Had some more of what I've described as period cramps starting around midnight. They didn't seem to be going away and hurt pretty bad but were almost impossible for me to time like contractions. When I told DH he convinced me we might as well go get it checked out. At this point I'm bored with pregnancy and haven't been to L&D yet so after about 30 more minutes, I agreed. Why not. Well I'm hooked up and turns out the "period cramps" the doctors have all assured me are not Braxton hicks are indeed contractions. Not really sure about my progress yet. I had an extremely painful only semi-successful cervical check and I'm kind of traumatized. I have never had that kind of pain inflicted upon me and I really really really don't want to do it again. As soon as the nurse left the room I burst into tears. She asked what they said at my last check and then just said, "well I don't think you're more than that." Just waiting for the doctor to check me out. ( Of course it would be the only doctor I'm not a big fan of on call tonight.)
@Car0liiine - I'm sorry it's the doctor you're not a fan of. I had a sucky OB at first (thankfully a better one came on about 6 hours later). She also sucked at cervical checks.
@Car0liiine I'm so sorry you had such a negative experience! I hope you get clearer answers soon, and that you get to meet your LO today. I'm up with the same kind of period cramps since about 9:30, off and on. I'm waiting to see if they intensify a little more, since contractions were significantly more painful when I was in labor with DS1.
Well the doctor never even came in to see me. Just had nurse ham hands come tell me I could either walk around for a couple of hours our go home. We just got home. I know I need to try and sleep but not sure how that's gonna happen. I'm also a little confused about what's supposed to alert me to go back since these contractions are getting more painful and are like 3 minutes apart ( kinda inconsistent though.) I guess I'll just go if my water breaks or I can't stand the pain? Ugh. I'm so sorry for all of y'all who've been having contractions for days/weeks! This is pretty miserable. Really hoping things will progress and this will be over soon. (And hopefully there will be a doctor I like when we go back.)
@Car0liiine aw man that stinks. I hope you get a clear answer soon or some relief. I did laugh at the term "nurse ham hands" though.

@Car0liiine i am so sorry for the bad experience i would have been like someone needs to make ish clear for me of what is going on, can you go see your OB to see what he/she says? I would not be at ease at all
At labor and delivery, contractions 3 minutes apart. Waiting on the midwife to find out if we are having a baby today or heading home! FX... I am so done.

Only 2 cm and 60. They are keeping me for now, if I can make progress on my own we're having a baby. If not, they will stop my contractions and send me home to rest.
C'mon baby!
Thanks for all the support guys! Contractions continued through maybe around 8 this morning when I was finally able to drift off. Woke up a little while ago and everything has stopped, which I'm kind of grateful for honestly. If things start again I will go in to my OB group's office. Just hoping next time is the real deal. Fyi - The reason the cervical check was so bad was that my cervix was way up high and baby's head was way down low so she was having to push under and up behind her head to get to it. I'm just going to tell them from now on, if it's not easily accessible, I'm declining the check and we will wait.
I made some progress, but not enough. The midwife said at this rate we're looking at a multi day labor, so she wants me to go home, take a sedative, eat a bunch, labor at home for awhile and hopefully come back very soon, further along and rested and fed.
@Car0liiine - i'm telling you the one OB who caused me so much pain said the exact same thing. Meanwhile three other docs were able to give me cervical checks that were a lot less painful Still quite uncomfortable but not as painful!
Have been at the hospital for a scheduled induction for gd since 7pm last night. Given cervadil at 8:50pm yesterday and pitocin today at 7:30am. Making some progress but the doctor will check again at 7pm and if no more progress by 9pm we will need to discuss c section. Very long, rough day with lots of throwing up. Hoping for good news soon!
At L&D being monitored. Had my 38 week appointment today any my BP was 180/80 and then 170/82. My doctor was not happy and told me she thinks we'll be doing the c-section tonight.
Once I got to the hospital, my BP leveled out to 120s/60s. They're doing a urine test to check for protein and then maybe doing blood work. Now we wait.

Fx you've progressed more on your own. Throwing up can be a good sign!
