Honestly the word step dad doesn't even exist to them he is just daddy! We just started TTC and are rally excited about it. We are trying for it to be as natural as possible without all the extensive planning, to us we are just trying to have fun and make a beautiful baby in the process. i'm and admin assistant at an accounting firm and currently studying to become a CPA myself. My DH owns his own security and child care businesses (I know how in the world do those 2 industries correlate lol). I'm 30 and my husband just turned 38. We have been married 6 years (together 9). I was some what active on the April 2014 BMB. Our daughter Zoey is 2 and we just started trying this cycle for another. (Currently on CD 13). I am a sensitive person and take things to heart (fair warning) but I do have a sense of humor. I am obsessed with Game of Thrones. I am a closet nerd and love to learn new things via you tube tutorials.
Hi everyone! My name is Jenna and I am 27! DH and I have just started TTC. We went on a Mediterranean cruise for our 2nd wedding anniversary (just got back last Saturday), and we thought what better time to start TTC than our anniversary trip?! Anyways, I took 2 preg tests, both were negative My LMP was May 18, so I am a week late now so I am hoping the tests were wrong. I'm so excited to be a part of the TTC club for now, but I hope my stay here is a short one!
Looking forward to this amazing adventure

Hello my name is Victoria I'm 28 no children currently TTC since June 2015. I read lots of discussions on here and I really enjoy them.
I've been taking a prenatal vitamin (Spring Valley) I've also tried Vitex and Geritol. My cycles are 24/25/26 days. I look forward to all of the advice and comments because I am very open to all suggestions.
Hello there! I'm Emily and 30 y/o - hubs is 38. We were married Oct 2013 and we started trying for number two recently. We have a 7 month old little guy, and my OBGYN said 6 months was the least amount of time I could wait after a C-section to try again. We knew we wanted babies close together, so we wanted to go ahead and get started because who knows when it might actually happen.
Hello ladies!!! So we have decided to start now instead of waiting! We are trying but not actively trying. (We aren't preventing.) I am so very excited as is hubby!!!<3 ! So I am sure I am going to get bit for asking but is there a list of terms so I know what everyone is talking about? I have been out of the game for a better 6+ years. Thank you!
@MsMae79 check out the newbie guide near the top of the post. It is full of great terms and acronyms. And is a wealth of knowledge. Welcome to the TTC journey!
I'm Betty, and this month the hubs and I started TTC #1. YAY!!! I stopped BCPs in April 2016. Prior to Memorial Day weekend AF still hadn't shown up and we were going to be doing a lot of drinking so I took a test just to make sure. We were NTNP and I didn't expect anything, but the negative test really bummed out the hubs so we decided (to my happiness) to start trying to more actively TTC. So, here I am, in my first TWW ever and it's already killing me. Currently I'm focusing on temping and tracking CP and CM for ovulation. For now I'm entertaining myself with TB and searching pregnancy announcements on pinterest like I'm getting paid for it. I'm trying not to think more than one step ahead...for sanity's sake. The hubs is in law school, will graduate May 2017 and will take the bar exam in July 2017. So, if we're not expecting by September, we will TTA for a couple of months - it wouldn't be the best timing if a baby came the week of the bar. At that point, we'll start investing more if necessary, getting OPKs and what not.
Otherwise, I'm 29, DH is 37. I'm finishing up my BA in History, December 2016. DH is finishing up law school. We've been married since November 2010 and together since September 2007. We love going to concerts, make late night food runs and see movies on whims whenever we can. I love country music, grilled cheese sandwiches, and anything Tarantino.
So, best of luck to everyone. Hope none of us are here too long!

I'm a returning member of the board. We lost our most recent baby on March 29th, at 13 weeks and 3 days. My 5th loss total, and we have 3 live children. Several surgeries, some unexpected health complications, and 3 months later, and here we are, being told that we can start TTC again in August, although with some more urgency attached to it, as they would like us to conceive as quickly as possibly so that they can go ahead and remove all of my lady parts after I give birth. If we don't conceive somewhat quickly, they would like us to consider the option of having everything removed, baby or not. We are devastated and praying that this next try results in a healthy baby very soon. I am going to be joining the TTC after a loss board, so maybe I'll see some of you over there as well.
@KirstinH88 Thank you! We booked it as a "last hurrah" kind of thing. Gotta get the travel bug out of our system before babies! Santorini was on my bucket list and it was amazing!!

Okay, yes. I'm almost 28. Never been pregnant and never tried. I've been married almost 7 years to my 34 year old husband. I was recently diagnosed with PCOS about a year ago, so I'm concerned about how that will impact us. I do ovulate 3 or so times a year. I'm joining this forum to learn more about ttc and to meet other people going through the same thing. I'm super stressed out and terrified, basically.

I'm sorry to hear about your PCOS diagnosis. That has to make starting the TTC process a little more stressful. Several ladies on the board also have PCOS so you won't be alone.
Whenever you feel ready just hop into the WTO/TWW thread and/or just start participating in the other daily threads like WTF Wednday/UO Thursday etc. I know if you're only ovulating 3x per year you won't often be in the TWW thread and WTO may feel a bit strange. Some of the ladies with super long/infrequent cycles seem to enjoy posting in WTO as it at least gives them a place to complain about all things WTO and get to know some of the other ladies on the forum. And others feel that hanging out in WTO and watching all the other ladies come and go as they have normal cycles is depressing. You just have to do what is right for you.
Also, and this is something you can absolutely discuss with other ladies in your situation, you may want to see an RE sooner than the standard year of trying if you know you only ovulate around 3x/year. Or at least talk to your GYN about it to see if there is something he/she could suggest to help you out in the TTC process. The only thing I'd caution with that is that it isn't recommended to take Clomid/femara unless you're seeing an RE because OB/GYNs usually don't do all the proper monitoring etc. So if you do discuss with your OB/GYN and he/she suggests Clomid/Femara I'd say to ask for a referral to a RE.
Best of luck!

@NamelessAria Wow, thank you for your reply. Yes, I'm definitely going to seek assistance from an RE. Otherwise, the odds are not in my favor when I'm only ovulating 3 times per year. My current OBGYN knows that I have been tracking my cycles very closely over the last year, so I plan to ask for a referral to a RE next week when I see her. I've been taking prenatal vitamins, taking folic acid, tracking my cycle, reading everything I can, and drinking raspberry leaf tea for a year in anticipation of TTC, so she knows I'm not messing around lol. I've been exploring the WTO and TWW boards for a while. I'll continue to do so. Thanks again!

hi my DH and I have been TTC for over a year now and we have not been successful. He has 2 children from a previous marriage. We are not using OPKs and I'm trying to temp but I'm horrible at remembering or I end up getting out of bed before I remember. I had my thyroid removed in 2012 because it was three times the size it was suppose to be. I'm just praying that this cycle is it. I'm looking for people on here that are supportive and are there when I need them. I have my husbands support but we are keeping it a secret from family and friends because of the problems it may cause some issues and I'm not that confident I would have there support.
Hi everyone I've been lurking for a bit and decided I should finally post an intro! Hubby and I are 34, and I am almost 15 weeks along with our first. I'm looking forward to talking with you all

If you're already pregnant you should go to your birth month board, with this being a "Trying to get pregnant" group no one is actually pregnant
Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm 30. FI is 38. I'm a social worker. FI works in automation. We are in the middle of wedding planning and also TTC - I know we're nuts. Truthfully, we are more excited about the latter - not that we're not excited about the former. We're getting antsy to start a family I suppose.
I recently started charting and finished reading "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" - what an eye opener. That book seriously should be mandatory reading during health/sex ed.
I'm really looking forward to sharing this journey with you ladies
Hello everyone! I was going to wait for the intro, but I really stuck my foot in my mouth earlier and decided that the best way for everyone to get to know me beyond that would be to jump in and become an active member of the community instead of tucking my head in my shell and just lurking! Phew!
My name is Emily. I'm 32, and a WAHM (child care) with a 5 year old DD and 15 month old DS.
DD's (Ruby) bio father and I separated when I was 5 months pregnant due to abuse. I DH 2.5 yrs ago, and he treats her as his own. Together, DH and I have a 15 month old DS (Salvatore). DH and I have decided we are ready to TTC #3. I stopped taking the BCP in May and am still waiting for my body to regulate itself. My hope is to gain knowledge and friendship through this journey. I look forward to getting to know you guys!
Hey everyone. DH and I were TTC last year, and actually succeeded the first cycle trying. I lost that pregnancy early on (about 6 weeks), and we failed to get pregnant again over the next several cycles. We stopped TTC in January, mostly because I was just getting too stressed out over it.
I'm starting to feel like maybe I'm ready to start trying again. Today I received a package from Amazon containing a basal thermometer, Wondfo OPKs and HPTs, and some Preseed lubricant. I had used OPKs before, but I've never tracked BBT or tried Preseed. Hoping we have luck with this new game plan! Looking forward to being a part of this community
Hi I'm Liz, just starting TTC baby # 1. We've been married for 6 years and my husband is finally close to finishing his degree, so baby time is on. I'm a huge planner and type A (ICU nurse) so I started charting as soon as we started trying. This is month two and I'm using charting and OPKs. Here's hoping it works!
Hi everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself. My husband (30) and I (32) just got married last month (May 2016) and just started TTC this month. This would be the first child for both of us (and first grandkid for our parents!) I'm using an app to track my periods and fertility and it says I'm fertile this week so we better start crackin'! LOL
I've been tracking my BBT for the last week or so with my regular thermometer, but I'm thinking maybe I need the specific on. I'm a little confused as to what I'm looking for!
athenia45 This Amazon MABIS Basal Digital Thermometer is what most women here use. It's a cheap but effective thermometer. IF you haven't already, check out the Newbie Thread. There is a lot of good information for just getting started. Any additional questions, you can post in the WTO(Waiting to Ovulate) or TWW(Two Week Wait) daily threads depending on where you are in your cycle.

TTC since August 2018
Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm 30. FI is 38. I'm a social worker. FI works in automation. We are in the middle of wedding planning and also TTC - I know we're nuts. Truthfully, we are more excited about the latter - not that we're not excited about the former. We're getting antsy to start a family I suppose.
I recently started charting and finished reading "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" - what an eye opener. That book seriously should be mandatory reading during health/sex ed.
I'm really looking forward to sharing this journey with you ladies
Edited due to misspelled word.
I'm new to the boards here, too, but they're pretty awesome! ❤️
