  • @WombThereItIs I have a cavity appointment Thursday not looking forward to it!
I'm 36 weeks and just recently my bra started to feel real full wondering if anyone else is in same boat!

@erinh2005 we let our passes lapse this past winter because I just couldn't do the parks all day (disclaimer I have SPD and pelvic issues so I was already having a hard time back in december) I suggest renting a scooter or wheel chair if you are worried about not being able to keep up all day.

@WombThereItIs i've put off my cleaning since like november :| so when i finally go it will have been a year instead of 6 months... I get really sensitive gums/teeth when i'm pregnant, probably not the best idea but I stand by my decision... no shame!

  • I'm overdue for a cleaning and haven't made an effort because my gum are already sensitive when not pregnant. Ugh. Shame on me. But I will get it done sometimes this summer!

As for a full day at Disney, just stay well hydrated and if you feel the need to, sit down and prop your feet up here and there while you can. Maybe mostly during rides?

DH is off work this week so hopefully it ewill be relaxing yet productive. The man really needed a break! He seems like he's been burnt out on everything lately, between work and making time for us and little projects.

  • @WombThereItIs at least you're getting it over with and you don't have to worry about going when baby is here?  Sorry, I HATE the dentist so I feel for you.

@Jens_Hoes sorry you're miserable! I am also 34 weeks and I can't believe I have 6 weeks left. I'm definitely getting uncomfortable. Not sure if this will help you, but when DS was all up in my ribs I would grab the bottom of my belly on the opposite side of where he was poking (so if his feet were under the right side of my rib cage I would grab the bottom left of my belly). I would gently pull my whole belly up and toward the side he was poking, so actually pushing him further inder my rib cage, then I'd release. I found it actually got him to move a bit and relieve some of the discomfort. Hopefully this helps for you!

Now if anyone has any suggestions for a baby who is super low and constantly head butting my bladder, I'm all ears...
  • +1 on the crankiness. I'd forgotten how much the question "so how are you feeling" could piss me off. I don't sleep, everything hurts, this child is using my bladder as a punching bag, I've had contractions on and off for the last week and I'm stuck coming into this damn office every day. How do you think I feel?

Also - am I in the minority here? I love getting my teeth cleaned! LOL

This weekend I discovered the best thing ever... the Kroger by my house has something called "click list". Basically online you pick out all your groceries (it has all the things you currently buy saved to make it extra fast) then you go, park in the parking lot, call them and they load everything in your car, and there wasn't any fees! I was so excited, this is like life changing stuff here... I hate grocery shopping and it saved me probably 1.5 hours of time. I definitely recommend checking out your grocery stores to see if they offer something similar!
I love that! I shop at Kroger primarily so I am going to see if my store offers this service! Thanks for sharing!

  • I LOVE click list at Kroger. It took a few tries to get the hang of where the glitches were but it was well worth it. Not having to walk the whole store with a toddler is an amazing, amazing gift.

@WombThereItIs I had my cleaning last week too. Guess who has prenatal gingivitis!! I have a cleaning every 4 months because I have a permanent wire behind my lower teeth but I guess I got lucky anyhow :| Also I was running late to my appt by 10 minutes and was looking for street parking and someone absolutely DESTROYED a parked car in the exact place I usually park. I almost had a heart attack thinking it could have been mine had I been on time! They were getting arrested when I left my appointment so I think they might have been drunk or high...

  • Ugh I got my teeth cleaned and I have a cavity. I have to get that filled tomorrow. Also @WombThereItIs  @hp_momma  have y'all seen that the dental insurance is changing? Apparently it's a big deal and lots of dental places won't be taking out insurance anymore. It happens in May I think.

@erinh2005 I did Busch Gardens a couple weeks ago. Basically make sure you're keeping up on the liquids. I took the stroller and it was nice to have something to lean on even when DD was walking. I also sat down any chance I could while my parents took DD on rides. I was sore the next day and my fit swelled a bit, but it wasn't bad. I hope y'all have fun!
  • Was hoping to run errands this morning but I'm still hurting from this weekend. Trying to work but I got very little sleep last night and can't focus. Plus there's a workman here repairing our garbage disposal. I just really want to go back to bed!
  • @bacorrea wait, is it possible for even fewer places to take the dental plan than do now? I can find regular dentists okay-ish for me but for the kid and for my root canals nobody takes it here. Most places just discount heavily for military instead because apparently MetLife was a bear to deal with and they would rather make the same money by discounting directly to me instead of fighting with them. Hopefully the same flexibility continues?

@clebl24 Yeah they skipped my xrays in the fall because of the pregnancy, this was just a cleaning and an exam to keep an eye on a molar I am missing part of. Thankfully she just said to find a new dentist once we PCS and get a crown and I should be good.

  • @WombThereItIs I think it's not going to
be MetLife anymore? From what I've read about it dental offices basically won't be making any money and we are going to be paying more? I honestly forgot it was happening. I have to find new dentist anyway since we are moving so I'm just like meh about it.
  • @erinh2005I'd definitely second getting something to get around in (i.e. scooter). I hope you have fun!
@WombThereItIs I hate the dentist too, so good luck!
@Jens_Hoes and everyone else uncomfortable and/or cranky... sorry you're miserable! I'm with @RainyDays86. I swear this baby plays with my bladder, tapping it, squishing it, pinching it. I'm getting to that "ready to have my body back" stage. I didn't sleep at all last night (or Saturday night) and I'm so annoyed with the lack of sleep.
  • @WombThereItIs wait...so they won't do a crown while pregnant? Ugh...I should've just done it last time the cavity was loose.
  • @WombThereItIs ahh I wish I could go to the dentist again while pregnant. I hate the dentist no matter how often I floss and brush (2x/day) I always have something. When I went in last fall pregnant they were awesome. "Oh we won't do x rays, are you comfortable? We will have you out of here real quick". It was awesome! My next appt it also 2 weeks ppt while H is still home and I'm dreading it. Wish I could go again earlier

ugh our island sink is clogged and I just don't want to deal with it. I hate having to call service people into our house. So it's been like that for a few days and if I don't call someone it won't get done bc H isn't home enough to deal with it unless is late at night or weekend. Blah.
  • @bacorreaans @WombThereItIs Dental is changing back to United Concordia starting May 1st. DH has been in 9yrs and United Concordia is who we had originally and then it switched to Metlife a few years ago. I'm hoping both mine and the kids dentist still accept it, but I don't ever remember having any issues with United Concordia in the past. I think it's just people gossiping like usual. Our monthly premium is actually going to be less now (by a couple dollars).

I feel for all of you on the dentist topic! I have huge anxiety over going to the dentist. Trauma from when I was little. I have sensitive guns and teeth even when not pregnant and had the start of periodontal disease. I've had to have a cleaning every 3 months for awhile now and have had 2 since being pregnant and one filling during second tri. I missed my last one because well I was just over it haha and my hygienist was on maternity and once I find someone I'm comfortable with I have a hard time going to a new person! Especially without my Meds!

Good of luck to all of you going to he dentist soon!!

I had one done in the first tri last time, I think it just depends. I think for me the issue was more that I am due in 5 weeks and moving 5-6 weeks after that and she didn't want to get the ball rolling on something that would make me have to come back for multiple visits even closer to my due date and so shortly after delivery. It doesn't hurt or need more filling or a root canal so its a low priority thing.

@hp_momma yeah I figure it will be fine. I have to find all new offices anyway so whatever. This does remind me I need to haul in the 2 year old for a visit in the next few weeks or so. I should really just hold off until husband has some time off while outprocessing because I did it last time and he was a total bear. I don't think I have the stamina for another round of toddler dental MMA right now.

"an increase from the annual maximum benefit cap (in other words, the most Tricare will pay per person, per year for dental coverage) is increasing from $1,300 to $1,500. Next, sealants will carry no out-of-pocket cost, instead of a 20 percent copay. And finally, 1-year-old kids registered in DEERS will be automatically added to a dependent’s dental plan (in the past kids weren’t auto-added until they turned four)."

It says our family monthly premium is dropping from $34 to $28. So besides maybe having to find a new dentist (which you both have to do anyways with a PCS) it sounds like nothing to worry about!

This weekend we are celebrating DDs third bday :o! We have a day at Disney planned and I'll be 36 1/2weeks so just looking for advice on how to be so pg and still have a good time since I know some of you have done parks recently or in prior pregnancies. I'm nervous I'm gonna overdo it somehow and wreck her day!
Just rest and drink lots of water. We did a disneyland day at 37 weeks last time and I went into labor the next day. I always kind of felt like it was alllllll the walking and possibly dehydration....

  • @sweaterboots my FMIL had bought us annual passes to universal/islands of adventure last year for Christmas. Well we didn't go much in the spring, then I found out I was pregnant in July. I felt so bad, because the pass was literally wasted as I couldn't ride ANYTHING so we never even really went! Disney world has a ton of things (especially at Magic Kingdom) that I was able to continue to ride while pregnant.

  • @jayandaplus thank you!!!! Since DS2 came at 37 and with all that's gone on I never ever thought we would make it this far!! But I'm hoping the steroids and extra week (at least) of cooking in there will keep us out of the NICU this time.
    Thank you for the encouragement!!

@mamatowildones :o So maybe I try getting more done before this weekend than I originally planned!
  • @hp_momma you are just an abyss of knowledge! Thanks! That's cool about 1 year olds being enrolled automatically! I hope ours goes down! We pay $34 right now, which is super
cheap to begin with! Luckily I don't need new dentist until October! I have lots of time to find new ones for us at Bliss.

Google is my friend  It will be nice to save a few bucks a month, but I was happy with the $34 amount too!
My kids see a dentist here, mainly because I wanted a pediatric one close by in case of emergency. But I have such a phobia of the dentist that I still see my dentist back home in Arizona! There's no regional networks you have to stay in with dental as long as they are in-network so I just schedule my visits when I visit home! We are always home at least once a year, but 95% of the time I've been able to make it home twice a year so it works out.
