Had my 38 week appt today. Baby's head is low which explains the recent nerve pain. Also, 1cm and 70% effaced (0.5 cm more in 2 weeks so not too much progress). Anyways, now I have some brownish discharge, not something I would consider a mucus plug or anything. Has this happened to anyone else? I assume it's just that my cervix was a bit irritated during the check?
I'm currently having some brown discharge after my appointment today. I definitely freaked out at first! But I do believe it's from the cervical check I had earlier today. My doctors have warned me of that before. This is just the first time it's happened.

I had some spotting after cervical checks as well.
37 week check up today. 1 cm dilated and 20% effaced. I've had a ton of braxton hicks so I was hoping for more progress but last week I was completely closed and not thinned out at all. I'll take it!
37wk appointment today - and we have a repeat c/section date of 8-18 (Thursday). I can't believe it's next week already!! He didn't check my cervix, last time it was closed. So next time I see him it's baby time!
Went in today bc baby isn't moving as much. Ultrasound showed everything is good with movement and fluid. He did only gain half a pound in 3 weeks. He has a marginal cord insertion that could be contributing, but my doctor is not concerned. I go back Thursday for a NST. He asked me if I wanted to be induced, but we decided monitoring for now is best. I am 2cm and 50% effaced. -3 station. I could sit like this for weeks.
I had my 38 week appointment today. I had no progress since 36 weeks, where I was 1cm, 70%, soft and mid-position cervix. Doc today scored me at +3 station, but mentioned previous doc scored me 2+ last time. So I am bummed at not progressing, but I guess kiddo wants more time.
Doc had trouble locating heartbeat for Doppler (this did not worry me bc kiddo moving all day) and then remarked it was physically high in location on my body, so she pulled in the ultrasound machine to make sure she hadn't flipped to breech. Thankfully she is still head down, but apparently is posterior now.
That at surprised me because I try to be careful with posture and sleeping habits to encourage a LOA position, and I did learn at 36 w she had moved to the right, but was still anterior/transverse at that point. Guess I'll try to do more to encourage her positioning.
I have my 40 week appointment today (I'm technically 39 weeks 4days). I'm anxious about the appointment today. I am going to discuss induction options. I had a membrane sweep at 38 weeks which made me contract for 24 hours and stalled out. Has anyone had a 2nd membrane sweep? Last night LO was squirming all over the place and when I stood up I swear I felt her drop lower into my pelvis. This morning I've been contracting. Idk I guess we'll see if I've made progress since last week!
@jkershaw2013 I read up on the membrane sweep and its effectiveness/ pros/ cons to try and decide when to get one. Turns out the second membrane sweep has a higher success rate on throwing a woman into labor.
I'm jealous of you all that have the option of the membrane sweep - I had that with my first and went into labor that night. My current dr (different from my first) will not do them. I was hoping she would, just to see if that would get things moving before going to an induction.
@jkershaw2013 I had a membrane sweep yesterday (39w 2d) but I didn't have contractions after. I think mine just isn't ready yet? I have heard that it is a great way to get labor started though so I hope you can get another one today and its successful!
I had my 39 week appointment yesterday and had a membrane sweep. I am at a 2+ and baby has dropped, but he does not seem in any hurry to make his exit. I have a 40 week appointment scheduled for the 15th and a NST (my doctor requires it after 40 weeks) and we scheduled an induction for the 19th.
@kristynmac & @jkershaw2013 I think the membrane sweep is a good option... it does have some cons though so I have opted to wait until 41 weeks to do it... I may even do it at 40 weeks. The fear is that if your water breaks but you aren't ready then you may have to be induced... In other countries they believe it gives you a higher chance of infection... (dk how much stock I put in this... I mean with checks u have hands up there too). But I am worried about having 48 hours of contractions from irritation... and not actual labor... because my appts are on Monday and I am working until I pop... I'd rather avoid the unnecessary pain.
Had my 38 week appointment this morning. Doctor was really excited when she told me I was at a solid 3 cm. She said that was a lot of progress from last week, so I'm glad all the cramping and discomfort I've had has done something. But, I know I can walk around this way for weeks, so trying to not get my hopes up.
So I had my appointment today. I have progressed to 3cm and 80% effaced! It's nice I've made progress over these past few weeks! My doctor offered to induce me tomorrow (39w5d). I'm super excited, she's my favorite doctor in the practice and the midwife is on tomorrow! One of my good friends from work that now works in L&D is working tomorrow as well! I'm so excited to meet our LO, now it's hitting me. I'm going to be a mommy tomorrow!! I'll keep you posted. Going in at 2am as long as I don't get bumped!
I had my 39week appointment today. No change from last week, so still 1cm and 50 % effaced. Doc said no to induction and wants me to wait another week. I have to go for an ultrasound on Monday to see how big baby is, and back to the OB on Tuesday. Unfortunately, I don't know the doctor who will be covering for my normal OB, who goes on Vacation starting Monday.
I have my pre op appointment today and I'm so nervous. My surgery is tomorrow and while I can't wait to meet my baby boy the consent form I had to sign yesterday freaked me out! I forgot to ask what the pre op appointment entailed.
@slycat SAME! I have my pre op at 12:30 today and when the doctor was going over all of the risks before I signed the form I probably looked like a deer in headlights. I'm excited but with the day being scheduled I've had way too much time to focus on what could go wrong with me and baby.
@thisisnumber3 I had trace amount of protein in my urine yesterday but because my blood pressure was "great," they weren't worried about it. It is a pre-e thing.
Still at my pre op appointment. My blood pressure decided to be high today after being good for months! She took it three different times and it was above 140/90 all three times. She had to call my doctors office and they had her do a cath lab which is where they want a sample of urine straight from my bladder, I'm assuming to check for pre e. So I'm laying here just waiting on the results to come back. At least I didn't have to go to my last appointment with my office, I was dreading it. It always takes forever to get in and out of there.
I had my 38 week appointment this morning at 38w2d and was sent to L&D after 2 high blood pressure readings. I hung out there for 3 hours to be sent home (which is a blessing everything was good and a curse because I am so ready)!! They did tell me I'm 2cm dilated and 50% effaced though! And that they predict this boy is well above 8lbs right now yikes!
Hoping everyone else has great, productive appointments this week!
I went to Dr appointment and i dilated one more cm and just have to wait for contractions to be 5mins apart to head to hospital, I am hoping that she comes because if not they will talk to me about induction on Tuesday after my due date and i sure don't want to be induced
I wasn't going to get checked today because I knew I would just be disappointed. Well, Dh was able to come for once so I went ahead and got checked. No progress. Disappointed. Next week we'll do an ultrasound to check fluids since that was what lead to induction last time. Discussed possible induction dates of either the 24th or the 29th because my doctor is going out of town to run a marathon. She's a badass.
Had my 39 week appointment today at 39w3d. It was originally scheduled for tomorrow but yesterday I called and had it moved to today due to lack of fetal movement. Her heartbeat sounded great and she was moving, I'm just not feeling it anymore. I guess it's really subtle compared to before. I got a check and am still just as dilated as last week (only a finger tip) but she's finally dropped! My cervix is still posterior, but my doctor could feel her head, which is good. I'm waiting to hear back from my doctor in the next day or two. She's scheduling an induction for 41 weeks and is currently playing phone tag with the hospital. She's hoping I go into labor on my own before then, but I just don't see that happening.
Had my 37 week appointment I'm 37wks and 4days. Just checked my stomach growth and LO's heartbeat. My doctor said if I'm still there next week then he'll check if I'm dialated. I really wanted to know. I don't see him till the end of next week when I'll be almost 39 weeks. And he won't induce until 41 weeks. I'm really hoping he comes on his due date, I don't want to wait till 41 weeks.
I had my 39 week appt yesterday and opted to be checked even though my regular doctor is on vacation and I had the PA instead. I've gone from 1/2 cm to 1 cm since 36 weeks (womp womp). I'm kicking myself now because I meant to ask about a membrane sweep and totally forgot. If I am still pregnant next week I'll make sure I remember. We talked about scheduling the induction at my 40 week appointment and I'm hoping she won't make me wait til 41 weeks because I have a history of a big baby (DS was a 9-pounder) and this one has been measuring a week ahead.
@Katm89 I had the nurse practitioner which she is not able to schedule inductions which just bursted my bubble. She said if i have no baby by this weekend or due date than on my next appt on Tuesday with my OB we will discuss induction, I am so ready to have her, today i have been crying and emotional wreck because its all sore and lower back and even to walk it takes time because of how sore I am
I don't want to be induce at all, that is something i fear but my body and this lil girl are just quite the tease of the last couple of days of pregnancy for me, @Katm89 I am rooting for you as well as a FTM these last couple days seems like they have been years of pregnancy lbvs now i understand many pregnant women that stated the last couple days just tend to suck
Had my 39 week appointment today, and we set an induction date of Tuesday, August 16 due to excessive amniotic fluid. While I'm hoping little man comes on his own this weekend, I have to admit, having a set end date has made my day!
Had my 37 week apt today and was told baby is completely breech. I'm so upset, now I'm just waiting to hear from the doctor who will schedule me to come in for a external version in hopes to turn her around. I just really wasn't expecting to get that news and am doubtful of how successful that procedure will even be

oh, and doc said I look like a watermelon.
