  • @lilylover27 I'm so sorry about this scare. I will say that I went to Mexico while TTC my 2nd loss. There had been transmissions in the state we were in, but they were so far away from us. I wore a TON of bug spray and did not get a single bite. DH maybe got 1 bite. The thing to keep in mind is that at this point, 99%of the mosquitos still probably aren't carrying the disease. If you do everything right as far as wearing bug spray, the chances are extremely good that you will not be exposed. When I was pregnant there wasn't a blood test for Zika readily available. Does anyone know if that's changed yet? I'd imagine they would have to have one VERY soon with the disease hitting the US mosquitos now.
  • @brooklyngirl18 we are going to be right outside of Orlando and they think the case may be in Miami-Dade county so kind of close at least in my opinion. The wedding is of course outdoors and by a lake to boot. I am watching the news very closely to see if they confirm it. I have bug spray already with DEET and DH is on board to wear a crap load of it too. Like I said I was already anxious about flying and now this.

@chloe97 I believe they do have a blood test for Zika but I think I read somewhere it takes weeks for the results.

I know saying 'i'm sure you'll be fine' doesn't help your anxiety at all but I really do think you'll be ok. who plans an outdoor wedding in florida in july anyway? ugh so hot! my brother got married in miami on july 4th weekend a few years back and i wanted to kill him.

So sorry about the ZIKA scare :( I'd be freaked out, too.

Just wanted to say I'm officially CD1 today and doing all the things and hoping DH is here during FW!

  • Aww thank you @AliciaGoose but I feel like I don't get to be too upset about it since it was our first cycle TTCAL and we weren't supposed to start until September and I think DH decided too late in this last cycle anyways, so I'm trying to just be grateful that we're actually trying earlier than planned. It seemed to sting more a few days before AF than it does now; I've just been trying to think of all the ways that we could possibly do better this cycle. It's strangely the best I've felt about AF in years, which is kind of odd and I KNOW will be the only month from now on that I'll feel like that so I guess I'll take it?  But it's like I think I have control over any of this, when I don't really. But I'll drink all the teas and take all the vits/supps and pee on all the sticks as tho it's my damn job and take the positivity when I can maintain it because I know there we will be many a hard day ahead....
  • @rainbowturtles I am glad you are taking CD1 is stride! Loving the positive outlook :)

CD 13 here and had a temp dip this morning so maybe gearing up for O! If it is this has been the first time I have had symptoms with O! I swear if I didn't have AF I would think I was KU!! Random nausea, sore boobs, cramping and super tired! Anyone else get O symptoms like these? I swear I have never had any before so it is just so strange to me!

  • @rainbowturtles i'm glad to hear you're feeling so positive, that's great!
@lilylover27 yay for impending O! i never get get any O symptoms and go crazy trying to pinpoint the day so i'm jealous lol

i'm over here twiddling my thumbs at CD8. DH is sick as a dog but at least it's good timing in my cycle, I don't normally ovulate til CD 18-20. hopefully he'll be better and ready to HIO by then.

  • I'm sitting here in CD18 when I normally O also twiddling my thumbs. I had my first good EWCM this morning which prior to my loss would mean O in a couple days. But last cycle (my first cycle post loss) I had 8 days of EWCM before O. And since my OPK was still super negative this morning I'm betting it's going to be a bit still.

I told DH all of that this morning and he was like "I don't know if I can go at it for 8 more days". I was like suck it up I'll give you a break or two in there somewhere!

Also I want to wait until at least 12:30 to take my afternoon OPK but it's 11:40 and I have to pee and I don't know if I'll make it! Ah.

  • @lilylover27 I don't seem to get tell-tale O PAIN like many others but I do seem to get O symptoms sort of like you describe. I think my body can be really sensitive to hormone fluctuations (among everything else ugh). I get headaches, fatigue, sometimes nausea, and then usually have been getting the side breasts after/day of O. Hope you get your O soon!

@brooklyngirl18 really hope DH is better in time for O!

@AliciaGoose hopefully you'll O sooner than later and that DH can keep up until you do ;)

I *knew* I had to appreciate that positivity because it might not last and BOOM lol Not feeling down about anything in particular this morning, just feeling low, kind of drained (might have gone too hard in the exercise department this week but I jus really want to improve!), and the weather has turned, which never helps. Also, I'm sure I've mentioned my shallow, dream-filled sleeps before? Well I had a gross dream (none of it makes sense but I'll explain it as it was) where we were at one of my old houses. There was kind of a river flowing into the lake and there were all these baby seals floating in it, trying to get to the ocean and their moms but there wasn't enough water. We were trying to help but there were just so many of them and many were dying and it was awful. Just left a gross feeling in me when I woke up :(

So now I'm just going to drink my teas and try to practice my music and get in a better mood but I'm kind of hoping the event I'm supposed to perform at tonight gets rained out, because I'm just not feeling it now :/

  • Back over here on CD 1. Let's try these shenannigans again.

CD1. I'm relieved but surprised I got my period right on time after the D&C. I don't temp or OPK but this is a good sign I probably won't have to worry about wonky cycles.

I'm just starting to temp again after my miscarriage. Is it normal for temps to be all over the place? I'm not a great sleeper, but I take them at almost the exact same time every day

  • @mamashan12 my first cycles after my MCs have crazy temperatures all over the place.  The first chart cycle after my d&c did end up having a clear temperature shift, but was still wonky.  This time, I have even more ridiculous temperatures (natural MC this time) and so far no clear shift.
I don't take my temperatures at the same time every day, due to a weird work schedule.  I take mine immediately upon waking, regardless of time.  However, I've almost always had a very clear temperature shift.
Btw, I can't see your chart.

  • @mamashan12 Unfortunately there is no "normal" after a MC. My body has done some really strange things after both D&Cs. Your temps may jump around for a few weeks, ovulation could be delayed, or your luteal phase could be longer or shorter. I didn't even bother temping right after my last D&C, which I now regret because I'm still curious if my temps would have shown a distinct follicular and luteal phase with a period with no bleeding.

It your MC was pretty early, from what I understand, things are more likely to normalize with your 2nd cycle. Good luck to you!

    Yay for CD1 @mjolk
  • @dpjennifer thanks! How do I get my chart in here, I can't figure it out.

i miscarried at 5 weeks. Since it was so early, I wasn't sure what to expect this month.
  • @chloe97 thanks - it was early, so I'm hoping it returns to normal quickly. From my google searches it sounded like my body would likely treat it as a period. When I charted when I got pregnant with my daughter my temps didn't bounce around that much, so I was a bit confused. I suppose I also wasn't getting up during the night with her back then.
  • @mamashan12 cycles after loss can be so out of whack. Hopefully everything stabilizes soon and you can get a good sense of what is going on.

AFM: I am CD 16. I tend to ovulate anywhere between CD16-19. I have consistently long natural cycles. Since this is my first un-medicated cycle in a bit, things seem strange. I took an OPK this morning and it was negative, but I did have a patch of EWCM so I am hoping I get a positive soon. I just want reassurance my body is back to it's normal pattern.

  • @taggarab That's so scary that you were still having "periods" while going through your ectopic. What a false sense of security and to add to the anxiety of the future. For me, my temps would often stay high a few days into my period and then drop off.
  • Thanks @BornReady. I'm not gonna lie, a lot of times I will take a preg test 2 weeks in to make sure. I'm sure it will probably drop down more in a day or two, but I miss the time when I was oblivious to all the things that can go wrong. I'm sure we all miss that.

Lurking: sorry for the CD1s. It's so frustrating!

Just had to comment that what @Taggarab and @BornReady said resonates with me. I want to be pregnant so badly, but am also terrified of being pregnant again. "I miss the time when I was oblivious to all the things that can go wrong."  and "I hate that I can't just be happily surprised by a pregnancy or even enjoy it without obsessing..." both ring so true for me (and most of us, I imagine).

I am keeping all of you in my thoughts as you approach the next cycle. xo

  • @crazypt2285 Uhh, what the heck is wrong with people?!?! When I was on the Bump TTC #1 a person was being stalked by an ex of her DH. It was bizarre. She was taking screen shots of things this person would write and send it to her to let her know she was watching.
  • @BornReady it sucks because I think I can go somewhere and be open and honest only to find out I am secretly being watched. I hate it and feel very guarded now. I love this community and it has helped me more than anyone knows.
  • i totally relate to wishing I could still be blissfully naive about pregnancy. I wish i didn't have to temp, chart, stress, worry, obsess, etc etc etc. i'm not even pregnant and i'm overwhelmed.

I started out super positive but the last 2 weeks have been absolute hell in my house in terms of health. DH is still getting over Hand Foot and Mouth, he's covered in painful blisters all over his face hands and body and i'm not sure if he'll be recovered enough to try this month. we haven't BD in weeks due to my period and then this so i don't even know what the quality will be if he's able to perform. DS first got HFM a few days before passing it to DH  and he's still got blisters on his feet so i don't think DH will clear up anytime soon.

Oh no! That sounds horrible @brooklyngirl18 So sorry :( And sucks even more if it interferes with TTC :( Hope everyone feels better soon

AFM, DH is home tonight after a week away so I think we're both pretty excited :) I'm CD6 and my O has been all over the place these past few cycles, if at all, but I usually get EWCM around CD10/11. He'll be here until the morning of CD13 so all we can do is our best and hope for the best lol! I'm drinking all the teas and potions and will try OPKs starting CD9 probably, but I don't have very many so we'll see how that goes!

Rant: I know this is my fault, but I forgot to bring my OPKs on my trip last week (CD 21-27) so I wasn't able to track then. However, I got a negative OPK from CD 8-20 and negative from CD 27 to now (CD 31) and I still have no period and a BFN yesterday. So I'm not even sure if I have ovulated yet
  • Goodluck @rainbowturtles! What teas are you drinking? I was looking into those the other day.

I'm on cycle day 11 but my chart is so erratic and I've had EWCM for a few days, so I'm confused. My guess is I'll O around cycle day 18 or so, I'm just confused by all the crazy temps.
  • I've been a little MIA the past week...mental health break I guess. I am on CD 25  and still waiting to O. I had about 3 days of pink EWCM, but no positive OPK (just varying degrees of faint 2nd lines on Wondfos). I usually O around CD 25, and was really hoping to have a positive OPK this morning.

@brooklyngirl18 I hope your DH feels better--that sounds terrible!
