Does anyone else have pain/pressure that seems to be on your urethra? Like pain you would get when you pee with a UTI, but it hurts just from standing up? I've been checked for a UTI and I don't have one, but ouch!
Yes yes yes . I have been waiting for someone else to mention this ... But exactly what you described I have been feeling all weekend . It's been rough !
@doozer1345 Glad I'm not alone! It's been off and on for me lately. Hopefully more off than on the next few weeks, because OW!

Yes! Whenever I stand up too quickly! I was told that's the round ligament pain
I went to the doc on Friday for my 34 week appt and was sent to the hospital for high blood pressure. When I was first at the hospital it was still pretty high and I was having contractions... but then it went down and I stopped contracting and they sent me home and said everything's good. So now I can be worried and totally freaked for the next 6 weeks LOL yayyyy ;-)
I think I might boycott walking until this baby comes. i mean, I know I know, walking is good, gotta walk on curbs to get the baby out of sunny side up position, dog needs to be walked, but it feels like every time I walk I can feel my hips moving further and further away from each other.
So.. I noticed a patch of stretch marks on my right thigh/hip area (odd place, but okay..) that was a few weeks ago... this morning I woke up and have these purple, stretch marky looking things on the insides of both thighs very high up... they are frightening not sure if they're actually stretch marks or more like varicose veins but regardless, I hope they go away! or at least fade. They're very visible and purple..... sigh.... -_-
I know it's more normal towards the end for LO's activity to decrease, but I'm confused on the counting my DR gave me as to what is normal.... She said 10 kicks/hour, but not necessarily every hour. Am I just not getting it, or is that not confusing to others as well?
Also, having a hard time figuring out what I should count as a 'kick'....before they were very distinguished, now it seems every movement I feel is more of me tightening, or baby just moving/shifting rather than an actual kick...
Argh, I wish all this at the end was just a clear-cut yes or no answer, instead of all this guessing game nonsense!

I think any movement counts as a kick. My understanding of when to be worried about lack of movement is 2 hours. If they're quiet for an hour that's ok, but a second hour would be cause for concern.

My doctor said that any movements count, as long as there are ten in an hour, and that I check at roughly the same time every day (I usually do around 2pm). If I don't get that ten, I'm supposed to eat something and drink some cold water, then lay back down on my left side and try again. If I still don't get ten movements, then I'm supposed to call in.
Also, FYI: the closer we get to our due dates, the less room that baby has to kick, which is probably why you're feeling more general movements/shifting around than anything else. I'm at the same stage right now.
You might want to call your OB to get some specific clarification on your questions, though, in case she has different preferences than mine or any of the rest of ours has.
My OB has never asked me to do an official count. She asks whether I feel movement generally, but doesn't go into more details than that. All the OBs I've seen in the practice have been the same. So really, I wouldn't worry about this too much, unless you go for very long periods not feeling a thing. And definitely by now baby has much less space to move, so it's normal to feel shifting more than kicking.
Think I started to have some BH today because I started feeling winded while sitting. Still can't say exactly how long they last since my belly just feels harder than normal if I feel around. Then I felt the same tightness but also some nausea at the same time. really confused at what's happening internally.
DD and I have managed to get bad colds - I feel horrible. I can't believe I made it this far without getting sick but I'm thankful it's nothing worse. She has made a turn for the better so I'm happy about that!
All the remedy lists while pregnant start off with "get plenty of rest". BAAHAHAHA. do they know I'm really pregnant and sleep isn't a thing anymore? Anyway, I'm drinking some honey lemon tea for the sore throat and trying to keep up on water but I just don't want any water. Blah.

I feel for you! With all of the drug companies out there you'd think they could make some good cold meds for pregnant women.
My symptoms have been: Back aches I can't do any position too long cause I have a slipped disk on my sciatic nerve and baby's weight makes it rough in any position for too long, I have on and off heartburn, swollen legs/ankles and feet, aches al over my belly and crotch area. BH have increased and sometimes have pain. I've also experienced and increase in discharge and sleeping is becoming a luxury lately. Also for the first t I cried for the silliest reason saw a picture of a newborn on mom's cheat and thought of the moment I will get to see our baby girl and just started to cry I am so excited and ready.

I hope you feel better soon! But I'm also jealous that this is the FIRST time you've been sick while pregnant .
I'm getting so tired of getting BH, they are to the point where they are strong enough to be painful and I actually have to stop and just breathe for a minute. I'm probably getting 15 or so just during the day. It used to be just after I started moving after sitting for a while but now they come at anytime.
And of course this is in top of constant hip/back pain and being completely out of breath after walking for 20 feet

Haha if it makes you feel any better I had bronchitis twice during my last pregnancy, which I had never had in my life. Once was at 37 weeks and it was terrible. I'll take the cold any day!
I don't do kick counts because (besides the fact that no one told me to) I spent the past 20 or so weeks just getting to know my babies rhythms, and I know he isn't very active during the day. I feel like it's more important to just know your baby than to stick to a specific number of times they need to move. i also can move him by pushing down on part of my belly and that'll get him to readjust (if I start getting worried)
Totally got freaked out that my water might have broken yesterday. I had literally *just* gone to the bathroom before I started cooking dinner with my son, and I was kneading dough when I suddenly felt like I was discharging but like.... A lot.... And it was thin enough to be pee but it definitely didn't smell or look like pee. I started getting crampy after words but I wouldn't say they were contractions for sure, either. I don't even know what to expect because I was in labor at the hospital for hours before my water broke, during my last pregnancy. It broke on the bed and I hardly even knew it. So idk. I didn't wanna take a trip to the hospital because i figured I would be contracting more and harder if it were labor. But I was definitely freaking out, because I don't usually pee myself.
The back pains are real though. I will certainly not miss those when this is done.
A jug of warm water and a lovely smelling shower gel inside is the way to go, not only do you feel fresh as a daisy afterwards but it stops any odours(and ladies u get to rinse down said butt crack too). Oh and make sure to have a small hand towel afterward for drying. Since I've been cleaning myself this way I haven't experienced thrush in years, plus if you do have a yeast problem wet wipes can make it worse and they have always caused me problems, like stinging. But u can substitute the shower gel for a feminine wash.
I'm not sure why anyone would think this is a good idea! The bottles even say for EXTERNAL use only.. I just cringed reading this post, sorry.

This is probably a silly question- I'm having cramps in my lower back about 2-3 times a day and they feel EXACTLY like menstrual cramps, except for at least one of them it pulls all my focus (during one I was teaching and I had to stop teaching to sit down and focus on relaxing). i asked my midwife and she said it could be the start of labor (and the placement makes her think I could be doing back labor). Now that I'm seeing other mamas start having their babies at 37 weeks (I'm 36+1) I'm wondering if I'm starting labor. any other STM's start labor like this?
@jomunson This may be one of those times when everyone is different (so always call your midwife if you have any doubt), but I have had this feeling off and on over the past few days along with a sharp increase in BH; last time I had this for a couple weeks before my water broke. My doctor said that it was a form of false labor. I'm also between 36 and 37 w (36+5 today).
@kbrands7 thanks! I know part of it is my FTMness coming into play. I don't know WHAT it's gunna feel like when things start so every twinge at this point I'm like "was that it!?"
@JoMunson I've been having menstrual like cramps for a couple weeks now. I think it coincides with LO dropping lower into my pelvis. Generally, labor pains will increase in intensity in addition to getting closer together. You're far enough along to be experiencing false labor too. So your body is getting ready for the real thing but not actually making any progress. So as long as they remain somewhat sporadic and aren't getting worse, then you shouldn't have to worry about anything. Always call your doctor if you're concerned though!
S/O kick counts.....at my appointments my OB just asks if movement is still good and that's it. She says I only need to do kick counts if I haven't felt her in awhile....to drink something cold, lay down, and feel for at least 10 movement/kicks within an hour. If not I am to call in right away.
My uterus is acting up yesterday and today. It's rock hard almost all of the time. It doesn't come and go like Braxton hicks - it's so hard I can't even make a small indention when I press on it. I had this last pregnancy right before it was discovered I had polyhydraminos so I guess I need to call the doctor. My fluid levels were checked last week and they were still OK but it came on about this time last pregnancy.
Has anyone experienced feeling AND hearing a 'pop' noise? This happened just awhile ago while sitting at my desk.. it was very odd and scared me as I sat still waiting for water -- but nothing. Just hearing and feeling the popping noise. I called the OB nurse on call and she was very surprised this happened but no water. So I'm not quite sure what to think now. She told me to call back and head to L&D if I experience leakage or the obvious gush of water. I have felt baby move since and my stomach even got very hard for a period of time but no pain.
@txmamatobe this afternoon my stomach has also been rock hard for periods of time but without any pain. I am a FTM so not sure what to make of it.
@kp90 Where did you feel the pop? I felt a pop in my ribs last week and had to go straight to L&D to make sure a broken rib hadn't popped a lung (luckily it hadn't).
@kbrands7 Did your water come right after the pop? I've had no leakage since this happened and even got up and walked to the bathroom.. if it was a ligament I guess I just wouldn't know what it would sound like but very well could've been.
@ladysamlady I felt it very low and center below my bump.
I haven't been asked about kick counts - just movement. He's pretty darn active, except for a few hours of the day and that's mostly when I'm moving around.
Symptoms? Acid reflux (yay for antacids, my new candy!), menstrual-like cramps, soreness in lower back, trouble keeping temperature stable, dizziness mixed with some nausea and inability to catch my breath, sudden fatigue.
I've officially been taken off of work as of the 18th due to the dizziness/nausea since it's a safety issue at work. I have a Dr. note but pretty sure my boss is going to be PISSED since we're training new people.
@kp90 yes, it was immediate and dramatic. My understanding of slower leaks is that if you lay down and stand up again, you should get some fluid each time.
@kp90 I've felt my hip pop (and make a noise) a few times. Or I guess it was just an air bubble popping around my hip. Scarred the crap out of me the first time it happened!
@kp90 I've felt and heard some pops when I get up/sit down but no water breaking. But it seems like that's the area where it's happening, buuuut no water.

Hoping this means the end is in sight!

The type of movement doesn't matter.
I freaked and called my midwife around 33-ish weeks when her movement changed tons, and that's the info I got.
I only do kick counts when she's really quiet and I get nervous.
