TTC After a Loss

**June TWW**

Re: **June TWW**

  • Congrats @dpjennifer !!

@iceandsnowflakes29 hoping for the best for you.

So I didn't intend to be in the TWW, but I am. We were going to take this first cycle after my D&C off. I thought we were in the clear (because I have wonky cycles to begin with and let's be honest, we had spent the evening playing croquet and drinking gin and tonics, so clear thinking was not at its peak...) so we were a little careless when we BD, then the next day a positive OPK and two day later my temp went up. So here I am 6 dpo.

I don't know if my heart is ready to be here yet, and feel like such a flake for being so careless. One positive thing is I had my follow up appointment Friday and my Dr. assured me it would be okay if it happened again this soon.

  • @Amdogger82 I took a 3 month break after my last loss and still lost this one so, I'm not convinced breaks do any good outside of mental health benefits.

FX you get a pleasant surprise :)
  • @Amdogger82 Hoping for the best for you, no matter what!
  • It's 5 DPO and I'm already having to talk myself out of not POAS every time I use the master bathroom (where the pee sticks are). I haven't caved yet, because I still have a semblance of a rational mind. I also haven't had any preggo symptoms yet to obsess over.

My new Harvest Moon 3DS game that will distract me this TWW isn't arriving in the mail until Tuesday. Uff. Pokémon and Mad Men it is.
  • @dubcompanion I'm here at 5dpo as well. Maybe we can talk each other out of POAS! I don't have any symptoms yet either ex spy for sore boobs at night which is also an ad symptom for me. Trying to stay busy this week with working fulltime and teaching.

  • @MooFish2364 Good to know I've got a POAS partner-in-crime! I will be good with talking you out of it for several days, although I miiiight start laying on some peer pressure down the road. Just a warning.

    What's an ad symptom?
  • @dubcompanion and @MooFish2364 I am right there with you. I just bought tests when I went grocery shopping and they are calling my name for absolutely no good reason. I forgot how much $$$ I peed on TTC before!
  • @Amdogger82 agree on the expense of HPTS. I need to order Wondfos or swear off testing until I'm late.

Sorry!  I'm a lurker from WTO.
  • @Amdogger82 Woo, glad we're in this together. Yeah, HPTs are hella expensive. Even though I have 20 Wondfo HPTs, I also ordered Clear Blues that are arriving via Amazon Prime on Tuesday. I used those to validate my previous BFP along with internet cheapie tests, so my thinking is that if I have CBs in possession again, then this'll be the month I get KU with my rainbow baby. Whatever helps, amirite?

@iceandsnowflakes29 Are you going to start TTC again this upcoming cycle?
  • Lol! I can't keep tests in the house anymore because the urge to pee on them early is so high and boy does that expense add quickly! I even get DH to pick up my tamps&such because they're in the same aisle as the pregnancy tests.

  • @dubcompanion I meant to say "af."  That's what I get for not proof reading.

@Amdogger82 just like @dubcompanion I use Wondfos for initial BFPs then use another htp to confirm.

@iceandsnowflakes29 you should totally get some Wondfos...much more budget friendly.

I I actually do pretty good holding off POAS. I hate seeing BFNs. I'd almost rather just start af. Not quite sure why.

  • @MooFish2364 Gotcha. I tend to not proofread until after I post, leading to LOTS of edited posts. Basically, if I don't explain an edit, it's 100% bc I fixed grammar/spelling.

Totally get not wanting to see BFNS. AF is an answer in its own right and also signifies starting over. BFNs can lead to false hope and at worst are soul crushers.
  • @MooFish2364 I need to get more pregnancy test wondfos. I bought the combo pack with opks a while ago and went through the pregnancy tests pretty quickly but still have opks coming out my ears. Naturally.
I would like to do a better job of just waiting for AF...BFNs are such a roller coaster. This month i am hoping to wait to cd 15 just because DH is out of town. I got my BFP when he was gone and I had to sit with this huge news for three days.
  • I am back after a hiatus for most of June. Currently 3DPO. For whatever reason I am feeling really positive and optimistic about this cycle. Here's to hoping.

    DD1 born 5/24/10.

    Missed M/C at 14 wks Feb 2012.

    DD2 born 5/14/13.

    Missed M/C at 9 wks July 2015.

    Expecting someone new 4/17/17.
  • @dubcompanion  I don't know what my plans are regarding ttc. I can get pregnant every single month we try. I just can't stay pregnant. I'm torn on doing another go around or pushing for some RPL testing.  However, I really don't want to call an RE yet, because I haven't been TTC a year, and I just turned 30.
  • @iceandsnowflakes29 Yeah. I wish there was a solid answer for ya.

    @MWoodside Welcome back!

I've been overall upbeat this TWW. I know I've mentioned this 42 times but it's my first month temping. 4 DPO I had a .35 degree drop in temp and today (6 DPO) I had a .27 degree drop. Both of those temps are still above CL. I'm assuming  and hoping those drops are normal... :grimace:
  • @dubcompanion FX those dips are good signs! I don't have much experience on temping as the first cycle I finally decided to temp I got my first BFP, so I am still learning what is normal for my temps. But lets hope those dips are "implantation" dips!

  • @lilylover27 Thanks! I did read that dips .3 degrees or greater can be implantation! I am just unsure because 4 DPO seems too early? And while a 6 DPO dip looks good, I don't know if the 4 DPO overrides that. But what do I know, I'm a n00b!
  • @dubcompanion I know it is hard but just try to ride it out! I would already be SS if I was you but I am cray cray like that! My BFP cycle I havd a dip of .37 at 5DPO but who knows!

  • @dubcompanion slight temp dips are normal (at least for me anyways). As long as you stay above CL you should be ok. So many things can effect your temp. Even weather changes. I've had strange temps all month and even though I'm 6dpo I still don't have crosshairs. Not that I'm some benchmark for what's normal

@Spartanrd4 that's such great news! Hopefully it's a fertile time for us Michiganders

  • Yay yay @Spartanrd4 Congrats!!
  • @MooFish2364 Hey, if it's fertile time for Michigan, could you kick some of that goodness over to Iowa?

Also, how crazy is that TWW-er who went over to WTO to talk about POAS? Who does that?!
  • Congrats @Spartanrd4!!

I'm roughly 9dpo and thinking about starting a streak of obsessively POAS tomorrow. I'm a wondfo girl, but I also heard the SurePredicts claim to detect @10ml, so I have both and am masking my crazy under the guise of scientific experimentation.

  • @MissPrint1219 I use SurePredicts! This month I have those, Wondfos (because they came with the OPKs), and CBs. I'm not usually that uh, well-prepared lol, but I'm going to go with your reasoning as well. Cuz Science.
  • @Spartanrd4 Congratulations!

  • @dubcompanion if there is something special about fertility in Michigan I will totally kick it your way! And I'm not going to lie...it's pretty crazy

  • Well technically Iowa is still in the Midwest...that counts doesn't it @dubcompanion? ;) I think fertile Michigan can share!
