@AnnaS930@camichael84@TNgoldengirl I, too, LOVE pregnancy. At least I did with DD (once past the first tri nausea). I love planning during it, talking about it, feeling baby move. I loved labor and delivery last time and hope to have a similar experience this time. I've been worried so far this pregnancy that my love for it somehow dwindled (or that this pregnancy has been / will be worse and I'll miss out on the experience I had last time). But now that I'm starting to feel better and announce to the world, it's becoming just as exciting and fun as I remember!
Is anyone else as excited as I am about "House of Cards" tomorrow??? After this hellish week I have already planned to reward myself with Chinese takeout, a milkshake, and binge watching it tomorrow night.
@TheTamedShrew- Ugh, we're so far behind, probably about 1/2 way into season 2 and just dropped out. With Netflix shows if we don't stick right with them we never get back around to it (get caught up in cable shows, HBO, Showtime, etc). That sounds fantastic.
This weekend is my husband's birthday and he took the whole weekend off (he hasn't had a weekend off without any plans in the whole year of our child's life). Hoping he's up for chinese takeout, that sounds awesome. We'll probably wrap up Fuller House and maybe do some Peaky Blinders - or watch some of the hundreds of movies we've been meaning to get around to!
@Thscary- I haven't heard of it, but have driven through the Wilkes-Barre area.. or at least near enough to it to see signs for it. That's cool - URI is pretty much the go-to pharmacy school for New England, though we now have a couple schools in Maine.
Ooh! New house of cards?! Hooray! Oh. Wait. We cancelled Netflix in favor of Amazon prime. Boooooo.
I'm in the love being pregnant camp too. At least once I get to 2nd tri and especially once I can feel baby move. I love that I am less self-conscious about my body when I am pregnant and I just love the special time that I get with baby. If I had gotten started younger, I'd probably have 6 kids. as it is, I'm super grateful for a second pregnancy and, if we keep the door open and get lucky enough to have a third, I'll be thrilled. I'm also one of those crazy people who loves the newborn stage--sleepless nights and all. Give me all the squishy baby time!
@Sporty1216A huge part of my pregnancy love is that I lose the self-consciousness that I have and just enjoy my body for what it is and what it's doing. Time to let it all hang out instead of trying to keep my abs tight/sucked in all day!
@TheTamedShrew We co-sleep, not necessarily by choice but by necessity. We had my LO sleeping in his crib, and frequently STTN without having to get up to him before he got really sick. When we came home from the hospital I didn't have it in me to do any kind of training with him any time soon because we were all so traumatized from what happened and hew as happier in my bed. It's annoying sometimes and other times we don't even realize he's in there. We're working on transitioning him back to his crib though because it's just not going to work with a newborn in the picture.
I was told this morning that someone "has never met someone who enjoys being pregnant as much as you do" ... This is probably true. Anyone else with me? It might be hard to say already if you're a FTM, but last pregnancy and this one, I just love it all. I feel like I'm glowing today.
I probably am.. because I busted out maternity jeans and a maternity top - makes it look like I'm showing more because nothing it cutting my blump in half like usual. Also, I have Cadbury mini eggs in my bag. Booyeah.
I enjoy pregnancy, though I could've done without the constant nausea/lack of appetite/vomiting this time around. 2nd trimester is my favorite. I felt so good in my 2nd trim when I was pregnant with my daughter.

I know we're supposed to only eat tuna in moderation but I just scarfed down a 6" Subway tuna sub. Hopefully that's moderation? IDK but it was delicious.

I've heard the tuna moderation rule is like 4-6 oz a week or something? I'd say a single sandwich would definitely be fine. Then again, the nurse at my OB told me "The fish rules are very complicated, so maybe you should just totally avoid it". Well, white fish seems to be one of the only proteins I still want to eat these days, so I still have it once a week or so!

That's kind of what I was doing; since I couldn't really measure how much tuna they put on a sandwich I was just avoiding them. But today I said, "Nope. Need tuna now." And I ate the whole thing, and still want more. So hungry all the time.

I also did not love breastfeeding. I do it because it's best for the baby, and it's way more convenient when baby is eating 10 times a day. It's a drag having to bring bottles and formula with you everywhere. My goal is usually a year, mainly because after a year they can have whole milk and I don't have to worry about formula. That being said, I only breastfed my youngest until 9 months because I got pregnant. My milk supply decreased and it was really uncomfortable.
I have been looking at nursery ideas on Pinterest and it is weakening my desire to be team green. Either way, I am loving this paint color for either a boy or girl.
The fish depends a lot on what kind of fish it is. My OB told me to stay away from large fish that eat other fish. Tuna being one of those. Smaller, white-meat fish are okay to eat because the mercury content is lower in them.
Blah. UO is getting too political for me, and I shouldn't complain - I fed into it. Can we talk about food again? Or nursery ideas? Or really, anything else?

I don't have anything to say about nurseries, but I did decide yesterday that I want the gender reveal shower my best friend wants to throw us to be Game of Thrones themed.
*************************************** FORMER USERNAME:@runningisrad
@runningisrad- I am hugely intrigued by how that would be a possible theme. I'm not judging you (yet), but anxiously awaiting how this is going to play out
@AnnaS930 wellllll that's the part we haven't worked out yet, LOL. The main thing that inspired me was that I don't really like the pink/blue gender stereotype crap and wanted to stay away from that. Then it hit me: we could do away with that completely and instead of boy/girl and pink/blue, we could do khal/khaleesi! We will see how it all works out, but I'm pretty excited.

Anyone else notice or get excited when the activity on the Month Boards after us starts picking up? In my head it's 'yay we're all more in the safer zone now.' I know it's strange, but the more months that become active the more excited I get.
@LakeR2014- I totally get that.. It was fun last time too to start seeing when the months behind us started finding out sex, etc. And just wait until we're a month or two out and the boards just ahead of us start posting birth stories. OMG
@AnnaS930Oh Man, depending on how I'm feeling around 7 months pregnant, is whether or not I'll read those stories. I'm pretty good on the pain and gore tolerance, but if it's 100 out in July and I already feel like a beached whale, reading stories like that might send me over the 'crazy' edge.
@LakeR2014- yeah, so with other boards I didn't so much read their full birth stories, but would peruse through just to be like (say for us) OMG, 5 new births in the August 16 group! The time is comingggg! And to look at their adorable squishes. And to see the wonderful (and terrible) names selected.
I have looked on other BMBs and birth stories don't seem to be much of a thing anymore. When I was pregnant with DS, most people would post their birth story in their own thread. I read as many as I could and it helped me feel very prepared for anything that could happen during birth. I am sad to see that they mostly went away.
@AnnaS930Oooo ok - yea I will totally do that. That would just be too fun to not check up on.
In an aside and relation to other threads. Browsed another month board last night per someones suggestion - and OMG! There was mad snark and aggression. I'm not all sunshine and rainbows, but I was really happy to retreat to our S16 board and it's calm, fun, sarcastic and smack some sense (in non-demeaning ways) group. Cause, ya know, we rock!
Very random...my daughter who is an extremely picky eater (technically a problem feeder who has been in speech therapy for food therapy...long story) saw one of her friends eating a pizza lunchable at the kids museum. She really wanted to try it, so whenever she has an interest in a new food item, I make a point to buy it.
I bought two today. She was so-so about it, but I could not get enough. I ate the rest of hers and busted into the second one that I bought. And now I can't wait to go back to the store and buy some more. It figures, literally nothing tastes good to me these days but this lunchable tastes amazing. I mean...I'm still thinking about it an hour later. Haha
@LizC216 My daughter is also a picky eater and I worry that I should have her in speech therapy/feeding therapy. I used to work with SLPs/OTs/PTs and I'm just not sure if mine is just selective, or if she has issues. What were the deciding factors that got your daughter into feeding therapy?
And also... Yum. Lunchables!
*************************************** FORMER USERNAME:@runningisrad
@LakeR2014- I browsed that board too, or at least I think I did, and didn't see any snark. So many I'm just aggression tolerant, or just didn't find the juicy thread!
@LizC216 I definitely still buy myself the cheese pizza Lunchables when they go on for $1 each, though it's not like the $2.50 regular is that much more... I don't know what it is (the plastic-y cheese? the cardboard crusts?), but they are a guilty pleasure!
ummm, The nachos lunchable is THE BOMB. That nacho cheese in there is so good. I get myself one whenever we're staying at a hotel/camping and we run into the grocery store to get pre-made lunches.
I also steal spoonfuls of my kid's spagghetios whenever I give them to him. YUM. And would steal bites of his chicken nuggets if I was a vegetarian.

So she was always a horrible eater. I thought it was something that we did or did not do, but looking back it seems to always have been there. If we were giving her a bottle and took it out halfway through to burp her, she wouldn't finish. When we moved to baby food/solids, she would only eat pears no matter how many foods I tried or how many times I tried them. When she got a bit older, she would only eat yogurt, chicken tenders and Mac n cheese. Then when I really paid attention, I saw how she would get really fidgety with "wet foods", constantly wanting to wipe her hands, tensing up. At her three year appt, I brought it up again and the doctor suggested we go for a consult.
You should try to find this handout. "Picky Eaters v. Problem Feeders" by Kay Toomey. They actually gave me a lot of helpful handouts from this doctor.
It's an obnoxious problem to have. We are still working through it.

I forgot about the nachos one! They didn't have any, but I'm going to add that to my list.
My confession and maybe UO, I can't be around Spaghettios. Something about the smell makes me gag. My sisters loved them when we were kids and would always ask for them. I could not stand them. I'm not sure why...it's basically noodles and sauce which I love.

Oh the snark and aggression was definitely there. I think you missed the thread!
Ohh ew some of my kids at MDO bring lunchables and they gross me out!!
And am I the only one whose baby won't have a nursery? He/she will share our room for at least 6 months and then share with either big sister or brother until we get a new house with more bedrooms. I will miss decorating for it, but makes it easier to go team green.

No, baby won't have a nursery here either. We live in a 2 BR townhome, so baby will room with us for a while then my daughter.

Chances are we'll be moving to an apartment while we house hunt in a new city. With prices, we might end up in a loft or 1 BR. It would be nice for LO to have a separate space, but I think at first having the crib/bassinet/whatever close at hand will be the likely arrangement.
@TNgoldengirl nope this baby will be sharing with our 2yr old. I'm not sure if I'll keep this LO in our room or what. My son slept horrible in the rock n play and was moved to his crib at probably a wk old and slept wonderfully! So I'm not sure how this will work out, but we'll see

Ditto here. Baby is with us until he/she sleeps better and will room in with a sib. With my son if it's a boy, or with our youngest daughter if it's a girl.
