Hi everyone. Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving. I was perched on the couch wat hung Gilmore Girls while hubby went to Thanksgiving with family and friends for a little bit. He brought me back some food. I have no idea what will happen for Christmas. If I don't deliver by the 20th of December the doctor will induce me. Not sure if it will be C section or not. If the blood pressures are too high while trying I may have to have a c-section. I'm freaking out because that's 3 weeks away!! Being on bed rest has made it hard to get everything done but I'm most worried about the delivery itself. How were all your Thanksgivings? How are you all doing? We are all in the home stretch now!
@Joyzie77 I'm glad you have a date set, though i know it's stressful. hugs! Your docs will take good care of you and baby, just trust your body and them. Thanksgiving was good, the drive to/from Nebraska was not as bad with my MIL as I thought it would be so it was a nice trip. I'm still recovering from the 8hour drive though. We had our photo shoot today, can't wait to get my pictures!

@Joyzie77 - glad you are resting and baby is still good! I watched 3 of the 4 Gilmore Girls episodes this weekend too! The 20th will be here before you know it. Thanksgiving was better than I expected. I've been having contractions pretty much every day but not consistent so I'm getting nervous this little guy is going to get here before his due date. I'm terrified he is going to come between the 7th & the 10th right when we are in the middle of moving. If he can just hold out until after that I'll be good to go.

@Griffin5413 hopefully the lil guy will stay in for a bit. Our renovations aren't done yet and I hope they get done before baby comes. What do the contractions feel like? Sometimes I get tightness but am not sure if it's contractions.
Hi ladies, hope you're all doing well and have a great holiday weekend! We stayed local and had 2 thanksgiving dinners. I've been wanting to do maternity pictures but haven't gotten around to them. I'm hoping my friend will agree to do them who is learning photography. But we're late in the game so there's a chance we won't get them done at all. Worst case scenario I'll just take some pics with my phone and add some pretty filters haha.
@dragonfaerie I'm glad your drive was good with the MIL. I'd love to see your pictures as well!
@Joyzie77 the 20th will be here before you know it! I also don't know what contractions feel like. I've gotten mild cramp like sensations but since it's been less than a handful of them, I kinda brushed them off.

@Joyzie77 - I'm still trying to really figure out the difference between BH & regular. For me the main difference has been BH seem to be localized in one area or another where it's more just a tightness that I feel. I haven't had many regular but they are more my entire belly tightening. I would imagine most of what I felt was BH with just a few regular ones thrown in there.

The last two days I've had more random cramping around my stomach, but I don't know how much is BH and how much is overdoing it on the cleaning and going up and down the stairs. I have an appointment on Thursday and will mention it. I'm not worried, but I wish I could know for sure what us going on. lol

hi everyone! @Joyzie77 glad you're hanging in there -- good to have date set that you will get induced by :-) I hope the delivery goes ok, but even if you have a c-section things will be fine too.
Nice to hear everyone's Thanksgiving stories. My In-laws live 45 minutes away so we just drove to their house and had a small dinner with 7 of us. I made two dishes so it wasn't too much work at all! Other than that DH spent most of the weekend getting the final rearrangements in our house for the LOs room (which was previously an office). Oh and I finally finished my hospital bag! :-)
I've been having BH contractions on/off for the past week or two. I talked to my OB about it last week because for me, I wasn't feeling a tightening in the abdomen so much as I was feeling menstrual cramps. She said that BH can also feel like menstrual cramps and as long as they were not constant and went away after some time, then its nothing to worry about. So for me. about once or twice a day, I have feeling like I'm getting my period but it only lasts for 5-10 minutes then goes away. The cramping is not super painful, but not fun either.
Is anyone due before @Joyzie77 December 20th due date? It will be fun to hear from everyone once they go into/after labor!

vssbrm - no we are not in the house yet. We were supposed to have our final walkthrough yesterday but the house is nowhere near done. We are supposed to get our keys on Wednesday and they are assuring us everything is going to be complete but I have some serious doubts. As of yesterday there still wasn't even 1 bathroom finished. No toilets, showers, faucets, no tub in the master bath. There is so much left to be done! I'm just trying to not let the stress get to me. There's really nothing I can do at this point. This little guy could come at any time... just hoping its not next week. lol

@griffin5413 well it's not an entire house but we haven't started the nursery yet and need new walls, ceiling, floors, paint etc. and only five weeks to go. Plus my husband is doing it all himself. Also getting a bit stressed. On a good note, went to docs today for 35 week appt. my bp is good, and baby heartbeat is good. She's head down still too. All good news at today's appt. just hoping it continues!
Drove2u - I feel your pain for sure. I pretty much feel like I am not in control of anything going on in my life right now. lol... Glad your appt went well! It's crazy how close we are all getting.

@vssbrm and @Griffin5413 it's definitely stressful when your house isn't complete. We are still living upstairs and our remodel won't be done for a few weeks. I guess you just have to take it in stride. I've actually been admitted again to the hospital for my blood pressure and protein in the urine. I'm here for at least 24 hours. @Drove2u I'm glad baby is doing well!
House renovations are no fun when you're on a time crunch. all of our baby stuff is taking up the sunroom. So hoping to set up the bassinet and a book case this weekend. We're also going to a wedding and have other things going on. So much to do and no time!
@Drove2u it will all work out. You've got all the important things you need. I hear ya though. I wanted everything to turn out a specific way and never anticipated bed rest, can't wait to hear about these LO's when they are born. We are so close and have come a long way!
I'm kind of glad I'm not the only one in the middle of home renovations and similar situation @Griffin5413@Joyzie77@Drove2u@vssbrm. I can sympathize. We had french doors put in to replace a sliding glass door, which led to finding rotting wood under the deck. My dh was able to get the deck fixed through insurance luckily. Any day now, we're getting a new roof. Those are the simple projects. The big one is our master bathroom remodeling. It is completely torn out. The project has taken over the entire house. I'm sleeping downstairs on the couch since it's most comfortable and dh is on a mattress in the baby's room. We covered up all of our bedroom furniture to protect it. Tools and supplies are everywhere. We had a big mishap with the first plumber who was working on the job and actually created damage. It delayed a lot of the work. I told my dh that if more work needs to be done when the baby comes, the construction needs to be on hold for a bit. I'll be having a C-section mid January. When I had surgery (myomectomy) a couple years ago, I was driving after 2 weeks. I told him that the construction doesn't continue until I'm driving again. At that point, I might have to stay at my parents' with the baby while my dh is monitoring the construction. He would be at my parents' house at night if I am staying there with the baby. Although my parents don't like to see us living like this, they are completely willing to have the baby and me there.
There's almost too much craziness to let myself get worked up over it now. I'm not happy with the situation since dh kind of decided to move ahead with this project even though I wasn't fully for it due to the timing. I've been in charge of the most of the baby stuff, except dh will eventually be redoing the closet so we can hang up clothes in there. We have the crib, dresser, stroller/car seat, pack n play, and swing, so we have a lot of stuff to start using off. I'm just trying to fill in the missing necessities now. I've made a lot of major decisions lately I was stressing about, so that part is moving along at least.
I love all the attention I'm getting at my job and the funny questions the students ask me. So all the chaos is balanced with some happy times. The chaos will only get worse when the baby comes and I'm recovering from a C-section, but I hope some day I'll be able to look back at everything and laugh about it. Right now, I'm just tolerating the situation.
I'm sorry that so many of you are going through house stresses. sending hugs and prayers for peace of mind and fast, efficient workers who get stuff done.

So I just had my prenatal lactation in home consult and I learned so so much!!! So glad I found this lady. She's going to come over 5 times once the baby is home and help with breastfeeding.
For all you ladies going through home reno projects, I hope everything settles down just in time for your LO's arrivals!
Today is my last day working from the office and now I get to work from home for the next few weeks. I can't believe how fast time is flying! We're now a month away from meeting our little man.

Yay @tulips29 I'm working from home now too until labor. It's sooo nice! We just set up the bassinet. It's adorable. It comes with a mobile and some baskets. It's perfect! But I'm a bit confused. Lol. Which i will post this question separately too. The bassinet came with a mattress pad but i also have a separate mattress for it. So do I just need the mattress that came with it, use the one I bought or use both in case there's a pee accident?
@Drove2u it will definitely be nice not to commute for over an hour each way!
The bassinet we got comes with its own mattress pad. It's thin and oddly shaped so I don't know if I can get a cover for it in case of accidents. We are getting a mattress cover for the crib mattress so maybe you can do the same for your bassinet if the mattress is a normal shape? Otherwise I'm not sure and now you made me think of this too. I thought of the crib but not bassinet accidents lol. Oops! Let me know what you come up with.

@tulips29 well I decided to use the mattress it comes with and return the extra one. It says not to use other mattresses and not to double up because it could cause SIDS. It's a waterproof mattress so I figured I could wipe it and air dry when needed.
@Griffin5413 I hope your contractors start busting their butts to get your house done!!
@Tulips29 yay for being done with work!! Let the serious nesting begin!
@Drove2u that's nice that they come to your home for that. I had to register for a class at the hospital to get any info prior to Lumpy being born.
@LynnNJ your right, we just have to go with the flow with these home renovations. We stayed with my parents during ours, we are moving home today, my parents are sad. My dad found the one good thing about us moving home - is ketchup won't be cold any more - my husband believes in refrigerating the ketchup, my family does not.

I posted this on 3rd trimester board but figured I'd put it here too... as of yesterday, I am 2cm dilated and 70% effaced which means this little guy is probably going to be here before the 28th.

Me 35, DH 36 (Unexplained Infertility, possible PCOS) TTC for 3.5 years.

The bassinet we got comes with its own mattress pad. It's thin and oddly shaped so I don't know if I can get a cover for it in case of accidents. We are getting a mattress cover for the crib mattress so maybe you can do the same for your bassinet if the mattress is a normal shape? Otherwise I'm not sure and now you made me think of this too. I thought of the crib but not bassinet accidents lol. Oops! Let me know what you come up with.

@dragonfaerie love the pics! And your hair cut, I keep threstening to cut mine short again.

I posted this on 3rd trimester board but figured I'd put it here too... as of yesterday, I am 2cm dilated and 70% effaced which means this little guy is probably going to be here before the 28th. Dr said yesterday I really need to aware if my contractions become more regular and get to the hospital if they do b/c he could come any day. Praying he stays in there through the move this weekend!
