Yup, baby is fine. My husband grumbled and called them "greedy insurance sluts" because he thinks they are test happy. I never had a NST with DD and only had 2 u/s. I've had too many to count at this point.
@caitlinj187 Boo, but glad to hear the GBS was neg! You'll have more progress next week!
I have my 38 week apt next Monday at 38w 5d. This will be my last one since I am being induced on Friday 8/5. I am hoping that LO will come on her own but who knows. I was 1cm and 50% effaced two weeks ago. I am hoping with all of these Braxton hicks contractions I dialated a little more.
Had my 36 week appointment this week. GBS test came back negative. I am dialated to 2 and my cervix is really soft. Doctor said "that just means it could be any day or baby could hang out for a few more weeks". Great lol.
Had my 38 week appointment today. I met the new midwife at my practice (my favorite one left a few weeks ago). She was nice enough but I was annoyed she kept calling me 37 weeks (I'll be 38 weeks TOMORROW!). GBS was negative so that's good. Belly is still measuring a week ahead. Hope baby isn't huge!
Just got back from an ultrasound that I had due to them thinking baby was too small and they say she's 6lbs 9 ounces (estimated obvs) That doesn't seem small to me! I'm 37+6 today. Cervix is 1 centimeter dilated and 70% effaced. At least it's something.
I'm 37+3 today. I'm dilated to a 3 and 30% effaced. I asked the doctor about my measurement today to see if he was measuring big since they made such a big stink about it a few months ago.
She says I'm right on track but offered me an ultrasound for next week so they can see how estimate how much the baby weighs. I know these can be inaccurate too especially so late term.
Today my DH suggested just skipping all my appts until I go into labor and I'm seriously considering it.
So my doctor mentioned he was measuring at 40 weeks, based on belly measurements... What happens now? I mean theoretically I could have another month... How high does the belly chart go?
I had my final doctor/NST appt today (csection scheduled for Tuesday the 2nd). Everything went great, strong heartbeat. The dr noticed I was having regular contractions around 5-7 mins apart but no other progress that would insist on L&D. With that being said I get to relax at home until the 2nd unless baby girl decides to make her way suddenly earlier.
@Allisun85 The belly measurement is actually based on the fundal height -- the top of your pubic bone to the top of your uterus should correspond in centimeters to the number of weeks you are. So if you are measuring 40 weeks, then your fundal height is 40 cm. How high it goes depends on the person, I guess, like how long your torso is.
Still only 1 cm dilated and 80% effaced at 39+2. She did confirm that the tightening I've been feeling up high and breathlessness is most likely BH... So at least there's that!
I had my 36 week appt. today. They estimate her weight at about 6lbs. My GBS test was negative but I had a little protein in my urine. She didn't make it sound like it was a big deal so I guess that's fine? She told me in the next week or two they will basically do another anatomy scan to check the placenta, cervix, etc. They don't do cervix checks here which I'm fine with. I think I would deny one anyways right now.
We also went to the delivery floor and got paperwork to bring with us to the hospital when it's time to deliver. The receptionist was telling me she thinks American women are the strongest when it comes to giving birth, that a lot of them will not get an epidural. I said, nope! This American is definitely getting it.
@Hannah0726 If they do a dip urine for the protein and it was trace I wouldn't worry. Those strips are measured color metrically and sometimes the pigment of your urine can influence the result. As long as your BP, vision, and swelling is normal, I wouldn't think twice about it. Hope this helps.

@midwestbaby Thanks! What do you mean by vision though? I've been having these periods of seeing little black dots if that makes sense, but it only lasts a couple minutes. They checked my blood pressure twice today, when I first got there and then the doctor asked them to do it again and it was okay after that. I haven't had any swelling.
@Hannah0726 it's good they checked your blood pressure twice. I always make them take it twice too because they check it right after I sit down and they should technically check it after you have been sitting/at rest for at least five minutes.
Preeclampsia can present with blurry/seeing spots/dizzy vision. It doesn't hurt to call your OB if you think your vision is off.
I kinda hate the dip stick urines because I don't think they are completely accurate (when resulting them I sometimes put disclaimers if the urine is really concentrated). If it would make you feel better, you could always request a chemistry protein run on your urine, which is an actual quantitative measurement of protein in your urine. Usually it's ordered as a protein/creatinine ratio. I'm not gonna lie, I've run them on myself after I found trace protein in my urine and it was completely normal. The one plus to working in the lab. Ha!

@Hannah0726 I've been seeing spots this whole pregnancy and I've had really low blood pressure (which is my normal when not pregnent) the whole time. I usually get it when I bend over or stand up too fast. Is that when you get them? If so, I don't think that's anything to worry about.
Recently I've had bad swelling and my blood pressure, while not high, is higher than my normal. I've also been getting headaches and blurred vision, but I get that when not pregnant too so my doctor doesn't seem too worried. It's hard not to worry about pre-e though!
@JournoGrl23 I haven't stopped to think about when they happen. I do remember it happened when I was just sitting on the floor going through baby clothes. But maybe it happened right when I bent over and sat down? Not sure. I feel like I just shrug things off because this pregnancy has been very uneventful, no Braxton hicks, nothing. But I do need to start paying more attention.
@JournoGrl23@Hannah0726 I sometimes feel like this kid is making me a hypochondriac. Every little twinge or weird feeling at this point could mean labor. Last night I didn't feel her move for a while so I was drinking cherry coke and telling her it was party time!

@midwestbaby haha, I am a hypochondriac naturally so that happens to me quite a bit too! Pregnancy calmed me down a little in that I dismiss most things as pregnancy related. But when it comes to LO I freak out a lot. I woke up in the middle of the night last night and refused to go back to sleep until I felt her move. Took a while because I assume she was sleeping too.
Bumping this back to the top...I have my 38 week appointment tomorrow and I can't wait to find out if the contractions and cramping I've been having all weekend have dilated me anymore, FX.
Well i have my next appt tomorrow and hopefully i hear good news as far as me having baby girl because I do not know how long i can last in all this pain that comes and goes i had few strong contractions and being so damn sore down there and leg cramps and restless nights now very uncomfortable
38 week appt tonight. I am practicing patience today... because this morning I woke up so done and felt like why oh why am I still pregnant... but only 2 weeks until my due date... I should be stoked! Almost over!!!
Had my 36wk appt this morning.... Ob seemed busy/distracted,didn't even tell me when to come back. LOL The lady who schedules appointments saw me as I was walking out and asked "Do you need to schedule another appointment?" I said "I don't know! He didn't tell me LOL". She scheduled me for next week.
Cervical check didn't hurt as much as I thought it would, he said it's closed. We're trying to narrow down the repeat c/section date.
Then I got home and checked my urine test results and I have a handful that were over the standard range - ugh. So I'm freaking out thinking something is wrong with my liver or kidney's... Waiting to hear back from my OB - sent him an email. Blood pressure is good, didn't gain any weight in the past 2 weeks, feel fine...
I had my 38 week appointment today. Doc says I'm 50% and dilated about 1cm and he could feel baby's head. My back has been hurting a lot more the past couple of days, so I'm wondering what that's all about. I head back next Tuesday if we haven't had a baby by then, and we will discuss induction at that time. I also gained a pound, FINALLY! After losing for weeks straight! The nurse said baby is pretty much taking up all the space he has, and my fundal height is pretty much at its max. She says I'll start to get wider now. It just kind of annoyed me the way she said it!
Sitting in the office waiting room right now. I'm day dreaming that when I go back and they check me I'm like 5-6 cm and 100% effaced and they say go home get your stuff and meet us at the hospital! Hey, one can dream right?!
I have my 37 week appointment today. Last week my body was already progressing so I am hoping for more good news. I have been having contractions (not consistent enough to time) so maybe they have been doing their job!
So I'm still 2 cm, went from 50% to 70% effaced .. not sure if I'm more disappointed that my dream did not come true or that I'm going to have to go back to work tomorrow and hear "omg you're still pregnant?!" Ugh .. good luck at your appointments this week ladies!
Had my 37 week appointment this morning. I'm 2cm and about 50% effaced and doctor said she could feel his head nice and low . Lucky me, there was a first year nurse practitioner making rounds with my doctor, so I got to be checked twice (massive sarcasm here). Good luck to everyone going this week. Hoping for progress for all!
Just had my 38 week appointment, I've only progressed about .5cm and I'm 70% effaced...super bummed. I was hoping to be at least 2 or 3cm, oh well at least I'm making some progress.
Still at 1 cm, so they are checking me in tonight instead of tomorrow morning to start Cervadil in prep for the induction tomorrow. They are estimating baby is 8 lbs 11 oz, so I'm glad he/she isn't getting a chance to get bigger! Looks like they probably won't let me eat once I check in, so last meal will be before 7 pm tonight...not really thrilled about that. Feeling nervous and excited. Hopefully we'll have a baby tomorrow.

39w6d today at my appointment today. Last check I was 0 cm dilated and today I was 3cm! My OB was really glad that I am finally making progress. I did get my induction scheduled for next Friday but my OB doesn't think I'll make it that long. She did strip my membranes (which wasn't bad at all) so hopefully things get going soon!
Well i went to my docs appt today and i am dialated 2cm and baby girl is on my pelvic bone so that is why i feel so uncomfortable down there, he felt her head he said, and if she is to be born today she would be anywhere between 7.5-8lbs. He said she is ready is just all about when contractions kick in or water breaking. This is getting so real now I can't wait and DH wants her to be born on Saturday for his birthday and i told him we will see what happens.
So this thread was started while I was on vacation, so I profusely apologize for being super inactive on it until today, but I need to vent/cry/break things/whatever right now. I just got back from my weekly appt and we discussed the possibility of VBAC since we now know baby is much smaller than his sister. My OB is all for it and is even willing to let me go to 41 weeks...etc. So I got my first and only cervical check to see how we're progressing. I'm 38+5 today and I have ZERO progress, zip, zilch, nada. Not dilated at all, and baby is still so high up she can't even feel his head! She said usually by 37w they start to feel the head and have some dilated, so it's unusual that I have no progress at almost 39w. This pretty much told me that I'm going to end up with a c-section anyway because I likely won't progress quickly enough to go into labor before d-day. And I'm fine with the RCS, but I really had my hopes up after finding out that it might be a possibility. I want nothing to do with being induced after my horrible experience last time, so that's not even an option for me. It just gets me back to thinking about what a failure my body is with this whole baby thing.....two IVF babies because god forbid my ovaries do something normal like ovulate on their own, now two c-sections because well since my body can't make a baby the normal way why would it be so inclined to push one out the normal way?? I'm just hoping breastfeeding goes better this time, but god only knows what I should expect with that this time, too. I totally turned this into a pity party for myself, but I saw a glimmer and now I can't help but feel disappointment in my body.
Just had my 38 week appointment, I've only progressed about .5cm and I'm 70% effaced...super bummed. I was hoping to be at least 2 or 3cm, oh well at least I'm making some progress.
I went in on the 27th (Wednesday) and I had zero progress. My next appointment was Aug 1st (Monday) and I was dilated to a 2. I know in my head that you can stay dilated for weeks before even having the baby, but I was so discouraged to hear that there was zero dilation at the first check, and it was like a small victory to know that things are happening now. Hang in there! Progress is coming!!
Sending you hugs! Sorry to hear it. But as PP said things can change quickly. These things mess with our heads! Thinking of you.
37w appt today, dilated to 2mm, 50% effaced, -3 station. Baby has a ton of fluid (AFI 22!) but doc said it's slightly subjective as fluid was 18 on Friday. Oh and I gained 4 lbs since Friday? Wtf. Doc said it's because I was in a different room. Uh ok. Hours later, I'm exhausted, hot, shaky, achy, and crampy.
I hope I don't go into labor soon because I'm so tired and not in the right head space for an unmedicated birth. Ok appt rant over.
@SkiChic626 Hang in there mama! You never know, things could change overnight or very quickly. I will be keeping you in my thoughts!

Went to see my midwife today even though my 37 week appointment isn't until Thursday. I have been having stabbing pains all day and decided to skip work to see what it was. I haven't progressed any further than my last appointment, 6 days ago, but they said her head is still right there and if I wanted to feel it I could. I took a hard pass on that.
I guess baby is sitting on a nerve and possibly her face is forward and the hard part of her head is pressing on my back causing pain. They sent me home with stretches to get baby girl to turn her head off those nerves. I feel slightly panicked because when I get these pains, I can't even breathe through them. How the hell am I going to manage labor?!
