@purplestarz Yeah, I don't think I would pair up with anyone I wasn't already comfortable with. Last time I had been PMing with mine before we paired up. And actually it was probably not the best pairing because 1) our due dates were a day apart and then 2) she had an early RCS and then DS came the day after. So she was still in the hospital when my water broke and I texted her at 3:00am like "OMG!"
But luckily she was awake because, new baby.

@carries2018 No lie my H and I were at the mall a few months again and saw a 5-6 year old in a stroller drinking juice out of a bottle. Not a sippy. A baby's bottle. It was so odd.
@cooaladolll I feel like now that I've made that statement, in a few weeks pregnancy brain is going to take over and all I'll be able to eat is ice cream.
My family is totally a tapas kind of family. We love to go out, order a bunch of apps or small dishes, and just pick off of all the plates. Our idea of dessert is usually a bottle of wine. Oh how I miss it.
@bluejeanbabi05 It's someone you exchange contact info with and alert them when you are in labor so they can tell the BMB for you since you'll be otherwise occupied.

i did the labor buddy thing. it was stupid bc it wasn't like i called her, i texted her the info which i could have easily just input the text on TB instead of PM. but LBs led to our "secret side FB group" which led to a melt down on my BMB when we were outted, which led to the first split of my BMB. and ultimately i broke up with my LB. dramaz 4 dayz son! soOooOOooo. i think we should do LBs.
@purplestarz I totally agree with you about labor buddies. But maybe it depends on the BMB dynamic. By that time a core group from my BMB had already moved to FB and they were the only ones I cared about updating so I could easily do that myself. I broke up with my original labor buddy from TB..
Am I the only one who was updating my BMB (on FB) the whole time I was in labor? I had an epidural and DH was asleep so I had nothing else to do, and it kept me entertained!
+1 @riverraine H was playing on his phone, i was updating the group. i mean what else am i supposed to do? gaze into my husband's eyes for 7 hours about the miracle happening?
Lol @carries2018 yesterday I was talking to DH about nursing and how I'm really going to get caught up on tv shows during. He goes, but won't you be too preoccupied with staring at baby and thinking how much you love her?
Every single time I nurse, every single second??
Eta: am I a bad person for thinking it's going to get boring to nurse sometimes?

NO! bc you will get bored. and even more so you will think "ZOMG just hurry up i have so much to do!" i mean it is nice bonding and all that once your nipples heal. but after hour 2 you are like JUST GIVE ME MY BOOB BACK!
I walked away for like, 2 seconds and I come back to 50 comments
@natleilynn I don't know what kind of monsters you go out to eat with but my DH have an understanding that if an App is ordered, we're going big and dessert is 100%.
No app = no dessert = (likely) We probably are broke as a joke.
Also yes, I will be on my phone my entire labor. That's the only way to be!
@carries2018 all the potatoes! I don't think I've ever met one I don't like. Baked, twice baked, mashed, fried, roasted, skins... I need all the starch.
We took DD1's pacific away right after she turned 2. Cold turkey. First night she screamed for about an hour and a half, second night was between 30-45 minutes, third night maybe 10 minutes and by the fourth night, she was over it. I'm the type to rip off the band aid and just remember they can't be pissed forever. DS and dd2 prefer their thumb over paci, so I'm cool with that. DS is almost 6 and still sucks his thumb, but so did I and I know it's just something they grow out of on their own so I have zero intentions of trying to break the habit (dentist says this as well)
I love sweets, but in moderation. Otherwise I feel like crap, so usually I'll grab more of a salty snack and then one tiny sweet snack to finish it off
Arby's is ok, not usually my first choice, but it's one of only 3 places we can go to quick that all 5 of us will eat at.
I think that gets me caught up. I'm mad it was so dead and then I take an hour to shower and get dressed and boom, 60 new posts.
UO why do you guys have to be so Bump-productive today while I have to work!? I can't keep up so you can just stop now!
I'll probably just be love tit-ing away for the remainder of the day when I can pop in.
But I did want to add I loved having a Labor Buddy to just talk to and get to know and pester with the "is this actual labor" questions a million times a day. I would so be up for just having a Pregnancy Buddy instead of naming it a LB. But yeah, I can update my labor myself. Also, we didn't get buddies until we were already in the FB group which made it so much easier to message and keep up with as opposed to TB.
@Myelhsa I'm on your side - that's exactly what I'm saying - I get an appetizer, you'd better believe I'm getting dessert. There's no either/or involved here.

Oh, @aprilsarahjune@purplestarz I'm definitely not against using them in general. I tried SO many with DD, just because of it reducing the risk of SIDS (and because the 3 month sleep regression was torture lol). She just preferred me as a pacifier more lol. I imagine we will try again with this one too.
@dajocl I totally get using the for sleep that long. That's definitely when I would have had a hard time taking it, if it were me. The girl that was wishing her 1 1/2 year old would still take his has a 3 year old that keeps hers in her mouth at ALL times. That's when it irks me lol.
@natleilynn JEALOUS! I would loveee some Arby's right now. We are going home to visit in 6 weeks and I'm already planning lunch there when our plane lands haha. I always ask for a cup of their Red Ranch too (it's the sauce that's on the beef & cheddar).
@jessafishy We don't have Arby's either and now that's all I want haha. Our nearest is at least an hour away. I used to live like a mile away from one.
My UO comes from the POTD: I cannot stand mixing salt with sweet. They must be taken in separate bites and must be on opposite sides of the plate. I will even go as far as eating bacon first and then getting pancakes to ensure it doesn't touch a drop of syrup.
Re: Pacis - we cold turkey took it away around 18 months. I had to get the scoop on pros and cons from the pediatrician because I was ready to, but DH was less ready to. Pedi said 1) Yes, helps with SIDS prevention, but at >1 year (probably earlier) the risk for SIDS is ALMOST gone anyways; 2) It can alter teeth growth, positioning, and development; 3) Can lead to permanent bucking of the lips; and 4) Can exacerbate ear infections.
I had enough ammo to tell DH we were going to pull the paci. He was only using it for naps and bedtime at that point anyways.

@natleilynn You and I are on a wild friendship rollercoaster today. I was just about to post that we can be dinner buddies and go out for apps and desserts together, except that I would most certainly be ordering a SODA.
Labor buddies for my last BMB was a little atypical for the TB because it was after many us migrated to a FB group during bump implosion of 2015. We did "virtual waiting rooms" as events in the group. I thought it was really awesome. In fact, I did a separate virtual waiting room for our immediate families since we were giving birth in Seattle and our families were in the midwest - then we didn't have to bug people with group and/or individual texts. My family loved it.

i wouldn't kick it out of bed. but i dont go gaga for bacon. it is meh to me. fine if it is there, i am not missing anything if it is not.
Yeah I can get that. There's also a certain way it needs to be cooked for me to be "Gaga" about it. Don't be coming at me with your limp bacon and expect me to just go all cray and open up my mouth for you...
...are we still talking about bacon? Things got weird there for a sec.
fun fact: my family is from the midwest. i was born and raise in New England. when i was little we went out to visit, my older/cooler cousins asked me if i wanted a pop. i was sofa king thirsty. but i thought they meant a lollipop so i declined. a few minutes later they were all drinking soda, and i was too embarrassed/shy to ask for one. i am here today to tell you of my survival story.
