Question is... do I continue to use the one I know is not long enough? How bad is this for their hips? She can straighten her legs, but beyond that there is no room..
If I had something I knew would reliably safely bring magical sleep to my baby and solve all my world's problems like that I would schedule a tailor to fix it ASAP in the morning. That way while you are in between sizes you can have a good/proper fit in the in between time.
LO is 2.5 weeks and suddenly has one goopy eye. The junk coming out of it is white/yellow-ish and seems to pool around the inner corner. It's a lot though, like back within minutes after I wipe with damp cloth. I'm going to call the doc tomorrow but I suspect a tear duct issue but what else could it be? @ayeshaohara are there typically meds used for this or just massaging tear duct?
Definitely a blocked tear duct. No meds. Just massage and warm compress regularly. Massage from the inner corner upwards towards the eyebrow and across as it's usually the top tear duct that's blocked. My LO has one side that is still a little blocked. I just clear the junk out regularly during the day. They generally clear up with time anyway

@lionstigersbears that's pretty common. Just do the same thing. I find ours came and went. One day it was one eye, then both then none. This parenting thing is tough!
Anyone else's LO doing this? In case you aren't sure what you are looking at, this is Lucine laying sideways all the way at the foot end of her bassinet. I have caught her laying on her side with her face almost on the side fabric. It's breathable at least, but I still don't feel comfortable with it. Should I be moving her to the big crib now? I still have to buy a mattress for it.

Indeed. Health related stuff totally throws me off!
@Kurrant We'll wake up and find our LO has traveled to the bottom of the bassinet. Her feet are propped up on the end, she's so scrunched. When I watch her during naps on the monitor, she will kick her legs so much. That's what's causing her to move. We talked that maybe she's getting too big for the bassinet, but she wakes herself up in the crib with all the kicking because there's endless space. We're not sure what to do either.
@Kurrant@missnc77 my LO does that in the crib. Turns on her side. Ends up sideways. They're just movers!
My son always had his head shoved into the corner of the pack & play in the middle of the night and I thought it meant he was crowded also... Except now he's 2.5 and he still does that in his crib every night. I guess he just likes that feeling.
We co bed but Ezra always ends up moving so much DH and I end up in the corner of the bed and he's smack in the middle. My mom says I used to do that too

Babies tend to like their feet squished up, or their heads apparently @Bellodomani ! We have the dock a tot and they recommend to have baby close to the bottom of it for this reason so their feet touch the bumper thing.

Mine too! It's a huge reason why I'm scared to move him to a bed, he loves snuggling up in the corners. And sleeps 10-11 hours straight. Mommy likes her sleep.

Interesting! I may place her closer to the bottom of the crib rather than the top for her nap late this afternoon and see if she sleeps any better.
@Bltbear82 Me too!! He's 2.5 and he sleeps from 7-7 every night and naps from 1-4 every day and I just know that as soon as he moves into a bed it'll be all over. He climbed out once at 18 months, and once at 24 months, but both times he was really scared and hasn't tried again in like 8 months so I'm letting it ride until we're settled back east and then I'll tackle it.

DD1 sleeps that much and moving her to a bed didn't change it. She still likes her sleep! Our only issue has been her going to sleep. If she's not tired she'll try to be sneaky and play in her room.
@JessicaB0627 That gives me hope! He's just a super active kid, and I kind of figured being confined was the only thing making him sleep... But he has always slept well above the average number of hours for his age, so maybe it won't be a total wash? I sure hope so.
Tips for a constipated baby? We normally get two or three poop diapers a day but only getting one a day the last few days. None so far today. Not sure that's the problem (she's sooooo fussy!!) but good to have some tips to help her at my disposal if that's the issues

What consistency are the poops? My baby went from 8-12 smaller poops a day to one HUGE poop and a couple smaller ones. I asked the pediatrician and she said that that is normal and that as long as the consistency is the same as before, it means the baby isn't constipated- just moving on to a new digestive routine.
Do you give your baby probiotics? Mine takes BioGaia for a few days every few weeks. Not sure if it helps but he's never had constipation.
Anyone have tips to make baby drink slower? LO can down 3oz of expressed milk in a few minutes. She rarely spits it up and burps well, but I still think this can't be good. She does get hiccups often. I try pulling the nipple out of her mouth regularly to give her a break (DH doesn't do this). We are using Lansinoh slow flow nipples.

You could switch to a preemie nipple, and/or do paced feeding: beyond pausing for breaths and burps frequently, position her sitting up with the nipple running more horizontally to her mouth rather than pointed down into her mouth. She'll need to suck more rather than only swallow which will slow her down a bit as well as strengthen her tongue which will help when solids are introduced later.
Pollie is mainly breastfed with the exception of a couple bottles pumped milk a week and occasionally formula as well. Her past few poop's have been green instead of yellow. She had more formula the past few days than she has in while, hadn't had any in about a week and then had maybe four ounces this week. Any chance that may have caused it? She sees her pedi next week so I'll ask then but wanted to throw it out there before

I use formula with my LO and his poop is dark green/brownish. When I used to BF him they were more yellow in color, so I'm assuming the formula does turn them more of a greenish color.
More poop questions! Jet is EBF and almost 6 weeks old, and while she was regularly pooping at least once a day, she has now not gone for three days. The time before this it was two days. When she did go it was the usual stuff (just a ton of it). Headed to the doc tomorrow, but wondering if anyone else has a LO that is doing something similar.

Mind has pretty much been this way since day 1. Would go 7 days. Then 3-4. Now at 7 weeks we are once anywhere between every 2-3 days. Ped said as long as consistency and color aren't changing, all is normal for EBF babies.
I woke up to pump and saw LO just chillen in your crib looking off into space (as usual). I went and picked her up because it was her usual time to be changed and eat and noticed in her crib she had spit up a little bit. Well it wasn't just white milk spit up, it had brown specks in it and smells pretty foul. I took her temp and she's perfectly fine. She was smiling as usual and nursed liked normal as well. Any ideas or is this normal??

Sounds like vomit rather than spit up! Stomach contents don't exactly smell great. I wouldn't be worried if she's fine

From experience I can tell you our doctor didnt do anything until DS got to 10 days! Unless baby it very distressed and they are concerned about an intestinal twist. Prior to that they said we could put prune juice or karo syrup in a syringe and give it to him but that didn't help. They ended up doing a glycerin suppository and it got things moving again.
My baby had jaundice but was cleared a week after birth. At his 1 month appointment, I noticed his eyes and face were still a little yellow so I asked the pedi. She thought it was just because he's BF and some properties of the breast milk make them stay yellow for a while.
They decided to take his blood to check his liver functions just to be sure. Everything came back fine. They told us just to give him straight formula for 48 hrs then go back to breast milk and the yellowiness should clear up.
At the time, we didn't want to do it. Just in case the formula messed with his tummy. He hasn't had formula since he was cleared from jaundice when we supplemented. We figured it would eventually clear on its own and that he can't stay yellow forever. Well, he's almost 2 months and the boy is still yellow.
Should we do the 48 hrs of formula or just keep doing breast milk since it's not hurting anything? I want to do the formula but are there any risks for tummy issues? Anyone go from BM to Formula then back no problem?
I know it's completely aesthetic for me to want him to stop having yellow eyes but he kinda has the Bart Simpson look going on...
I know some have eliminated dairy from their diet, but is anyone avoiding gassy foods to make their milk less gassy? LO had some epic grown man farts during the night that were really upsetting him. Usually once we are past the witching hour he does not fuss at night. I think chili for dinner was the culprit. DH and I were fine but should I avoid beans on babies behalf? Never knew gas would be so tragically painful for him!!
7 weeks and LO will not nap longer than 30 min and is a fussy mess - lord help me get through today....!
Having the same day and finally just took off my shirt, took of LOs shirt and laid him on top of me in bed. Apparently this is the only way he will rest and I'll take what I can get.

I might have to try the same because even the dog is going into different rooms to escape the little gremlins screams! Mama just wanted to eat in peace for 10 min!!!
Anyone have any magic for helping keep a pacifier in? We use Avent Soothies, but of course if it drops out she gets upset. Obviously if we're holding her we just keep it there ourselves, but if she's in the RnP sometimes I'm able to help position her hands so she can kind of hold it in herself... not often enough though sadly.

Maybe try another brand? My baby can only keep pacifiers in if they have the sort of bend at the tip style, we've been using the natursutten brand because someone gave us a 2 pack but if we lose both of them she's gonna have to adapt to a different brand because I refuse to pay $9 for a pacifier.

The wubbanub uses the soothies and I think the stuffed animals helps hold the pacifier in. We used them with my first and she loved them. She really was able to figure out quickly how to get the pacifier in her mouth. Of course this one only likes mam pacifiers which are so tiny and fall our constantly so I understand your struggle.
