@LMMama@MotherofDragons when DS was 1, I was buying beer and got carded. (Never mad about that). But, I was thinking, "So I am old enough to have a baby but not to buy beer." WHat does that say about our society?

@rmarble23. Yes, I totally agree. GBS isn't anything to mess with. I had it with DS and had both rounds of antibiotics on time the day of delivery but it still got to DS. That along with meconium put him in the NICU for two weeks. He was a rare case but get those antibiotics.

Has anyone had problems with staining on old baby clothes? A bunch of DD's clothes that I put away clean less than 2 years ago (in sealed containers in our basement) now have stains on them. It almost looks like old spit up stains resurfaced, b/c it's mostly around the collars/chest. So strange. Any special tricks for cleaning them? Should I have treated them some special way before storing?
@mamaelle27 mine did this too, and it's common. I always thought it was a formula baby problem, but my last one was only breastmilk and hers have it as well. There are a handful of different posts for this on Pinterest! I haven't tried any yet but if you do tell us what worked!
Thanks everybody for your thoughts. Just waiting for my referral to Seattle Children's to be approved. Should have an appointment in the next 2 weeks or so. Blah what a sucky day.
@rmarble23 Your post about GBS (and insomnia) had me googling and I think this is probably what happened to my husband. He had meningitis as a newborn. My mother-in-law said they weren't sure he was going to make it for a while, and he was in the hospital for a month after birth. I wonder if they didn't do the GBS screening routinely in the 80s...
@mamaelle27, a mom from my last baby group just had her second in October. The same thing happened to her clothes so she put them in a sink full of oxyclean water and she said the stains came out of most of the clothes. Worth a try

I have yet to discover a baby stain that Oxyclean and Dawn can't remove!

For real...DD had both bad reflux AND explosive poops for the first 8 months of her life...she NEVER came home from daycare in the same outfit she went there in, and I spent most of my nights scrubbing human feces out of onesies in the utility room sink. Dish soap is amazing. Scrub with dish soap, spray with Shout, and launder normally. Gone. Even from white onesies.
At the time I was like "all of this stuff is from Carter's and was so cheap, I should just throw it out" but I'm really happy I didn't now that we're having another girl. It would have been lame to have to buy more clothes just because I didn't feel like scrubbing the ones we already had. but also, if this one was a boy, I'd be really annoyed that I wasted my time with all of the hand scrubbing, so...can't really win. Haha.
Any other ST+Ms experiencing increased clinginess from their LOs? DS is all up in my business all the sudden and it's driving me nuts. It's like he knows his one on one time is coming to an end!
@MotherofDragons, I'm nervous about jealousy too. He's always been a mama's boy, but has gotten better recently. I can actually hold babies without him losing his shit now. But who knows if that will be the case when a baby comes home 24/7.

Definitely, but not for that reason. He's 8.5 months and separation anxiety has arrived.
I'm a little nervous about the clinginess too. Most of the time it's just DS and me (DH works slightly different house than I do so when we are home at night it's often just the 2 of us, plus it was just the 2 of us for pretty much the first 2 years of his life). We have my stepson every other weekend, and even when he is with us I notice increased jealousy and trying to get attention by copying what my stepson is doing if we give him a positive reaction.
I have my official observation today with my director (in 10 minutes) and I'm stressing out. She is observing me running a meeting with a parent, and I drew the short straw of having her observe what will likely be a particularly difficult meeting. Here's hoping it goes well.
While I'm not a mom yet I do have someone in my life whose particularly clingy! She has no concept of personal space and needs to lay across me like a baby. Thankfully she's only 5 pounds. And yes I have a whole stash of wipes piled up in my living room thanks to @swanbrooner and her excellent couponing deal!
@Wearmi1 and @awoodruff27 Just got caught up on this thread and wanted to say that I am thinking of you both and so sorry you are dealing with your respective issues.

@Wearmi1 Even as a STM the pups want to dog pile me. I LOVE it! DD tries to push them off of me and they just look at her like "Um... no little person. We were here first."
Update. Baby looks good. Placenta might be slightly over the cervix. But not conclusive. Basically they have no idea. Not a fan of the dr I saw she really didn't make me feel better. So just waiting for my better ultrasound on the 13th.

If there is a symptoms thread this week and I missed it I'd like to say I'm sorry for posting this here instead.
Is anyone else getting a lot of foot/leg cramps at night? I had random leg cramps wake me about 5 times last night. I do get them from time to time when I'm not pregnant but not very often and generally just once in a night then not again for months. I'm assuming the increased frequency where it's practically every night multiple times a night has something to do with being pregnant. If anyone else is having this problem: have you found something that helped?

@NamelessAria my legs were hurting last week. I just chalked it up to needing more potassium and ate some bananas and drank some pedialyte for electrolytes and tried stretching a bit. Seemed to help me.
@NamelessAria when I stretch my legs at night I can feel them starting so I quickly pull them back in. I use to get terrible Charlie horses in my calves when I was pregnant with my first two.

@NamelessAria I have been using magnesium oil at night and it has been very helpful. The particular kind I use is Life-Flo Pure Magnesium Oil. It comes in a spray bottle. I apply a few sprays to the bottom of each of my feet before I go to bed and my leg cramps stopped. I wear a sleep tracker and I've also noticed that the nights that I use the oil, I get more hours of deep sleep.
I second @Wearmi1 I don't have a clingy baby yet, but I do have a clingy cat. DH and I have already come to terms with the fact that the cat will probably feel the baby move before DH. @NamelessAria I haven't had leg cramps yet, but I do notice if I don't drink enough water I get restless legs. Not sure how much water you are taking in, but maybe if you up it that will help some? @awoodruff27 such great news!!
@berg my one cat used to sit ALL OVER my bump when I was pregnant with DD. A few times she kicked him so hard that he left. Haha. He doesn't sit on me much anymore because I rarely have time to lounge around on the couch, but we'll see if this LO gets him too. :-)
