Hello everyone! My name is Danielle and I'm 26 and DH is 28. I've been with DH since I was 15 years old (high school sweethearts) and this June we'll celebrate our first year of marriage.
We are ready to start our family and we want one child for numerous reasons and because we'll be going through IVF and PGD to conceive. I had genetic testing done late last year because I was born with a mild case of Nager syndrome and DH and I wanted to see if there's a chance of our child having it too. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago we found out that there's a 50/50 chance and no promise that he or she will be born with a milder case than I. There's a possibility that he or she could be born with a more severe case which would be devastating. Our genetic counselor brought up a few options for family planning and we liked IVF and PGD option the most for us. I have a couple of appointments with two clinics to learn more about the procedures, our options, finances, and etc. Because we've never tried to get pregnant before we're not sure if we are fertile or infertile so I'm sure the clinic that we choose will help rule all that out with testing.
I'm mostly nervous about costs because my insurance only covers IVF and PGD if due to infertility. If it isn't, it's all out of pocket. If that's the case I think my husband and I will have to have a serious conversation about the next step. My first appointment is this Friday
Me: 28 DH:30 Together since: May 2005 Married: June 2015 TTC #1 with IVF & PDG/S (reduce the chance of our child being born with Nager Syndrome)
Hey all! I'm 28 and TTC #2. DH and I have 1 DD who is almost 11 months old now. I'm a SAHM. We've been NTNP for a while now, but are switching to actively TTC. I'll probably be mostly a lurker, but I wanted to say hi!
Hey guys im not entirely sure if i have posted in here yet or not so im just gonna go ahead and do it again just in case. My name is Alisa and im 23 years old. I have been TTC #1 for 7 months and am starting to get really bummed that im not pregnant yet. I have even started to take my BBT and OPK's. Idk what else to do the OPK's are starting to confuse me. I keep getting two lines on every one that I take but still haven't gotten my BFP. Does anyone know what is causing that? Im starting to feel like im letting down my DH even though he tells me im not and i just feel like noone else understands because they have already had their tiny miracles and im ready for mine. Im losing hope that im ever going to get to be a mother. could really use some friends to talk to that understand what im going through. any advice or anything. i have tried to get my mind off of it and its not working.
@Babyfever92 With OPKs the second line needs to be darker than the control for it to be considered positive. Just because you see two lines doesn't mean they are all positive.
In April 2015 I was in my first TWW and went in search of information about the TTC process and what to expect. Google led me to TB and I loved the honesty with a side of snark so I've been lurking ever since! Yup, I've been lurking for more than a year. I've taken all the good advice and started temping, checking CM, using Fertility Friend to chart, using OPKs, using Wondfos to save some money, everything.
I'm over 35 with a history of fibroids so I went to an RE last November. He confirmed that fibroids were preventing my getting pregnant, and if by some miracle I did get pregnant, the fibroids were likely to cause a miscarriage. I had surgery in January to remove them (laparotomy), and was told to wait until July to TTC again to make sure I'm fully healed. I'm charting to avoid until then because I keep picturing the John Hurt moment from Alien. Ok that's from Space Balls but you get the idea.
Other bits: H is 31, we've been married two years, TTC #1. Hi! (hoping gifs work)

I'm Jade, and very grateful to be a part of this community. I have read all the info for newbies I hope and have done some lurking this past week. My DH and I are TTC, we started in January by getting IUD (copper) out and just having sex but now are actively tracking. I ovulated on the 23rd or 24th and am now in the TWWP. My cycle is slow, usually between 45 - 55 days, I have been tracking it for over a year. My friend told me to test seven days AO and I got a BFN, that was yesterday, I have learnt my lesson and am waiting until two weeks has passed. No period though, and I think I may have a short luteal phase because I thought I ovulated way earlier than I found out this month. Anyways - lots to learn, trying to breathe deep and trust my body. Look forward to chatting and learning!
Hello, everyone! I'm Jami. My DH and I have been married since 2012 and we have a DD who is turning three this month. When we decided to try for her, I went off the pill in September and got a BFP a month later. Now we're hoping for baby #2 and have been TTC since June of 2015. I've been tracking, having sex EOD, and monitoring my CM (which barely seems to change), but my cycle has been really screwy since I went off BC back in March of 2015, so it has been challenging to get my head around what is happening with my body. I joined the boards because I like the sense of community here and hearing from women with similar experiences.
I work for a global company in content management and I have an English degree that I don't use. :-) I'm a book nerd, a film buff, and recently picked up knitting (which I still kind of suck at).
Nice to meet everyone!

Hi everyone! I've been lurking on the bump for quite awhile and now that my husband and I are officially TTGP, I wanted to introduce myself. This is our first cycle trying and both of us are very excited! I have read TCOYF and I'm temping/charting. Looking forward to talking with everyone
H & I: Both 28 Married: June 2015 TTC #1: June 2016 BFP: 11-24-16 ~ EDD 8-9-17 IT'S A BOY!
Hi everyone. I've been lurking for awhile but am otherwise new to the bump. My DH and I are both 28 and have been married for a little more than 2 years. He's finishing grad school this month and I'm hoping to finish next year. I got my Mirena out last month and I'm giving my body a cycle or two before we start TTC #1. We're planning to start NTNP this summer and then really focus on TTGP in the fall. I've read the Impatient Women's Guide to getting pregnant and TCOYF and have started charting - I'm anxious to get started! I'm looking forward to learning from everyone on here!
Well hello there! I'm coming back to TTGP as a previous reg of the board when I was TTC baby #1. I stopped participating when the big changeover happened with TB, but no other online forum provides the snark and brutal honesty of TTGP (I mean, I browsed the forums that FF offers and lordy, they will tell everyone they are pregnant).
DS is now almost 18 months and DH and I are more than ready to welcome another baby into the fam. I am still BF my son and my cycles are a bit wonky with a shorter LP than I'd like. My first PP cycle returned in Nov and I recently started going back to acupuncture, which I believe helped me conceive DS.
I'm wondering if I'll see any familiar faces or anyone will remember me, but it's nice to be back!
Hi I'm a returning member after a long absence! My youngest is almost 5! But I find myself with some questions & know what a great resource this has been I the past. Best wishes to everyone on their journey! Claire
Hi ladies I'm a newbie on here been stalking this sight for the last year and finally decided to join, I'm Sammy (25) met my now husband (20) back in 2010, we started dating in 2012 & married in July 2015 & are on month 12 TTC #1 currently in the TWW arrrggghh! Really hoping that this is our month, AF due on 11th which would have been my Grandads 98th birthday if he was still with us so would be great to get a BFP that day FX also could announce to my husband on fathers day that he will get to be a daddy! lots and lots of baby dust to you all never imagined it could take this long I just assumed we would have unprotected sex and bam I'm pregnant.... How wrong I was!
Hey there! I've been lurking for a couple of months now and started TTC for baby #1 about two months ago. Figured I'd introduce myself and start jumping in! DH (34 in August) and I (33 in November) got married in February 2015 and I stopped taking my BCPs in February. We have actively been trying since about April. I guess I'm still waiting for the BCPs to completely leave my system. I also have a few hiccups along the way - hypothyroidis and Hashimoto's. So, hopefully we won't face too many challenges.
Me: 32 | DH: 33 Met: October 2011 Married: February 2015 TTC #1 Since March 2016 Diagnosed with Hypothyroidism June 2015 Diagnosed with Hashimoto's September 2015 Started Levothyroxine for high TSH June 2015
my name is Marissa and I have been on the boards since 2008. We haven't really been active in a while until just recently.
We have three kids who are 8/6 and 2. We were surprised to find out we were pg with our forth and we just had a miscarriage. Even though we weren't expecting Jelly Bean we were very excited to find out we were pg. We have decided to officially start trying again, after we recover from this one.
Good morning, I'm Jessica. I have 2 older children 22 yo and 18 yo. My husband has 19 yo, 14 yo, 10 yo. Together we have a 22 month old that was quite a surprise. We decided to start trying to give her a sibling closer to Her age. We started trying in December. I had my LMP on January 28, ovulated on February 9, BFP on February 21. March 22 US and baby's heart beat. March 29 no movement no heartbeat. Diagnosis missed miscarriage. March 30 D&C. Started trying again in May. AF showed up. I'm now in my 2ww cycle day 16 and 4 DPO

Welcome! We do not use the bolded term on this board as it can be offensive and hurtful to those who have unfortunately had to cremate their baby. Please make sure to read the Newbie Guide and jump in on our daily threads like WTO (waiting to ovulate) and TWW (two week wait) when you are comfortable!
My name is Heather, I'm 27 and I was a member of the F15 board and now that DD is getting bigger, DH and I are now working on TTC baby #2! I just wanted to introduce myself and say that I hope to see many of you on my birth month board (whenever THAT may be!).
Good luck to all the TTC mommies out there!

I'm Chelsea and am 26 years old. My hubby is 28 years old. I'm totally new to forums, but I thought that it would be fun to connect with others who are TTC. Bare with me as I learn all of the lingo. My hubby and I are high school sweethearts, and we have been together for 10 1/2 years. We are best friends, and we even work together. I was an only child and the youngest of my cousins, so I don't have much (really any) experience with babies. My hubby is the youngest in his family and doesn't really know his cousins, so he has zero experience with little ones. (He literally held his first baby about a year ago.) Needless to say, we are both pretty scared (yet super excited) about, hopefully, having our 1st baby soon. I'm excited to meet you all, and I look forward to taking this journey to motherhood together. Please share any advice that you may have.
Hi everyone! I'm a SAHM to 2 (5 & 3 year old) kids already, but last month we caught some insane baby fever & started trying this month. With my first two, it was relatively easy & took 2 months trying for each. In between I had a blighted ovum m/c that I got a D&C for at about 11 weeks.
I haven't ever done temping or a FF chart, but I do have an app for my cycle & I get intense ovulation & occasional ovarian cyst pain. I'm rounding 33 so I'm really hoping age isn't going to work against me on this one!
Hello! I am 25 almost 26 years old. My husband and I began TTC June of of 2015. Finally got pregnant March 2016 and miscarried at week 7. Beginning the process of TTC again and a little nervous and terrified of the waiting game and what will happen.
Hello ladies! I'm Cem1121! I'm 22 & DH is 23. We've been together for what seems like forever but it's only been 3 years and married for almost 2 years. Going stronger than ever We officially started TTC Jan 2016 We currently don't have any of our own kids but we do have guardianship of my brother (16) and we have have a 1yr old Basset hound. We can't wait to expand our family.
Good Morning, This is my first time posting here. I have been lurking on and off for oh probably a year or so now. My DH and I will be married 2 years on 21st of June. Been together 9 years... I'm 26 DH is 25 I have been off BC since Feb 2015. We kinda have been just NTNP up until about March of this year.. Hello! I'm Christalla. In October 2015 i had a miscarriage at 7.5 weeks and also by December we moved country. We were told not to try fall pregnant for a minimum of 3 months but then started trying again about 3/4 months ago with no success. I also have multiple uterine fibroids which 3 different doctors say are of no harm and I should just keep TTC. The move has been a roller coaster and very challenging. I'm starting to feel very worried I haven't conceived yet but we still try. I'd love some advice as I'm scared & confused! Thanks loads & best of luck to all TTC!!!
Hello my name is Tisha. I'm 34 dh is 43. I have one dd that's 15 from previous relationship. We have been married since 2009. We have been TTC since 2009 after losing our first together in ectopic pregnancy where I lost left tube. Just found out sept of 2015 that right tube is blocked Which was devastating to find out. Then in march when we were ready to start ivf found out I had polyps and had them removed. Currently taking meds for ivf cycle. Suppose to have retrieval 6/21 and trans either the 21st or 24th. Here's hoping I get my bfp.
Hey everyone! I'm Kelsey. I'm 24. Previously on the A15 BMB. I have one son named Tanner. And a husband named Matthew. I work at an Italian restraint as a host. I pretty much get paid $10 to stand there. It's boring but something to do. Haha DH and I are trying for a spring baby. I'm excited to be here.
I'm Meagan. I'm 26 years old and currently a stay at home mom going to school. My Dd is a year and a half old. We have been trying to conceive a second child only since March this year. Only thing that is a bit of a downer is having 40 days cycles, but other than that we are excited to be trying for another. Just hoping to not have HG this time when it happens haha. Anyways nice to meet everyone and good luck!
I'm 23 and DH and I are planning TTC baby #1. I didn't think I would get the information I was looking for on the Babies on the Brain board, so I came here. I'm a planner by nature so that makes things stressful as I research and research again. We are currently stationed in Korea and I work at the American school on post as a substitute as well as at a computer lab part time. We have a little Maltese who is my fur baby and we're hoping to give her a brother or sister.
It's difficult figuring out when to start TTC. We are supposed to be leaving Korea in Feb, so I don't want to risk being too far along, but last night I found out we may be here even longer. All these bumps are making me realize that timing won't be perfect. I really don't want to deliver here though. I suppose I should get KO before worrying too much. I always have the option of flying back home mid pregnancy and delivering there.
I currently have a physical/preconception apt for mid July and am planning on taking out my IUD in August. I've read conflicting info on waiting a month or even 2 after an IUD is removed or not. I could use some guidance on that front. If it helps, I have the skyla (hormonal) IUD. My periods haven't stopped while I've been on it so I know that my uterine lining is shed each month (I read one article that said that was why women should wait).
Anywho, I hope to learn a lot. I've been creeping back through old threads. I hope I don't ask any stupid questions. No one in my family ever planned TTC and none of my friends have kids so I don't have a lot of people to talk to about my research, plus we're keeping it on the down lo.
I'm 32 and DH is 36. We've been married for 3+ years and just decided to pull the goalie (IUD) on June 3.
I've been on various forms of BC for many years, so I have not seen AF since I was 18 years old, which makes me feel a bit uneasy as I have no idea what my cycles will be like. I also have no recollection of what my cycles were like.
At the moment we are NTNP, but given our age, and our super-stressful careers, I figure that might change...
We haven't told anyone that we are TTC as we are very private people and don't want to be hounded by family or friends with incessant questions on what could be a very stressful (and personal) topic. That's why I'm here!

Hi everyone, I'm Lynsey. I'm 27 and DH and I just started TTC baby #1. Got off bcp in late April. I've been lurking around for a few weeks and decided to get my butt in gear and join in.
I'm Kristi. I haven't been on the board for a few months, but I think it's time I come back! I mostly lurked, but I think the support you ladies bring will be a huge help to me.
A little about me and my personal life: I just turned 21, and DH and I have been married for a little over a year. We have two kitties who I love very much! I'm in nursing school, about two years away from my degree. DH will have his business degree in about a year, and plans to open a bar when we have the funds. I have three nieces and a godson all under 14 months. They are amazing and it's so wonderful to watch them grow. I cannot wait to have one of my own.
My fertility journey so far: DH and I have been NTNP for about a year. I'm ready to start being more active in TTC. It's been pretty hard watching so many people in my life getting pregnant so easily, and I guess I just thought the same would happen to me. I was wrong! I have an appointment with my doctor in a month to make sure all my levels are normal, and to get some tips from the doc. I'm going to start temping after this cycles over, so hopefully I can get more in tune with my body!
I look forward to getting to know all of you! *edited because typo!*
Hey! I'm Samantha, I'm 27 and I have a 5 yr old daughter as well as a 9yr stepdaughter and 11 yr old stepson who we get for the summers. My husband and I have decided to start trying for our 2nd together, our daughter together was an OOPS, as well as his other two so we're new to "Trying" and this is our first month! DH works away in the oilfield two weeks a month so we have about 2 or three months before I would have to start driving 5 hrs to his work to DTD on O day. I've been a SAHM since my daughter was born but I'm studying to become a Librarian and I will be graduating with my associates in December and hopefully be going to get my bachelors next fall. I usually have O pain on one side during my predicted days but I've never paid much attention to any other signs. I'm hoping to learn a lot here!
@librarymom917, good luck TTC! I also get O pain on one side (my left). I remember thinking something was wrong with me. I've never really read about O pain or how it can only be on one side. It's interesting to meet others with similar O symptoms.
Hi all. I'm Caitlin. DH and I are both 27 and have been married since September 2013. I had Mirena for 2.5 years and loved it; got it removed June 3 as well, @weareturtles. We are going to start trying at the beginning of July. I was temping but my BBT started malfunctioning, but I do have OPK strips that I plan to use. I haven't had my period on Mirena so really have no idea about my cycle. I'm also trying to get the hang of all the acronyms around here.

Hello everyone, I'm Ashlie. I'm 22, getting ready to turn 23 on the 30th. My husband and I have recently decided to try aND conceive.
I was on depo for 3 years, my last shot was in October and just started having a period again this month. I've been stalking lately and finally decided to introduce myself.
I've been taking an at hone ovulation test and am going to start tracking my bbt. I use the Ovia app to track everything and according to it i should be in my fertile window this week.
Everything is new to me as I have had no interest in kids prior to marrying my husband. We are both anxious to see a BFP!
Hey all! DH and I just jumped on the baby-making train (after several years of me pestering him about when we would start trying!). DH is 31 and is a physician assistant, and I'm 30 and have an administrative position at a university. We have been together for almost 15 years (high school sweethearts) and married for 6.5. I've been lurking for a while and am hoping to start participating more. After reading all these posts, I have so much to learn!

IT'S A BOY!
I'm wondering if I'll see any familiar faces or anyone will remember me, but it's nice to be back!

my name is Marissa and I have been on the boards since 2008.
Looking forward to being on the board again.
Welcome! We do not use the bolded term on this board as it can be offensive and hurtful to those who have unfortunately had to cremate their baby. Please make sure to read the Newbie Guide and jump in on our daily threads like WTO (waiting to ovulate) and TWW (two week wait) when you are comfortable!

We officially started TTC Jan 2016
We currently don't have any of our own kids but we do have guardianship of my brother (16) and we have have a 1yr old Basset hound. We can't wait to expand our family.
This is my first time posting here. I have been lurking on and off for oh probably a year or so now.
My DH and I will be married 2 years on 21st of June. Been together 9 years...

Which was devastating to find out. Then in march when we were ready to start ivf found out I had polyps and had them removed. Currently taking meds for ivf cycle. Suppose to have retrieval 6/21 and trans either the 21st or 24th. Here's hoping I get my bfp.
TTC since August 2018

I'm Kristi. I haven't been on the board for a few months, but I think it's time I come back! I mostly lurked, but I think the support you ladies bring will be a huge help to me.
A little about me and my personal life:
I just turned 21, and DH and I have been married for a little over a year.
My fertility journey so far:
DH and I have been NTNP for about a year.
