@Griffin5413 I don't know if this will make you feel better,  but I know of several women that were dilated 2-3cm for over two weeks before going into labor. So even though you are dilated and effaced , you may still have some time!

Hi guys! It was a really long labor and delivery but he's here! At 35 weeks he was 6.6 pounds and 20 inches long. I'm still in the hospital for the preeclampsia and my blood pressure but we are good. Noah only spent one day in the NICU and is doing great.

@Drove2u we agreed on the first name that I picked out so I had to give in on the middle name that husband likes. We're waiting until his birth to announce it, but it wasn't as painful of a process as I thought it would be since we're both stubborn lol. Are there any names that you both love that you can combine as first and middle name? Or a tradition of naming your baby after someone?

We have a middle one which is agreed on because it's after his family member who passed away. But we can't agree on a first. Ugh.

@drove2u we have two first names picked out (both of which we both like) but we want to see him/meet him before deciding which one to go with.  The middle name is actually more complicated because in my husband's family they have a tradition of naming the middle name after the father (so the middle name would be my husband's name) and in my family we name after a grandfather.  So baby boy might have two middle names!

Hey ladies quick update... my water broke around 11:45 on Tuesday night. Contractions started around 6am with the help of Patocin. Started pushing around 6:40pm but by 9:30 he had not descended enough so ob recommended c-section. Eli Jack Griffin was born at 10:40 and he's absolutely perfect.

How is everyone doing? We had our baby shower last weekend (it was a co-ed casual affair, exactly what I wanted).  Other than that, just getting big.  Seriously trying to get all the final holiday stuff in order when you're almost 9 months preggo is challenging.  I can barely do dinner at night!  How are others feeling?

Doing okay here, def feeling huge! Had a doc apt Tuesday - things are moving, I'm a little over 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. They've been predicting I'll go early, but doc said anytime between now and our due date on the 14th - but glad things are moving. I'm hoping he stays put for at least through Christmas. The nursery is in a shambles, but my cousin is coming tmrw to help me organize and figure out what else we need but don't yet have. So I have to finish painting and putting the pulls on the dressers. I'm very tired this morning and am finding it difficult to get moving.

@vssbrm hope your LO hears you and stays put until after the holidays! Glad you'll get some help to organize the nursery. 

I'm feeling OK. Just very tired, huge and have lots of aches and pains. My sciatica has been acting up and it's no fun. I posted in another thread that I also started feeling inner thigh pain like I did a ton of squats and could barely walk after. I asked my OB yesterday and  he said unfortunately it's just part of pregnancy and I just have to wait it out since I don't have much more to go. We have the nursery pretty much done, just need to decorate it a little bit more. But at least the furniture is all there and put together, I washed all the clothes that's been passed down to me so I feel as ready as I can be.

Hey everyone. Have a doc appt today. 37 weeks. I think it's just another regular appt but who knows. Also my strep test came back negative!! Yay!!

@Tulips29 Did you buy baby detergent? I'm going back and forth about actually getting some, because I read that it really isn't necessary unless your kiddo has sensitive skin.

@dragonfaerie I got two large containers of baby detergeant for my shower. I figured I will use that up and then go to regular. That shit is expensive!

@dragonfaerie I did get baby detergent. So many babies I see develop skin rashes and allergies, I figured why not try the organic detergent at least while he's so little. But then again, that means I have to wash my clothes and sheets in the same detergent if he'll be touching them too, and I doubt I will do that. Guess we'll see how this one works out before I decide to repurchase or not. I got this one, although it's much cheaper on their website directly. It also has an A rating on the EWG site.

Just checking in on all of you. Everyone is getting close! I bought some babyganics detergent but you are right @Drove2u that stuff is expensive. You can use All free and clear as an alternative. Everything going ok here. Completely exhausted but loving being a mom. I don't think I posted a picture of Noah yet. I will have to post one soon. Who has the next due date? I guess that doesn't always predict anything.

Noah is so cute @joyzie77 congrats again!! He's precious!! I'm due January 4. Not sure if I'm next. 
I had my regular appt yesterday and they said since I gained close to 45lbs I now need a growth scan. Is this standard anyway or only if you gained too much? Either way I'm glad I get to see her. I haven't had an ultrasound since 21 weeks.

@Drove2u I gained > 45lbs and my doc never even commented once on my weight gain let alone have a scan for it. I wouldn't be too worried.

Hi ladies! I've been MIA this week. We moved into the house in Tuesday which has been so overwhelming. My parents came to help which has been a lifesaver. Eli is doing really well. I'm exhausted but trying to be good about sleeping or napping when he does. Ladies I can't wait for you to experience this. It's like nothing I've ever felt before.

@drove2u I've gained just under 45lbs, I'm going for an ultrasound on Monday... good luck! My doc has been aware for a while that he might just be a big baby - which runs in my family. My great grandmother who I am build like weighed about 110 lbs and my grandpa was a 10lb babe (he rings in the biggest). My nephew that my SIL just had was also huge - I can't find exactly how big.

@Drove2u I gained about 40 pounds and didn't have a growth scan. Sounds like a few of us gained about the same amount. I'm sure it will be fine... and you get to see your little one.

How is everyone? The last two nights I've really slept poorly so I'm starting to drag... on the plus side,  I've done a ton of Christmas baking and I feel pretty ready for people to be over.  DH gets the whole week between Christmas and New Years off, so he'll be finishing the nursery and we can finally get all settled.
How are everyone's houses and remodels coming?

@dragonfaerie I'm with you on sleeping poorly. I wake up really sore throughout the night with either back or side aches and have a hard time falling back asleep. Sometimes it takes up to 2 hours to fall back asleep so I wake up tired. That's great that your husband gets a week off next week. My company is closed next week also, so tomorrow is supposed to be my last working day. But I know something urgent will come up next week and I'll have to work. I'd love to just focus on finishing up everything for the baby though.
