Maybe this belongs in the carrier thread, although I suspect I'm the only one that can't figure this out...how does one wear a carrier and carry a bag with baby essentials?? The beauty of a stroller is all of the storage for diapers, etc. I'm debating getting a Tula and just can't for the life of me figure out how I would wear the carrier and carry my handbag...help!
@pshaortao yes, my symptoms started last night. I had some anxiousness last night and decided to try to sleep. My heart started pounding, I got really cold, I started shivering uncontrollably and started hyperventilating. I didn't know what was happening. And it past after about a half hour. And then at about 4am, my nurse took Emma for her hearing test. She only took her out of the room to allow me to sleep. It backfired very quickly. All of my symptoms from before came back. The nurse brought her back to me after about 20 minutes and within ten minutes I was calm. Today I haven't been apart from her at all. But there's some residual anxiousness. My heart rate is still elevated. I talked to my OB about it when he got in this morning. He referred me to psych and I met with them today. I have upcoming appts with a psychiatrist and psychologist.

Most people use a back pack when using a carrier.

I have a question... possibly TMI, but I doubt much is at this point... When do you worry about spotting? I had literally 3-4 drops of bright red spotting last night, no other odd discharge so I don't think it was because of the mucus plug or anything. tapered off to pink a few hours later and has since stopped. so at what point do I call about bleeding? I've always heard bright red bleeding, but this was literally 3 drops?

I personally have not used a Tula before, but my Ergo has these pockets so I could put my money, ID, phone and key in it. So I would just stick all of that in and just be completely hand free while going on errands alone with DD when she was smaller, and I would leave the diaper bag in the car. I plan to use the Solly wrap with this LO in the beginning while he's still small and obviously there won't be any pockets or whatever unless I actually wear shorts/pants with pockets. I have a diaper backpack this time so I can still be handfree since I also have DD to deal with.

Have you had any tough poops, cervical checks, or sex? If there's no reason you can think of for having any blood, I'd probably call.

Thanks, @PartiallyDomesticated and @pshaortao! I knew I was probably overthinking it. My instinct was a backpack, but that seemed a little impossible with the thicker strap carrier. I think I will just get one and figure it out! I guess if I leave diapers in the car, the rest of my stuff should fit in the pockets on the carrier and my pant pockets.

Yea, any recent cervical check? Definitely call. I got a scolding from my office on not calling on my bleeding after an exam.
I kind of just want to sit here and eat all the candy and drink my coke for the rest of the afternoon.
That sounds about how I plan on my night at work going. Fingers crossed no one comes in angry and wanting to speak to a manager tonight, because I'm checked out!
@nda_roxybabe@KMD1106 no cervical checks, there was sex though, it was a few hours prior ad I had been to the bathroom in between though with no spotting then :-/
I gave L&D a call and they weren't concerned, because it wasn't accompanied by contractions, and it had stopped. said to come in if it shows up again.

@PartiallyDomesticated - unless there was something that touched your cervix that could explain the bleeding, I would definitely call, even if it was only a few drops of red blood.

@michelle59-2 I'm sorry to hear what you're going through. I'm glad you're getting support. I hope DH is also helping. Hang in there! We're here for you.
@PartiallyDomesticated Scary! But if it stopped and there was no cramping, it sounds like the sex is to blame. Always good to call though.
I know I'm late to the game, but about the organ donation/life saving interventions: it's really sad to think people feel they can't trust emergency responders to treat them fully if they're donators. In all of the patients I've had who have passed, I didn't know their donor status until long after they were declared deceased. It's not advertised in an emergency situation, ever. I agree with what other have said @rkstro2 and @ShadeofGreen816. Just sad to think people feel that way.
I fell down the damn garage stairs at my parents! The bruise on my butt and elbow better be huge and dark because the stupid thing hurts! Sitting on ice tonight. Baby has been moving a lot now. I think he just got sloshed around, but I keep wondering if I should call. Probably will just monitor through the evening. Holy hip pain batman!
On a positive I bought a train table with underneath rolling storage bins on a garage sale site tonight for a steal!! I never check those things so it was such a fluke last night when I saw it. Apparently my way to prepare for new baby is to buy first baby a bunch of big toys. This is my third big toy purchase this week.
@PartiallyDomesticated Are you like me and secretly kind of hoping it was bloody show and you were getting this show on the road? :P
I was hoping! I am officially more pregnant than I have ever been before and am ready to rip this kid out with my bare hands if I have too! I mean I want him to stay in as long as possible etc etc, but I'm running on 3hrs of broken sleep and a latte today, at least a newborn will fall asleep at some point and I can take a nap, this is ridiculous! My ribcage must also be starting to expand, my chest and upper back are aching so badly this morning

Oh no! that is NOT fun. I had a naaaaasty bruise when I fell down the stairs a couple months ago. I'd give them a call since your butt and hips are hurting. I'm sure baby is fine (esp. since they're moving), but you know.
@Kipperoo I never had a problem wearing my diaper bag on my shoulder with the ergo. Maybe I have super wide shoulders but the bag straps eotjer sat to the side or on top of the ergo straps just fine.
@Louise_Belcher So sorry to hear about your fall! I'd call just to let them know. I'd think they'd be fine with not monitoring since baby is moving, but it's easier to call with no regrets than not call and regret it (I've learned this week!) Keep us posted.
@Louise_Belcher - I would call. It probably is nothing but my ob specifically told me to call if I had a fall (we were talking about slipping on snow at the time).

@louise_belcher Yikes! Falls can be scary this far along. I'm glad baby is moving, but I agree with PPs about calling to let doc know. There isn't nearly as much cushioning as there used to be.
And yay for the awesome deal on a train table. Mine loves trains.
So sorry about your fall @Louise_Belcher! I hope it doesn't hurt for too long, pregnant ladies have enough discomfort to deal with! I'd probably call OB just to be safe as well. When I was in triage the other day for some extended monitoring, on the sign about "when to come in/stay at home" it actually listed any falls under come in!

@Louise_Belcher -- Just echoing everyone here who says to call post-fall. I fell around 8 months in my last pregnancy, stepped on a piece of fruit at Whole Foods and my legs flew out from under me. Almost comical, but ouch! Anyway, baby was moving afterward, no bleeding, no contractions. I had a wicked scrape on one arm, and that was it. But everyone I told, including my OB a full week later, tore me a new one for not calling.
@Kipperoo -- I used the Ergo a lot last time and had a diaper bag with backpack straps. I'm sure I looked ridiculous, but I felt oddly balanced! If it were a short errand, though, I usually just stuck my keys, phone, and cash in the pocket.
Totally random, but worth the giggle and understanding from other pregnant and potty training moms.
DH isn't home tonight bc of military meetings. It's tough to work all day 37 weeks pregnant and then come home and play single mom. Anyway I was enjoying a somewhat relaxing bath (considering that I was sharing it with a toddler) and I hear a grunt. I asked if he needed to poop. He said yes. We made a mad dash to the toilet and he dropped a man sized turd. Relieved and happy for multiple reasons. I never thought we'd be at the peak of potty training so close to my EDD.

I managed to get potty training out of the way in January just before DS started preschool, so I haven't really had to deal with it while majorly pregnant, I do not envy you having to potty train, and play single mom right now. I just wish DS would use the toilet and not just the potty, but we're getting there, I'd much rather empty the potty than change a diaper!

@PartiallyDomesticated glad you called and they were reassuring. From someone who just went through it, my first bleed was like a period bleed and they kept me for four days. Second and third were worse. A few drops sounds like a response to sex but glad you called just in case.
@slowmo Gah!! I super don't want to get ripped apart by my awesome and intimidating tiny Russian OB when I see her Monday. My plan unless something changes is to call in the morning to let them know.
