@Ash_SE that's great that you got the ok. 14 days past transfer does seem long. That's what I had as well.... I think in my clinic they wanted to see higher numbers so they let you wait longer.

Ash_SE i think one of the questions i had on the genders u already answered here Very interesting how it was a 50/50 split. Your OH is funny! You're very nice to let him pick! Hoping i have a litter to choose from too Its exciting how much closer u are getting yay!!!
csp2017 I missed ur post earlier and we always want to find a reason as to why it doesn't happen on our own. I thought for sure my egs have a harder lining and OH swimmers can't get through BUT that wasn't the case...I joke with OH that his boys have no sense of direction I still feel like my body did something to cause the MC but I'm never gonna know that answer either as everything that has been tested all comes back ok. Don't look at what ur body can't do and look how great ur body was and gave u such strong embabies already, have some faith that it will continue and your uterus will be ready to go. I need to take my own advice too but just try. I'm not on cycle 5 so i know its not easy...this is a tough road and so far your doing great!!
AFM: Going in for monitoring tomorrow BUT whats crazy is i got a call from the genetic lab today and apparently they sent my samples out to be tested instead of batching them altogether which was suppose to be after this cycle and i believe is going to cost me more now...I'm just so confused. Of course im now anxious to hear the results I just don't get how there was a miscommunication on this. Nothing ever goes easy. Has this happened to anyone before??

I'm going to push back on my Beta . 14 days past a 5 day blast transfer is too long for someone with my history of a ruptured Ectopic. I'm going to push for 9 days past the transfer as that seems reasonable. If they don't agree, I'll go to a Patient First and with my history they will test it.
this board is getting nice and active! i was away for the long weekend at my in-laws for Passover and forgot to bring my laptop.
@Ash_SE - yay on getting the ok to start the meds! 14 days is so long! i would go insane if i had to wait that long for the beta. my office does it 10 days later.
AFM, still waiting on insurance approval. going to call them tomorrow to check the status, and maybe ask if they could mark it high priority...lol Getting excited to get the cycle going, though!
Hey ladies! I'm back to the bump, I had to take some time off after a couple disappointing IUIs last year. We retrieved 12 eggs in February, but only 4 made it to blast (2 good, 2 fair). We're on schedule for a May 15th FET, with a plan to transfer one good and one fair embie. I'm on BCPs now, and I start Lupron injections on Sunday. Looking forward to everyone's stories!

AFM: The PGS results are being held hostage haha!! I did pay them so I really wish they would've given my dr the results like they said they would today. My RE and clinic were quite SHOCKED to hear that my results were even in, so it was an interesting day for all. And they are now charging me the batching fee instead so lets pray i have a bunch more to send after this So far my follies seem to be doing ok and growing together, praying it continues and more pop up! Left, 12, 12, 8 and 8 // Right 8.5, 8.5,8 and 8...I should go play 8 huh! I need to order more meds, I keep forgetting and then they're closed ugh!!

@hbomb513 - welcome! Yay on having 4 blasts and good luck with starting the Lupron on Sunday!
@Ash_SE, caseyw8784 Still no results AND even better the lab called me this morning to let me know since it was suppose to be banking embryos they dont send the results till everything is completed altogether. Horrified and angry I gave them a piece of my mind indeed. Why bother calling me to tell me your error, charge me for it and now you're holding the results hostage, r u kidding me!! RE followed up and with lots of back and forth I should be hearing something soon. I won't bore u with the ongoing saga as ridiculous as it is. I will say though my RE added it was the labs ERROR! I laugh as i dont care whose error it is but the results have been done for 3 days and i'm still waiting. Aggravated is an understatement! I'm trying hard not to be over stressed as i'm stemming but they really dont make it easy! I'm super tired and bloated! Ive gained so much weight...passover only been a few days so i cant blame it all on that Its super annoying in just a few days a put on at least 5lbs how stemming can cause this is beyond me but its super annoying!! They say your body slows down after 40, so turning 40 and this infertility process is not going well for me! Thats enough ranting for today

Hey ladies! I'm moving over to this board. I saw my RE this AM for a saline ultrasound and she decided that she wants to remove a polyp that's in my cervix. She said she'll most likely get me in the first week of May and then prep for FET in May. She also said that my last transfer ended up being a chemical pregnancy (my beta 9dpt was negative, my blood work on day 3 of my period showed slightly elevated hcg) so I never even knew. But I am relieved to know it's possible..so I'm on bc pills for the meantime and hoping these next few weeks go fast!!
@Hopeful_mom I'm so so sorry for the aggravation they're causing you!!

Crazy saga of my own. Now that I know I have PGS embryos and the sex it seems so real to me and I'm so nervous for this FET to fail.
Im seeing a specialist RE for immune and blood clotting issues that cause repeat loss. I was doing some research on an additional treatment Neupogen and I emailed the doctor since I just have a feeling it could help me and she agreed but wants another specific immune test run. I'm like why wasn't this "extensive" panel run the first time!!! I managed to get squeezed in for a consult tommorrow and the testing will be done on Monday.
Id read about this issue and I just have a feeling it's worth testing for. Originally O thought it was but realized it wasn't in the first round. I'm just going crazy. I don't want to tick off the doc by questioning her but want to speak up for myself which obviously was worth it since she agreed.
@Ash_SE I hear you on knowing the sex of the embryo. For my first transfer, I knew they put a boy embryo in. It made it real and I really thought it was going to work..For the next one, I don't know that I'll ask which sex they put in. Personally, I always tell them that I want the strongest to go in (we have 5 normal girl embryos and 1 normal boy embryo left). Odds are kind of skewed anyway haha. Also, my RE is now sending me for some immunology blood tests..it wasn't part of my initial tests either.. Either way I'm going to take baby aspirin for the next transfer (RE told me I can put myself on it). She's also doing blood tests on both my husband and I for karyotype.

@Hoping10 and @Ash_SE - i want to know the sex of my embryos! lol. My RE says that the genetics lab listed the sexes of the 2 that came back normal....but her own policy is that she won't tell us until we get a BFP....boo. She actually didn't even look to see what they are so she won't slip up and say "s/he" when talking to us about it...
@caseyw8784 Wow that's some policy! Haha. My RE didn't know the sex that she put in at transfer. I asked right after it was over and she had to go ask the embryologist, after asking me if I was totally sure I wanted to know. I said after all of this, YES lol.

AFM, since we only wound up with 1 PGS normal, we decided to not find out the sex until we find out I'm pregnant. Our follow up appointment on the results is Monday. I'm excited to get going again! February ER and I don't start any meds until April 28th!
The news is in and its not good, all 3 great quality embros are all abnormal. One had an extra gene and the others missing one. Heartbreaking to say the least, you need 46 and I had 45 and 47. All girls too. OH is angry that I keep finding out the gender and keep getting more upset but I'm upset any which way. Being in the middle of a current cycle I really don't know how i feel anymore and what to do. There goes my whole banking option. I wanted more then one child and looks like having one is going to be tough enough!
I MC a normal embryo and now i can't even make one normal one WTH!

Angelaag that's exactly what we decided for our one PGS embryo, not finding out the sex until I have a positive test. It's killing me! With all this talk, I just got really nervous that we didn't do PGS. Did anyone else not do it? I'm transferring one good quality and one fair quality embie on May 15. I work in pedi acute care so I know my perception is skewed - I see every genetic defect and chromosomal abnormality out there.
"Expectation is the mother of all frustration" -Antonio Banderas
@hbomb513 and @desperatemom I didn't do it either but I can't regret it at this point. I have faith that one will be the one.
My RE told me yesterday that the latest guidelines are even stricter on transferring 2 vs. 1 for someone of low risk. I asked to speak to the embryologist to get his expert opinion. Because he's not the one that froze and graded them and not the one that picked my first one for transfer in Jan. My DH is borderline adamant on doing 2 this time around, but it's not his body and I feel like he's getting older so he wants a twofer. We have 3 weeks to figure It out. Any thoughts? We have 11 non tested day 5 embabies.

@jessaber0414 That was a hard decision for me as well. If I were younger (I'll be 37 by my due date (fingers crossed) I would only do one. I know plenty of people carry twins no problem, but I've worked in NICUs and again, my perception is skewed. Twins aren't the goal, but also not the worst thing in the world. Since I have two good embryos and two fair, it makes sense for me to transfer one good and one fair now, and do the same thing in a couple years.

I hope I can join. I was in the April FET group but we were cancelled during our cycle after 8 days of stimming. We just had our RE consult yesterday for next steps. The doctor is going with an antagonist protocol. This will be our third ivf cycle and I still can't seem to get these protocols right. Our next step is to wait until the 27 of this month to do my blood work to see if I ovulated. After that, we start on estrogen pills and will hopefully be able to start a FET in May. This will be our last cycle if it doesn't work until we can save a little bit of money for a next cycle. I'm just a pessimist at heart so I need to be more optimistic. We had it work in 2014 and had a beautiful baby girl who'll be 2 in next couple of months. I keep telling myself it only takes one! I have less stress at work and trying to take it easy this time. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
@hbomb513@JESSABER0414 - I am in a similar dilemma, we have 2AA, 3AA and 4AA. I was thinking maybe one 3a and one 4a. From what I remember my doctor said she froze the best one on day 6, rest were day 5. I am not sure if I can transfer two when they were frozen in different days. (Hope I am making some sense here and not overthinking)
@desperatemom I never thought of that! Maybe mine were 6 days. It was Sept and I was having a rough time with OHSS. I have a paper with things on it but no grades. She said we can all sit down and talk or through. I'm a RN, too and tend to lean much more towards research evidence and scientific opinions rather than my emotions. But, I have no baby to speak of either so maybe I need to be more passionate!

I wish so much they would give me pictures! Seems like it wouldn't be that hard to do. I didn't even get a report, the nurse at the RE office called me with the final numbers. @desperatemom, I never even thought about the freezing on different days making a difference! My RE told me that sometimes they freeze in pairs and that would make more of a difference, since they don't like to thaw and refreeze if possible. Beyond my simple request of transferring one good and one fair, which ones they transfer is completely up to the lab. I'm not sure I'm totally cool with that, but I have to accept that patients have very little control in this process, and have faith things will work out as they should.
"Expectation is the mother of all frustration" -Antonio Banderas
My RE gave me pictures on the transfer day(last cycle) though it doesn't help much. There is a good debate about 3dt vs 5dt, I had fresh 3dt but it didn't stick. In 5dt it reaches the blastocyst stage, which has better chances of success.(this comes from reading and spending hours on google). That been said, women have got bfp with 3dt and negatives with 5dt. Also, another some people say fresh has more success rates and some say otherwise. It's actually very interesting to read about both schools of thought.
dh wants to transfer 3, I don't think that's possible though. I want to ask so many questions on my next appointment.
@JESSABER0414 I'm happy you got good news! My RE feels very strongly about SET because of my age which I am ok with.
@immiet welcome! FX that this cycle goes smoothly for you. Just think- if it worked once, it can absolutely work again for you
I wish I had pictures too! I just have the PGD results and the gender of each. RE went through some of grading with me but I guess I would have to ask for it on paper. Interestingly, I believe the practice I'm at will only do 5dt. Guess that can be positive or negative depending on individual circumstances..

Thanks for all the love and input, I'm still moving forward with this cycle but I'm not sure how many more cycles I have left in me. My OH called this the million dollar baby. I'm going to use up all my funds I had to support them in just trying to have them. Here's my issue with the testing, embryos divide and grow better in the uterus SO if I did a 3dt maybe i wouldve had that normal embryo again...maybe thats why i had the normal embryo last cycle. Apparently my eggs are acting older then my age so its just making this process even more frustrating! I feel terrible for the ladies that have been in this position. In just coming off MC twins I feel lve been tortured enough and the hits just keep on coming. I never thought I wouldnt be a mom and now i just dont know. So far I maybe have 5 follies around the same and 3 much smaller so its less then last cycle but the fact that last cycle is officially not a success not sure what to hope for anymore. I had 2 different techs do the measuring so who knows if some disappeared or not. My Estrogen doubled which they wanted to see so hopefully it keeps doing that.
To all the ladies who are concerned about PGS, many RE dont recommend it. @hbomb513 and @desperatemom I was 40 with my transfer of 3 embryo on day 3 and got pregnant with my twins. Its because I had a terrible MC at 10 wks that they now suggested the testing. I know that one of the babies was normal (tested after the MC) so I honestly didn't want to do the testing. desperatemom its very true about all the different stats and what works best for who as everything does work. A part of me believes if i did a 3dt maybe i wouldve had a better chance at the cells dividing correctly inside me vs the dish. How old are you? They usually look to transfer 3 when you're older, or had losses etc. My OH refuses to allow 3 let alone 2...I'm the one pushing for the 2.
caseyw8784not sure how many cycles they do back to back, i'm just over it...I just feel like a pin cushion with nothing good coming from this. I wish I Could understand why the mix up of the testing happened now. Everything happens for a reason so why now, why have to go through the misery 2x. Besides all the science it just makes you question your faith too. OH doesn't get it and just kept asking what did the RE say. Is the meds causing the issue to the eggs, should I stop stemming now, take a break...so all of that doesn't help me either! Its also about 15k completed wasted...theres no shot and thats upsetting too.
Ash_SE i spoke to the head dr before we did the testing, what is she gonna say, this is why they do the testing. However u do read stories where people still deliver healthy babies with abnormal embryos...few and far between but it does happen. My report was as follows (5AB) +12 (5BB) -7 (5BB) -8p, -13, I just feel like 2 were so close. In doing the research having an extra is just as bad as missing one...the millions of genes and things that can go wrong is insane and hard to read! The quality of those blasts were awesome u couldn't ask for better, I think thats my shock. I really didn't think one wouldn't come back. The same way i never though i'd Miscarry both babies is the same way i never thought ALL would be abnormal, just sux!

@hopefulmom- I am 30, one month shy of 31. Its so true, all the savings/funds I had to spend on them, I am currently spending it trying to have them. When it works out, it's going to be our first, I would love to have twins. I read somewhere, on day 3 the embryo is rolling somewhere in the tubes, so they are ready for uterus yet, so 5dt is better since that's a better chance of success. honestly, I had too many expectations from the fresh cycle, I am just trying to tell myself that 3dt was too early. Since I got no reason for why it didn't work, everything looked great.

csp2017 I missed ur post earlier and we always want to find a reason as to why it doesn't happen on our own. I thought for sure my egs have a harder lining and OH swimmers can't get through BUT that wasn't the case...I joke with OH that his boys have no sense of direction
AFM: Going in for monitoring tomorrow BUT whats crazy is i got a call from the genetic lab today and apparently they sent my samples out to be tested instead of batching them altogether which was suppose to be after this cycle and i believe is going to cost me more now...I'm just so confused. Of course im now anxious to hear the results

@Ash_SE - yay on getting the ok to start the meds! 14 days is so long! i would go insane if i had to wait that long for the beta. my office does it 10 days later.
AFM, still waiting on insurance approval. going to call them tomorrow to check the status, and maybe ask if they could mark it high priority...lol
Looking forward to everyone's stories!

caseyw8784 yay! happy passover - i always feel like i'm the only one. Such late night with my family...now i need sleep
AFM: The PGS results are being held hostage haha!! I did pay them so I really wish they would've given my dr the results like they said they would today. My RE and clinic were quite SHOCKED to hear that my results were even in, so it was an interesting day for all. And they are now charging me the batching fee instead so lets pray i have a bunch more to send after this
So far my follies seem to be doing ok and growing together, praying it continues and more pop up!
Left, 12, 12, 8 and 8 // Right 8.5, 8.5,8 and 8...I should go play 8 huh! I need to order more meds, I keep forgetting and then they're closed ugh!!

Angelaag that's exactly what we decided for our one PGS embryo, not finding out the sex until I have a positive test. It's killing me! I'm actually trying to tell myself that a negative beta won't be any less painful if we know the sex. I have my first lining check on Monday, I'm trying to stay strong and not ask!
AFM, day 11 of pills and patches. CRAZY vivid dreams and no sleep. Not sure if it's the anxiety of only having one normal to transfer or side effects. Either way I see naps on my to do list this weekend!

my RE didn't suggest PGS, i am a little worried now.

Welcome @immiet! I hope this cycle works out for you. Good to hear a success story as well.

From what I remember my doctor said she froze the best one on day 6, rest were day 5.
I am not sure if I can transfer two when they were frozen in different days. (Hope I am making some sense here and not overthinking)

My OH refuses to allow 3 let alone 2...I'm the one pushing for the 2.
caseyw8784 not sure how many cycles they do back to back, i'm just over it...I just feel like a pin cushion with nothing good coming from this.
