HAHAHAHA! OMG what is amazing about this is that I live in Missouri (aka: the scene of the crime) -- but I swear to everything that is holy, I did not approve this mob-style killing! Nor is that me in the video and I am not driving the get away car. I promise. Really. If I were going to do it I'd have a BB gun out the side of a very slow car driving by... I would however, have the same music playing.
Holy hell, I just fell UP our stinking steps because it's snowing and all slippery. As far as I can tell I stayed off my stomach, but just about everything else hurts. Both my legs are scraped up, my left arm and left shoulder, and my right wrist. But I feel the little guy squirming, I think that must have awoken him from his nap... winter time sucks!
Not sure about everyone else, but other ohio mama's be careful outside!!
Oh no @kswiger06!! I'm glad you didn't seriously injure yourself! Take it easy today and rest up. I'm watching the snow fall out my work window right now and just hoping they get enough salt down before I have to walk to my car
@lfrank12 I hope they get to it before you have to leave!
I kept telling my husband those steps were slippery (they are wooden that connect to a bridge over the little creek) and he kept saying be careful we will have to figure something out... I'm pretty sure when I tell him I fell he will be figuring it out ASAP.
@homemake alll the feeeels.. we have two kids we "adopted" for presents and I'm making DS pick them out.. these "female 4-6"s better love some dinosaurs.
@PerraSucia it sucked. And I think I tend to fall up more than down too... but today I didn't trip (my usual cause of falling up stairs), my foot slipped off the step while I was going up.
Oh and I forgot @homemake my mom just told me yesterday that they are planning on telling my niece about santa. So after I read that, I forwarded the link to her. It's basically the same idea of how she planned on doing it, but I thought the story was sweeter. That was perfect timing to post that!!
Thanks guys! The snow is pretty, but ugh!! Im just bruised and bumped up a little but baby seems ok. I went ahead and put a call into my Dr just in case.
Dr just called and said as long as I'm not having contractions or bleeding, and I feel the baby move I should be fine. So the baby is moving and no other issues, we should be okay.
@kswiger06 I'm sorry you fell! Snow is pretty but can be so ruthless
I have a maybe silly question- if you were team green would you buy a more neutral outfit for the hospital newborn photos/coming home outfit (is that a thing? is the first car ride really that special?) or would you buy 2 outfits and return one later? I feel silly buying 2 outfits but in all honesty I kind of want to buy something *not* gender neutral because the wait to find out the sex is getting irritating at this point in pregnancy frumpiness. Maybe buy something gender neutral and add one of those big ass headband bows in the event I pop out a girl?
@yogadevil I think my big question about buying two and returning one is whether or not you think you're gonna want to go deal with returns in the newborn stage? I am mainly going off of handmedowns and consignment stuff, so I don't have anything I need to return after baby is born, but I know a lot of women are doing the "buy stuff, leave tags on it" route to deal with sizing, so a trip for returns is a lot more likely in their future. If you're doing that, I'd say go for the two outfits if it's something you want to do, but just make it from a place you'd be hitting in an existing returns trip...
@poetryandoceans that's the dilemma- I give it a 50/50 if something will actually get returned within the return policy time period. I havnt taken tags off things yet but most of my newborn clothing are like those baby gowns that are a little more forgiving.
It's just so tempting to splurge on a more cutesy outfit considering allllll the baby clothes we have are gray, white, neutral etc
@yogadevil I like your idea for an accessory that is a bit less neutral, if you want to go that way; it'll probably be less of a cost if it doesn't get returned within the window? Also, you might check if exchange policies are more forgiving than return policies? Stores might be more willing to exchange a newborn dress for a 0-3 onesie than they would to do a straight return?
@kswiger06 I'm so glad you're okay! Our city is dealing with our first "winter" in a years (don't usually get any snow) and I am terrified of bailing. You must have some ninja-like reflexes to fall safely like that
@yogadevil Carter's has a one year return policy if you want to look there and they email you your receipt so even if you lose the paper one, it's okay
@yogadevil how about finding a cute black and white outfit and then get like blue or pink socks/booties and a matching pink headband? I've seen super cute black and white striped stuff on Etsy! I was going to buy one the other day I saw on Pinterest, it was black and white striped pants and the onesie said I'm new here or something along those lines.
After my scan a few weeks back & the baby was measuring big (over 90th percentile) i started freaking out that she would come early & whilst we had all our big items ordered & paid for a few months back we had set delivery for early january & if she came early we wouldnt even have a car seat to bring her home from the hospital. So i changed the delivery date & some of our stuff was delivered today! It was like christmas come early! I desperately want to put it all together but it has to stay in boxes til i get off on maternity to sort out the nursery & have somewhere to put everything but its making it all very real & exciting!

Lol it definitely wasn't graceful and I have been feeling the aches as a result. I'm more going with lucky I fell on my shins and knees and not smashing my belly. I really don't know how it happened
Hey, so I noticed in December's bmb that a lot of people have their own thread just about their personal labor and delivery. Then they have a regular announcement thread where I assume they posted in as well. Is that what we do? If a labor buddy were to say hey I'm getting ready to go in, do we make a thread for them to let everyone know, or we post it in randoms or something?
ETA that the labor buddies started the threads not the actual person.

I think that would get crowded. Maybe a labor thread for ppl to talk and labor buddies and then an announcement thread for us to post pics?

I think that's what October did and it seemed to work really well. That way, there is only one thread to keep up with as far as how everyone is progressing. Then, of course, a place to ooh and aaah over the babies when they arrive.
I don't know if we need the individual labour threads; I think the birth announcement thread is awesome, and then either a dedicated labour thread or announcements in the random thread from the labour buddies to let everyone know it's go time for someone? It looks like otherwise important threads in the December board (like their awesome postpartum wellness check-in thread) are getting lost in the labour threads?
Related: I think the postpartum wellness checkins (and heck, pre-partum too) might be a good idea as we get into February; this group is wonderfully supportive and I think creating the groundwork for PPD/PPA awareness would be awesome.
I like that the birth announcement thread is literally just that. No comments or anything. And then having a separate labor thread for all things labor like @concreteangell said.
The search function is driving me nuts... does anyone remember what the thread was that was dedicated to baby wearing? (I thought we had one) I'm planning on using Christmas as a time for Santa to bring me what I want but I'm debating between a few and wanted to read through it to see what everyone was recommending and saying to pass on.
Just paid the retainer for our newborn photographer and scheduled our session for March 4th. I'm having one of those 'this just got real' moments.
I think DH had one earlier in the week. He was looking through a box of baby clothes I ordered from ThredUp and suddenly teared up and said something like 'we're going to have a baby here soon'. When I asked what it was about that box of clothes (and not the 10 other baby related boxes in the same room), he said they looked like clothes he would pick out himself. Not sure what that means but I'm thanking the box of clothes for the nursery painting that's happening today
I just read that the pit bull ban in Montreal went into effect last week. I'm just heartbroken for all the strays and unregistered pit bulls in that area because apparently they'll be euthanized on the spot. Now I'm crying all the hormonal tears.

Edit because when zoomed in I could read the license plate

+1 to the organized labor thread!
