Randomness: I got overwhelmed at work today and someone was a jerk on the phone and I burst into tears as soon as I hung up! Oh and I'm pretty sure I have some sort of infection, either BV or yeast. Ughhhhhhh.
@Squirtgun They are the most amazing pretzels ever! But just a warning, they usually sell our super fast so stock up! My mom can't find them at her Costco so wants me to mail her some because she uses them for her Christmas party lol

Are they the pretzel crisps? If so, I'm straight up addicted to the peppermint ones

I really hope im posting.in the right place (kind of worried & scared to post somewhere in not supposed to and get scolded lol) so I had a question I was wondering.if any mamas in their first trimester dealing with painful tailbone pain? I got it.in my last trimester with my first and now this 2nd pregnancy I got it so much sooner (first trimester) it gets painful mainly when I'm trying to clean or walking about...does anyone else experience this? And if so what helped you ease the pain if you.dont.mimd me asking. Thankyou in advance
@starphish18 - something that really helps me is sitting on the floor with my legs in the butterfly position and moving my legs up and down while applying a little bit of pressure on top of my knees.

@fire I got it at my first appt. I haven't had any issues. Both my SIL got it while pregnant and haven't had issues. I figure it's better to get it, than to risk having the flu while pregnant.
@fire - I NEVER get the flu shot. I have a ridiculously high immune system but dd#1 has had it twice in the last five years so I opted for it this year just to be safe. It was sore for about a day but I I had no other reaction.
Quick question- I had NT blood work over a week ago. I have the NT ultrasound next week. Do you get results back from NT blood work or is this done along with the ultrasound? This is the first time we opted for this screening and not sure what to expect.
@MamaMiller I got my NT scan on Tuesday, with the u/s and blood work on the same day. The way it was explained to me, they combine the u/s and blood draw results, along with your age, into a single equation/algorithm for each risk (DS, T18/13 combined), and this provides an adjusted risk number. So it will still probably take a few days for you to get the full results (even though you got the blood draw early), although they will have a pretty good general idea the day of your u/s based on the measurements. I didn't get the blood work results separately, just the final risk numbers based on both u/s and blood draw.
This was just my experience--hope it helps! Good luck!
@fire - just got mine yesterday. Doc insisted. I usually don't get the flu shot in general but thought better safe than sorry. Arm is sore but so far no other reaction.
@MamaMiller - I got my blood work results back a week later. Our ultrasound isn't for another week. She just told us that everything looked normal. We opted not to test for gender.
@fire - I had never gotten a flu shot in my life until I was pregnant with my son. Although I have never had the flu, my OB stressed the vaccine's importance to pregnant women. I trust my doctor, and got the shot- no issues. This time, I got my flu shot last week. I did it at Walgreens, and because I'm pregnant, they gave me the preservative free version, although my doc said either is fine.

Anyone getting the flu shot? I'm nervous to get it.
I got it at my 13 week appointment. They asked me the month before and I turned it down then. I have no reason why. But I got it while pregnant with my other two and it was fine.
I think I need to get the flu shot but my OB never mentions it. Do all OBs have it? Should I go to walgreens? And does anyone know when the flu shot stops being available?
Oops I really need to do the flu shot. I was supposed to get it at my last appointment which was at almost 12 weeks but it seems like we all forgot about it. I will probably just go to a target pharmacy since I can get it for free there

Please get the flu shot. The point is to protect you from getting very sick from influenza, a respiratory virus (not a stomach bug). High fever during pregnancy is a bad thing. Being healthy in the past (ie never experiencing the flu before) doesn't mean you are immune to it - just means you've been lucky and dodged the bullet. Most people get a sore arm for 1-2 days. Getting body aches, fatigue, etc after the shot does NOT mean you have the flu (impossible - it's a killed virus vaccine - really just a snapshot of the outside of the virus particle so your body can recognize it and fight it off when the real thing shows up). If you end up with respiratory symptoms (nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, cough, fever, etc etc) after getting the shot, you picked up a different virus (rhinovirus, adenovirus, etc etc) at the clinic / grocery store / pharmacy / daycare center / place you work / etc etc. Not the flu. (That is, unless you actually DID get the flu from someone sick in one of the aforementioned places. Crappy crappy luck.)
@fire@lulubemadness - Just ask your OB for it. They probably have it. I got it at my 12 week appt and have gotten it with both prior pregnancies with no issue. One huge reason to get the flu shot is that you will be passing on your immunities to your baby, who won't be able to get a flu shot until they are past 6 months old. That to me is the deal breaker. Even though I don't always feel like I need it since I rarely get sick, I would hate for my newborn to get the flu when I could've done something to prevent it.

Flu shot - I need to get mine, I tried Monday at the OB but they ran out I also need to get the kids theirs.
NTscan / Sequential screen question- Did you have to give a urine sample? I don't remember it last time.
I didn't give urine. My dr doesn't have an u/s in office though. I had to go to a separate clinic for my NT. They told me to come with a full bladder. I was supposed to drink 32oz 1 hr before. That seems always too much for me. I drank 20 oz starting at 1 hr out and she still had me empty.
@chickyclg I didn't do a urine sample but since it's an ultrasound they told me they advise to drink a couple of glasses of water before it so they can see things better.
I should definitely write it down(flu shot) to ask ob when my next appointment comes up so I don't forget.
On a side note does any body know if a 16week ultrasound for gender is reliable? I got one done during my first pregnancy right at 16weeks they said boy & just to make 100% sure I had asked again at my 20weeks scan it was confirmed boy. But now I just feel kind of unsure because I been reading alot of how the baby gender could change or something??
@lulubemadness the sex won't change but sometimes the male sex organs are not yet visable until 20 weeks- my random: is my screen name stil jamielynn9)8587 or whatnot? It's showing as changed on my profile but my posts are still reading with the former screen name...:/ anyone have any recommendations for fixing?
My OB said to get flu shot wherever it is offered. The office didn't keep on hand. It was free for me to get it at CVS. No issues. I don't even recall my arm being sore. Pregnant woman are considered high risk. I wouldn't wait any longer.
My doctor weirdly won't do it until I'm 20 weeks. We think it's because of some bizarre hospital rule and not based on actual safety (checked with their docs and the CDC) so I will be going and paying whatever it costs at Walgreens or CVS. Any other Tricare moms run into this?

No that's super weird. I got mine both times before 20 weeks (at military hospitals each time). Maybe there is some confusion with the whooping cough shot? Isn't that the shot we have to get after 20?
Y'all I'm having such a hard time drinking water, or really anything. Even eating. I just constantly feel full. Blah.
Also this pregnancy is so different this time around. Last time I had several doctors appointments, so far I've had one and won't be seen again until almost 18 weeks.

That's really strange. Tricare here too and I'm getting mine at my next appointment (16 weeks). I would have got it at my last appointment but they hadn't got their shipment of the vaccines in yet. I'm also delivering at the military hospital and haven't heard of any rule...
