Re: Weekly Symptoms Thread 8/1/16

  • OMG the cramps. I had one in my calf so bad in the middle of the night, I had to jump out of bed and stand up so get it to relax. I couldn't pull my toes back or anything in bed. It was awful. I wrapped it in my heating pad later that day just to make sure it didn't do it again. My husband has a TENS somewhere in the house that I forgot about, so thanks for the reminder ladies! I'll have to hunt it down and see if it helps.

@LauraPCOS I had pre-e with DD, and it's what the other ladies said: high blood pressure, accompanied with protein in your urine and extreme sudden swelling, especially in the face. To give you an example, my blood pressure was sky high (like 215/110), my urine had 4x the amount of the normal level of protein in it, and I gained 10 lbs in 2 weeks in water weight. So it's basically anything extreme and sudden. I've been getting swelling this time around too, but like you it goes away almost completely after a good night's sleep, so I would say you're ok right now, but mention it to your doc and s/he will help calm your fears. I have had elevated blood pressure (140/85) the last 2 months, but my doc said all my other numbers are perfect so don't worry.

@Pupatella Yes!! I always picture a little dance party lol. But I suppose it could be hiccups?

@sportiegrl1213 Thinking of you! Hoping things have calmed down for you!

  • Okay ladies I have a Haemi question! TMI - I just discovered I have one when I tried to wipe and holy butthole did it hurt (and it feels HUGE).  Are we allowed to use haemorrhoid cream?

  • @LauraPCOS - the form I got from my OB at the beginning of my pregnancy says you can use tucks, preparation HC or anusol.
  • Okay I have anusol - I didn't see anything on the package saying no, but when I googled it baby centre pretty much said every home remedy and then to ask the doctor for something.

The Ovia app has a med lookup. You should be able to find most things there to see if they're okay to use :)
  • @sportiegrl1213 phew I'm glad you weren't in preterm labor but that sounds super scary considering you drink so much water.  I guess that's a lesson for all of us in this heat!  *hugs*

  • @LauraPCOS that's all I was thinking, especially when the cramping was only getting worse, not better. Still crampy but not as bad as it was. Praying for a good nights sleep.

  • @sportiegrl1213 set alarms to drink more water
  • @sportiegrl1213 so glad it wasn't anything worse! Glad you're feeling better - rest up and keep the water close by! :) P.s. I've been slacking on my water lately, you just gave me a wake up call!
  • @sportiegrl1213 So glad that everything is okay now!
My doctor said I only need to worry about getting a typical amount of water (64 ounces per day) but I feel like I need a lot more. Now I'm even more inspired to chug water all day long.
  • @sportiegrl1213 I am glad to see that you're not labor!! I mean we aren't officially labor buddies yet but I didnt want to leave you hanging either!! Guess we all need to drink up (water that is). Hope you get some rest tonight after a stressful day!

I got that soap today and used it as soon as I got home from work. It smells, but hopefully it helps

  • @sportiegrl1213 glad you're back home and baby's still cooking! Take it easy, mama.
  • @LMNOBaby the nurses said there's never too much water when pregnant. I have a stock pile on my desk right now of water and Gatorade! I honestly thought I was drinking a lot @ball4768. Thanks girls  :)

@bnsmith85 thank you! Happy its all good! Phew!!  :)

  • @klv I'm glad you got some! The smell is strong but I actually didn't mind it lol especially if it took the itch away even for a little bit.
  • Does anyone else who experiences contractions feel them everywhere? Before, they would just tighten my tummy into a ball, mainly right in the front. Not too bad, barely even uncomfortable. Now though, I can feel them in my chest, my butt, all the way through. Much more uncomfortable now and I'm trying not to let it freak me out.
  • @sjo_thetwins I haven't had any that I know of, so I don't have any personal experience, but our birth class instructor told us they can be felt a lot of places. She specifically pointed out in your thighs. Now every time I feel kind of sore in my legs I wonder if it's a contraction.

  • @sjo_thetwins my friend was describing to me her labor, and she had straight up butt labor. It didn't feel like cramps to her because it was all in her butt. So weird!

@klv I had a bout of some sort of rash around week 20 of this pregnancy and thought it was puppps. I bought everything. Lol. Dandelion tea, cerave and this puppps cream from an etsy seller who developed it because his wife had puppps for all of her pregnancies. I gave that cream to a pregnant friend when she got puppps, and she swears by it. He also sells a soap.
  • @sjo_thetwins I feel mine in more places the bigger my belly gets. I feel them in my back and sides sometimes. As long as they aren't getting progressively stronger and closer together, I would say it's pretty normal.

@sportiegrl1213 I am glad everything is okay! The quantities of water our bodies can take in and lose in an hour during pregnancy is insane. FI went on a big rant and lectured me about how I should be going through 4 cups (actual cups, not glasses) of water every hour that I'm awake yesterday. He has been Dr. Googling everything we can do to prevent another early baby since I told him about those contractions waking me up.

New Symptom: I woke up on my back last night in a whole new kind of pain... like a stabbing in both sides following my ligaments, and felt like my spine was on fire. I had to stand up and walk around a bit, I felt the baby "move back up", and the pain stopped immediately. He was on some nerve or something and good lawd it was awful!

Thanks y'all. They feel much stronger now that I can feel them in... My butt too. And my lungs, but I guess that comes with how big they are. The frequency hasn't changed too much so I'm not going in, just going to chug much more water. I really really don't want to be admitted to the hospital again next Thursday at my next cervix check. Y'all, the catheter fear is real now that I've experienced it in all of its glory. Med free birth isn't in the cards for me apparently, I couldn't handle it!
  • i'm so sorry you are going thru this @sjo_thetwins! I really hope everyone will remain in their comfy home for a little while longer!

And I'm drinking drinking drinking! I'm so afraid of anything now!

  • @sportiegrl1213 great to hear everything is ok!   Must have been scary!

My symptom this week has been night sweats.  I wake up every morning drenched.  I used to be able to go a day in between hair washes but have to be an every day girl now.  I also feel a lot of pressure down below when I move from seated/laying to standing.  I'm carrying really low so hopefully it's from that
  • @MKJeffrey2002 I don't get them every night but I have a few times in the past couple of weeks. The last time, I woke up drenched and freezing. I was shivering and thought I had a fever but didn't. It was very uncomfortable!
