Ugh. So today sucks. I just found out my due date twin (my step sisters best friend) lost her baby today. I don't even really know this person and my heart hurts so bad. I can't even imagine. Being extra thankful for what I have right now and sending out prayers.

Oh no. That's terrible. I will be keeping her in my prayers.
Me: 31
DH: 29, SA - Great
Married: June 12,2011
TTC #1: 1/2014
Diagnosis: Hypothalamic Amenorrhea
Treatment: Clomid: 50mg, 100mg, 150mg - not successful and not monitored
@dsmith211 That's so devastating. Thoughts and prayers for her; I really hope that she has a lot of support right now. I'm definitely giving my son an extra squeeze tonight and feeling even more thankful for this pregnancy too.
I forgot I was pregnant for a split second today and slid onto my bed belly first! Oh my gosh the pain!! How did I forget I was pregnant when not 15 minutes before this I had wicked heartburn from bending over.
I'm so glad my MIL has no child birth experience (she's DH's stepmom, never beared a child of her own). I don't think I can take child birth advice from TWO women. My mom is enough (and she only had one, me)!
I owe DH an apology today. I got mad bc he spent 10 dollars on lottery tickets last night instead of things we 'need' bc he was feeling lucky. I kept telling him it was a waste and wouldn't drop it. We ended up winning $100.
He said bc I was such a butt about it, the baby gets it all and not me. I guess that's ok.
Have you guys ever been sooo tired you can't keep your eyes open, but at the same time, can't fall asleep? All I want is a nap. I tired but just couldn't. So now I am making muffins and putzing around the nursery.
Also I think my gym days are done for a while. While I'm sitting here thinking of my muffins, the cellulite on my legs is growing. And my legs wee always my best feature
Just ordered an enormous Italian hero and I am so excited. Oh how I've missed you deli meat.
A friend of mine gave birth last week (she's a FTM) and she was fastidious all throughout her pregnancy about avoiding all the foods on the no-no list. As soon as she went into pre-labor (like, as soon as she realized her contractions were coming at regular intervals) the first thing she did was order Jimmy Johns. She had JJ for lunch, dinner, and a midnight snack before her water broke in the wee hours of the morning and she headed to the hospital.
I was so inspired I told DH to add that to our birth plan.

DH is sleeping next to me. I got into the bed thinking I could actually sleep. Nope. I'm trying really hard not to slap him.
Been married since 2009. Unicornuate Uterus (yes I menstruate glitter) Several MCs DD born 2013 (our miracle "you can't have babies" baby!)
I'm not a fan of hoagies but I did tell my DH to show up at the birth center with a case of blue moon beer!
I asked for a bottle of chilled champagne...he thought I was joking....I don't joke about champagne!!
I gotta find those breast milk test strips so I can have my beer and not get my brand new baby drunk! unless that's not a real concern?
I could be wrong but I think as long as you aren't sloppy drunk and just buzzed you are ok. Also, my plan is to BF and then drink immediately after so by the time Luna is hungry again it will be out of my system.

Yep. DS is holding me nap hostage. It's the perfect opportunity for me to sleep too, but nothing. I think I just have to pee to often.

I love that we're all planning for how to handle the alcohol. I'm dying for a big glass of wine...and I'm not even much of a drinker!

It's best timed to drink while you're breastfeeding or immediately afterwards and keep it to one or two depending on how you process alcohol...or 1/2 drink if you're a cheap date like me. Generally, if you're okay to drive or do any other similar activity, then your blood alcohol is low enough to safely breastfeed too. And I mean really safe to drive, not "ehh, I can probably drive a few blocks" safe. (Just in case we have anyone reading who fudges that line sometimes.)

From what I was told this is pretty accurate. Your blood alcohol will be comparable to what is in the milk. A slight buzz from a drink or 2 won't hurt, but drunkenness obviously not ok for alcohol content in the milk. I plan on doing the same as what was mentioned. Feed then have a drink or 2. Anything more than that then obviously other plans would need to be made... But that's probably a ways down the road.
Urg DH is laying on the couch sick watching Food Network. Some show about donuts. Dude does not understand he cannot have this on the TV right now...why? Because now I want a freaking donut! Its not enough that I have 3 containers of Talenti in the freezer I guess...

Just sent my husband out for McDonald's with a list! A list because I want THAT much food!
Anyone else stuck renting and feel like they are never going to be able to buy a house?? I have a very nice two bedroom apartment but we are about to become a family of four when this baby arrives. I really want to buy a house, but have zero money for a down payment.

The power of suggestion is insane! I made H take me on a mission to Soho last trimester to get a dessert from a bakery after we saw it on the food network.

Yup. We have money saved (thank you wedding checks!) but in our area we need atleast 80k as a down payment and that is never gonna happen.

Yeah... my parents are our landlords, they rent out the top half of their duplex to us for not much rent. Our problem is mainly all our student loan debt.

Same here on legs as best feature. Now they've started rubbing together at the thighs and the other day I saw a bunch of cellulite in the mirror when I was getting dressed. I started to freak out and then decided to not give a crap, and wait and see what they're like after the baby and decide if I care then. Another reason I'm happy to not be pregnant in the summer, permanently wearing leggings for the rest of pregnancy!
One of my huge pet peeves is people who make promises and don't keep them. Like literally when you ask if they'll do something for you and their response is "I promise". Not going into details bc I could go on forever but so over a particular persons empty promises.
I took a nap today as well. I was up so late because of bad heartburn, and was really crabby. I tried to fight it, but my husband made me. God bless him, that nap was glorious. I woke up and immediately requested cinnamon toast crunch. Haven't had it in 15 years - he is at the grocery store now. To be fair, he was already headed there to pick up an Italian sub from earlier posts - I blame you @ladysamlady. I think he knows he just needs to keep me well fed - like the wild animals at the zoo.

I've got one of those! SIL is the worst--I swear I don't know how she keeps jobs as long as she does because pretty much her saying she'll do something is a surefire guarantee that she won't do it. She has stood DH and I up for dinner four times in the last month, and the last two times were dinners that *she* asked to come over for!
Any recommendations on baby swings? All the ones I saw online at Target either weren't rated very well, were more expensive than I'm comfortable with, or not available online or in stock at a store within 20+ miles. Lucie's List only had a couple suggestions.
(We were going to be getting a used one from SIL, but unfortunately it broke. )

DH and I are renting for the next few years: we're moving for my job but we can't buy a house until he gets one too and we know, geographically, where we can live. Also, no clue how we're going to save up for a down payment when we've got student loans yet. So it might be a while.
But! The horrible thing is that, in the area we are moving to, it is *SO MUCH CHEAPER* to buy than to rent!!!! If you pay a mortgage, even with a 10% down payment, you are looking at ~$800-$1200/month. To rent? $1900/month for anything nicer than a roach motel. How on earth can you pay those rates and save anything??? We'll be making the median income for the area we live in but that will still be about 60 percent of our take-home pay, not even considering utilities.
Random cuteness: I was just starting my Joyful Noises choir rehearsal after church service and there were two girls talking. The older one said "My brother said Jesus is dead!" and the younger girl's lip shot out and she said "But...Jesus is my friend!" I had to quickly intervene before the tears started and explained that Jesus did die, but then rose from the dead and is now with all of us. Of course, a little boy piped up "Like some kind of zombie ghost?" And the younger girl shrieked "My friend Jesus is a zombie! Oh no! That's scary!" Ok, how do I explain this one? So I just called for quiet mouths and ready hands and started rehearsal. I did warn the girl's mother that she may have some questions tonight...

Also, that is the most amazing cake I've ever seen.
Also, are those cannoli shells in the background? Do you make your own cannolis?!
