Week of 4/25 Randoms

Re: Week of 4/25 Randoms

  • @pandaferh @jennyleigh16 I dealt with it yesterday morning once I was feeling a little more levelheaded. I'll be 30 weeks tomorrow and up to this incident everyone on both sides had been respectful of my wishes to keep all things baby off of social media. Just frustrating. I have an ultrasound on Tuesday to check baby's growth because my fundus has been measuring small...needless to say MIL will not be receiving any pictures from the appt.

Random for today: I played hooky from work. I'd normally never do this, but I've felt completely drained all around this week and you know, pregnant, so I'm letting myself take a mental health day. It's pushing 1pm and the dogs & I haven't made it out of bed yet. NO RAGRETS.

My shower has literally worn me out. I am too tired to even stand up straight.

  • I'm still giggling about the "nicest" BMB on TB being split in half over name calling on another social media site. It's perfection.
    Wait, what?
^ I just happened to be lurking in June this morning, and found lots of interesting replies to this situation
  • I love the insults the friendliest BMB threw out I'm waiting for something good to use them!

And I thought this morning would be boring!
  • I just lurked in June and I couldn't find anything...
  • I feel like my dog hates me :( She has to keep it easy for the next week, no running, playing ect. Which is a lot easier said then done she's a 3 month old puppy who runs everywhere and all she does is play. So in order to make sure she takes it easy she spends most of her day in the kennel. I let her out a little longer each day and I always make sure my other dog is somewhere else so she doesn't get tempted to try and play but still, it's so pitiful! I hate that she has to be in her kennel but I don't know what else to do to make sure she's resting.
  • @sboston06 good for you guys! Tons of babies live perfectly fine in apartments. I hope the spring cleaning has made you feel reassured by that. And with the way the world works now that you're "okay" and settled with staying, you will probably find a perfect house! Haha And yay for surprise money!
  • How soon is everyone washing baby clothes/blankets? I'm 27 weeks and wanting to, but wondering if they'll get musty/dusty in the dresser. I carried DD to almost 42 weeks btw.

I'm doing it now as I get/purchase them.  I hate doing laundry. period. And I figure as long as the nursery has good ventilation - and I go in there a lot putzing around - I don't need to worry. (i'm 27+ 4 too)

@ButterMyBiscuit Shiner makes a prickly pear beer that's really good! Add that to your list for sure :)
  • @whataboutscience I was going to start washing stuff after our shower next week. I'll be 32 weeks. I'm probably only going to wash the blankets, newborn, and 0-3 stuff. That way we can see when he fits into the 3-6 and I'll be able to return things if I need to.

  • @whataboutscience  I've also been washing things each week. I'm sure I'll wash the main things again as we get closer

  • I've washed what I have so far, and will wash what I get from my shower after that. My work shower is May 12 and my family shower isn't until June 5, so i have gaps between when things will get washed or possibly exchanged if we have too much of a certain size and not enough of another.
  • @whataboutscience FTM so I know nothing. I have been washing them as I go and then putting them into drawers. I hope they'll be okay?
  • I will wash the newborn stuff, but babies in our family are pretty small even at full-term. By the time my son was able to wear 3-month clothes, he was about 6 months old, and I had to re-wash it all anyway.
  • I need to complain/vent on something not at all major or important.

I have been on pelvic rest since beginning of February because of a hematoma and possible placenta previa/low lying placenta. Of course, this means Ive wanted nothing but sex since then. I haven't had any bleeding since. So I was told that they would check how things were at my 30 wk u/s. Went last week and everything was clear and definitely no placenta previa. But I was told to stay on pelvic rest until at least 36 weeks. Whyyyyyy????  :s
  • @ButterMyBiscuit at least you're gifing comedy into it. All of my weekend give a fucks have run out and those posts make me ragey. @PleaseSendPicklesNow thank you for being so nice, I do not have it in me today !

That seems silly, what was their reasoning? (Besides, we're just covering our asses?)
  • @PinkLady2015 I didn't get a very clear answer but I'm guessing it's just to cover their asses. I'm gonna ask the dr when I go in a week and a half and see if I can't convince them to just clear me
  • Yea that just seems overboard and without consideration for you
  • I agree with @PinkLady2015 that seems so weird they would keep you on it @Schmooie730yet everything seems to have cleared up. Sorry you are going through this it has to be frustrating and annoying !

also I just can't with these randoms and I'm guessing trolls

  • My hubby doesn't really need me at the car lot much so I got a job 1-2 nights a week as a host at a restaurant so I wasn't bored sitting at home. I've been there about a month and I like it, especially since after a few weeks there we decided it would be best if I had a chair up there so I have a place to sit in between sitting tables. Well today I got chair taken away because my managers boss was "offended" that I was siting down. Ummm exuse me? I'm 31 weeks pregnant, I have the WORST pelvic pain when I walk, I get shooting pain in my hips and my legs kill after every shift. I obviously look pregnant and most customers say something when I seat them so it's not like I'm being lazy.

These have to be trolls. There are too many of them not to be.

@Schmooie730 that is some bullshit. I'd definitely get a second opinion. I've been on pelvic rest since February and if they tell me next week that my placenta has moved but I'm not allowed to have sex I will lose my damn mind. Nobody will escape that room without me cursing at them. I need to get laid.

ETA: @Shelby00519 that is ridiculous! Can you plead your case?!

  • @Shelby00519 that's some major BS! What is wrong with sitting when you aren't working. Ugh sorry!

Tell him you'll have your attorney look into this... And call HR
  • So the weight loss portion of this article is clearly not applicable to us, but the points it makes about fruit portions and how easy it can be to over do it was really interesting and relevant to a lot of conversations we've had over the months. It's a decent read!

Yeah, that will pretty much be me at my next appointment. My husband is kind of making fun of me and my reaction to the news lol.
