Lol there's no unpopular opinions!! How about this could be a UO I guess, but I don't get the whole star wars thing. My son loooooves the movies and has been collecting everything star wars but I couldn't even make it through the first movie I tried to watch... episode IV. I thought it was so boring, I ended up falling asleep while my kids watched it.
I might have a slight love for Star Wars..... I may or may not have it on my sig, have my whole son's nursery decorated in star wars theme, already have tickets to see Rouge One come out with a cute prego shirt to wear that says "the force is strong with this one" and is apart of the Cosplay group Rebel Legion that goes around and volunteers to be dressed up in star wars characters....
@kswiger06 I've actually heard that from other people who didn't see the original movies until adulthood. Personally I love them, but it may be because I grew up watching them and they were an integral part of my childhood, so I'm biased.
Episodes 1-2 were kind of lame, episode 3 was okay (I liked seeing Anakin become Darth Vader). And I really liked the new one.
Another movie UO: I HATED The Revenant. It was at least an hour longer than necessary, and seriously: who survives a bear attack, floating down an icy river for an undetermined amount of time, falling off a cliff, and being attacked by various "bad guys"? I really wanted to walk out of it, but everyone I went to see it with loved it.
I think receiving and giving Christmas presents, especially when it's based entirely on lists people made for each other instead of real "I saw this and thought you'd like it" is stupid.

I judge people on their gift wrapping. If you give me a bag and no tissue paper, I judge that harshly. Worse- the box with no bow or that has been crappily wrapped. I know it is the thought that counts but I think the wrapping is part of the gift. If you really can't wrap a present at least put coordinating tissue paper in a bag!!

I agree 100%! I love finding things while out shopping that I think others will like and then seeing the look on their face makes me happy! It's not as fun when the person knows ahead of time because it was on their list.
@Gretchypoo me too! Presentation is important! I put a lot of effort into making presents look nice & silently judge when others dont! i also spend a lot of time & effort (& money) on picking cards for people & i silently judge if someone gives me a petrol station card.
you guys. i am questioning everything i think about you guys. Seinfeld is amazing. I have seen every episode and probably watch at least 3-4 episodes a week.
+1 to Star Wars. I've never seen it. I may attempt to watch once baby gets here. What else will I have to do.

@patience7150 I think its so weird- my husbands sister will send me a direct link to what I can buy for her....
Also @gretchypoo and @janefelicity I'm recently discovering the beauty of a well wrapped present and am seriously stressing about how to wrap our gifts this year haha!
All of you wrapping paper judgers! My family was NOT that way growing up. It was wrapped, and my parents used those store bought bows that come in a bag.
Then, DH and I get together, so our first year I wrap all the presents as my family does, and come to find out his family are wrapping paper judgers. They will literally put a $5 hand-made wired ribbon bow on like a $10 thing they bought at Walmart.
I have since learned to tie bows, but I admit, it was very judgy/unpleasant for me that first Christmas. This probably doesn't break top 10 reasons they dislike me, but still.
+1 to not liking getting/giving lists of specific presents... It takes the fun out of it! H complains I am too hard to shop for, because I don't give him a list of things I want (I have a hard time justifying people spending money on me/me spending money on myself frivolously, so I don't keep a running wish list). I really enjoy shopping for H, though, because I make mental notes through the year of things I think he would like. I'm almost done shopping for him, and though one item I got is something he specifically asked for (rain boots), the rest are items I just know from prior conversations he would enjoy or find useful.
As for wrapping presents - I wish I put more effort into it. I'm lucky if I find a bow to stick on it. I DID, however, buy two rolls of Star Wars themed wrapping paper that I am hiding from H, that I plan to wrap all of his Christmas presents in. Pretty excited about that.
H made me watch all 6 Star Wars movies when we were dating. Some of them are just ok, but I will admit I really liked the newest one that came out. He is probably going to make me go to the new one coming out next week but at least our theater is one with the comfy leather reclining chairs.
I also really appreciate a nicely wrapped gift! I try to spend time making all of mine look good but I'm pretty sure that's going to change when we have multiple kids we have to wrap for!
This arrived just today... It is the third Star Wars related Christmas blow up decoration in DH's collection. Now he can get rid of his original Darth Vader piece that is non-blow up (gasp). I'd fight it, but he's not into Christmas and he loves these things so much!
Edited to add that our front room has been taken over by boxes and boxes of baby stuff... We really need to get the nursery painted this weekend so we can get everything where it belongs.
My parents subjected me to all kinds of movies and shows that a lot of people aren't into. I love the actual movie Stargate and watched SG1 but I lost interest once they started Atlantis and whatever else. I also had to watch Star trek growing up so I tend to favor the shows with Sir Patrick Stewart, but I think I've seen all the William Shatner ones. And I never had interest in the newer movies. And my dad watched star wars, but I managed to luck out on those haha.
I also love those classic 80's teen movies thanks to my mom. A few years ago I bought Some Kind of Wonderful and nobody I know has even heard of it.
I couldn't give a rats ass about how a gift is wrapped/ tissue paper in a bag. Sure it's always nice to get a gift that is presented nicely, but seriously the paper is getting ripped off and thrown away.

I have an IDGAF attitude about the whole thing.

I seriously had no clue people judged wrapping paper. Really!? I probably see a ton of judgment. My presents rock though. It seriously never occurred to me to grab anything but the cheapest wrapping option and just do my best.
Also Seinfeld is freaking classic. I'm currently mid-rewatch.
+1 to being particular about wrapping gifts. I am super crazy when it comes to wrapping gifts and I'll never hand out a poorly wrapped, tissue-less gift.
My UO is that I think it's so tacky when people walk into the OB office for a routine appointment in sweats or pajama pants. It is not that hard to get dressed in the morning.
@Xstatic3333 for me it isn't the cost of the paper or how fancy the bow is. This year I'm using newspaper and my bags are from the dollar store.
I judge how the gift looks when wrapped. I judge you if you can't put a bow on it (even a store bought bow from the bag is fine for me) or if it looks like you stomped on the paper 43x before putting it on the gift.
Example- Last year I silently judged my MIL bc our gifts were wrapped with a gift bag inside an upside down gift bag, like the top and bottom of a box, maybe? I thought it was such a waste of money and they looked terrible-- just grab tissue paper! They sell it at the dollar store!
I am totally cheap abt wrapping though. I save all the bags I get and re-use them. My friend and I have used the same Christmas bag for 3 years now, we just give it back to each other!
I like brown paper with a eucalyptus twig or something like that. It doesn't need to be expensive- just well done. But I don't care what I receive. Just what Im putting out there.
I am a horrible present wrapper. I lack the necessary skills to make neat corners and cut straight lines.
I am economical and thrifty and save tissue paper and gift bags and reuse them. I have my kids trained to save and fold the tissue paper at their birthday parties even, lol. @Gretchypoo, it's recycling, not cheap :-)

My UO: I hate when people talk on the phone in public/multi-stall bathrooms. Do what you need to do, and then call them.
My H keeps saying he doesn't understand how it's super popular now because it was considered very nerdy to like star wars when he was a kid.
I don't ever have an UO but this might be one: I've watched Gilmore Girls and I've never liked it. I also don't think Seinfeld is funny.
