes "oh here's a coupon you'll be needing. Not now, but soon I'm sure". It was a formula coupon that printed out at checkout. I just looked at her and go "probably not, but thanks"

Thank you for assuming how I'm going to be feeding my baby.

@sjohns08 I feel like most people assume formula. I breastfed both my girls and plan for this one as well. It was brought up when I was doing some registry stuff at work last week and my co worker was like " I just could never. I don't understand how anyone could. I mean , ouch my body! " I'm like okay lady, that's fine and dandy for you. But it's not a bad thing for me. So imma do it, mmmmkay?!??

@canonmom413 I find it odd when women have such strong opinions against breastfeeding before they even have started contemplating having children. I have a friend like that. She doesn't even have a boyfriend, no medical issues and zero experience with breastfeeding. But she swears she will never even think about attempting it. I'm all for the choice, whatever floats your boat, but I still think it's strange to make that decision at that point in your life and to be so adamant about it.

@bluejeanbabi05 I didn't grow up around people who BF. When my youngest cousins were born, they were all formula fed and I didn't know any other way. Once I got older and realized hey, that's what boobs are for, it was such a strange concept to me and I never really thought i would do it. Even when I was pregnant with my first, I wasn't sure until about a month before she was born that I was even going to attempt it. Then I was so not committed to it and gave up the first week. Even now it's hard because my mom only did for a week or two with my brother and I and MIL never BF. So it's something I had to figure out on my own and while they tried to be supportive, in their minds it was like "well why don't you just go to formula then since this is hard?". It's irritating

My second was BF until 6 weeks and my third was exclusively until her first birthday. I plan on trying with this one, I'm not sure I'll be able to since I had a breast reduction a year and a half ago.

Same! We got married in Nov. Some relatives have wondered if I'm following in my parents footsteps since I was born a few days before their 10 month anniversary
