@rakel88 I never thought of that! I'll give it a shot.

@TM14 Taking the Tylenol with caffeine can help too, my doc recommends it for my frequent headaches. And if that doesn't work, and the water doesn't help then go to bed and try to sleep it off
  • @YeezusButters yes!! My stomach will growl and I will question my boobs only to realize how crazy far up my stomach is no wonder the acid is so bad!

@Weville caffeine usually helps keep my migraines away! But lately it hasn't done much. I'm hoping a good sleep will help too

    @TM14 Good luck!
  • Anybody else experiencing dryness downstairs.... Not even just when it comes to sex, all the time. Can I put anything lotion, oil, etc. without giving myself a uti/yeast infection.
  • @onesassybishh - got a sample of a product called Replens with a quarterly mailing of free samples I signed up a while back. I tried it before pregnant and it wasn't bad. I'd consult the gyno even though it is gyno recommended.

I have the opposite of downstairs dryness. Especially after a shower I am questioning, did I pee myself?

Also the past two days I have been really crampy in the morning. Yesterday it was accompanied by nausea. I am thinking I'm dehydrated from not drinking water at night (because I attempting to sleep)because by mid afternoon the cramping is gone.

TM14 "Take it easy" three words I hate to hear coming from medical providers about headaches/migraines!!! Anyway I agree with what others said - hydration, electrolytes, maintaining sleep and activity levels stable (enough but not too much), and also for me a big one is staying from screens for extended periods of time... I hope it goes away soon!
  • It used to be tossing and turning every night to get an hour of sleep before needing a new position, now I swear I wake up in the exact same position I laid down in...and everything hurts from the stiffness. Either way...not fun.
  • @shaylalr I'll have to ask my OB about that, but I use coconut oil for my skin all the time.  @onesassybishh My OB recommended a water based lubricant.

This past week I have been having the worst hip pain especially towards the end of the day.  It's gotten to where I have to sit on a semi firm pillow with a mountain of pillows behind me to sleep.

  • Today it seems like the first tri nausea has come back to haunt me. Hopefully it doesn't stick around too long! I'm also starting to question every single little cramp or pain I get-is it nothing, or a contraction?? Since I don't really have an idea of what to expect, I feel like I'm overanalyzing everything.
  • @schaze My mantra is "don't worry until you know you have to worry."

I got induced with my first so I never had the "omg is this it??" moment, so I get how it's easy to get excited/anxious/worried over little twinges. Just trust that when it's time, there will be undeniable red flags for you and you won't be left guessing.

  • underwire bras are nearly unbearable. All the rib aches. Currently have a little tiny foot jammed up underneath one side, yay!

This might go better in randoms, but I know we have some earthy (or crunchy, or whatever the newest term is) mamas here - is anyone drinking raspberry leaf tea?
  • Okay so I know it's supposed to be "normal", but yesterday my boobs started leaking (mostly my left one) and kept going all night. Also yesterday and today I've had soooo much pressure down south. Like literally pushing against my cervix. I haven't experienced and BH contractions though. This doesn't seem like a good thing for just 31 weeks along.
  • I believe I have finally experienced what is known as "lightning crotch" or whatever it is called. Apparently my little ones idea of fun in my belly today is kicking straight down and making me jump. Its not too annoying now that I am up and at work, but waking up at 3:30 this morning to go to the bathroom and then being kicked for a couple hours is no fun.
  • @onesassybishh I've been using coconut oil too.

  • @erin7264 I'm on the raspberry leaf tea bandwagon. I don't drink as much as they recommend because I'm not a huge tea drinker but I at least get one cup a day. I figure it can't hurt. Also, six dates a day is supposed to help with uterus strength so I've added those to my breakfast.

  • @erin7264 I talked to my midwife about RRL tea on Tuesday. She said it can help, but it will likely cause more Braxton Hicks, which are toning the uterus anyway. I'm having a ton of BH, so I think I'm going to pass simply because I feel like more of them will drive me crazy. She recommended, if I decide to do it, the last 2-5 weeks should be sufficient.
  • @joleri23 I am going to try to replace some of my daily coffee intake with it. My mom grew up in the south and when I was a kid we ALWAYS had a pitcher of tea in the fridge, so I brewed up a batch to keep in the fridge to drink iced. Unsweetened tea is really not my thing, so I added some honey while it was steeping to take the edge off. I did make it slightly weaker than suggested - which was one tea bag per cup of water, but I've only got gallon pitchers and only had 16 tea bags.

@SparkySunshine I did read that about BH. I have them fairly regularly as it is, so I'm keeping any eye on whether or not they increase (and if they do, I'll decrease my intake). I'm just happy to have something that isn't plain water to suck on, that isn't caffeinated and might actually be beneficial! I'll be switching to bulk RRL in the future as it is WAY cheaper, $11/lb compared to $6 for 16 tiny teabags.
  • @kellz14 As soon as I wrote that I got a massive craving for dates!

I've never had a date and am wondering if they're worth trying. Can anyone compare them to something else?
  • @erin7264 I was wondering if it was good iced! It's way too hot out for me to drink a cup of anything hot every day.

I've read 6 dates/day are helpful, but I wasn't going to start that until the last month. So, June 1 for me.

  • ....What do dates and this tea do? I missed something.
  • I don't like dates on their own, but chop those suckers up and use them as a sweetening alternative (in Sloppy Joe's, Chili, etc.) and I'm on board. I've also made a killer Paleo dark chocolate pudding with them, and now I think it's time to get back to that.

I've had the same pressure down south the last couple of days. Super uncomfortable. From what I heard it's very normal in third trimester. Especially as the baby gets into birthing position. Today on my "daily update" it says that baby will start moving down into the birth canal to start prepping for labor. I'm almost 30 weeks. I'm not worried especially since she's still moving and kicking just the same but maybe call your doc of it's something that you are worried about. :)

It tastes pretty similar to regular black tea, although it does have a slightly different flavor than, say, Liptons. I'm not sure if I've ever had a date, are they something usually found at a standard grocery store?

@theshannondee it's (red) raspberry leaf tea. If you're not into herbal/alternative stuff it may be too crunchy, but it is supposed to help balance the hormones and tone the uterine muscles, potentially making for an easier/faster pushing stage of labor in pregnant women. It can also assist with milk production levels postpartum. There are other benefits, it's high in certain vitamins but my brain fog is clouding my memory!
  • Everytime me and DH have the sex I get an insane leg cramp in my right leg. WTF?

They taste like magic - IMO  They're chewy and kind of have a caramel/honey taste to them.  They look like giant raisins, basically, but they are much meatier.
  • the post office was screwing me over on delivering a package so when i saw the mailman pull up at my job I ran outside to meet him.  that was 30 minutes ago.  I still can't cant catch my breath.

I'm just impressed that you ran. Fast waddle is my top speed right now, and only in short bursts.

Also... bacon wrapped dates are a magical thing.
  • I think I feel worse after wearing tennis shoes all day yesterday. Thought the extra support would help but dang the pelvic pain is so very real. Back to my good ol flip flops today

  • That was my thought as well, @PootsDragon. Might as well do what I can and if it helps, great. If not I'm still hydrating and exercising and I didn't waste anything.
