In case anyone else finds this thread super discouraging: I'm up 5lbs from my last pregnancy weigh in (which was 2weeks before Ruth was born) at 7weeks PP.
Lack of sleep always really messes with my metabolism, the same thing happened with my older daughter. Once I'm able to sleep a little more, hopefully some weight will start coming off. For now, though, main priority is helping Ruth with her (very slow) weight gain.
From what I can tell my weight has bounced around a bit too but I don't know exact numbers. Gaining weight has always been easy for me. Losing is super tough
One of my SIL said bf made her gain weight actually because she was so hungry all the time.
Our bodies do interesting things.
Talk about really discouraging though...Lol/Ugh, my mom pulled out a bikini picture of herself after baby #3 and was showing everyone how great she looked. I know she didn't mean any harm, but here I am, FTM, up an absurd amount of weight, overdue and bloated..Last thing I care to see is hot pictures of her pp! Plus she was like 3 years younger than I am now in her picture and I know for a fact that despite having a goodlooking body, she hasn't really ever been a healthy dieter. Lol to my justfications.
@Squirtgun don't be discouraged! I keep reading this thread and thinking in comparison to all these updates... "good grief what the heck is my body doing over here??"
I gained 43 lbs, have lost about 17...and now it just keeps bouncing around there going back up some days and way down other days and I'm 3 weeks pp. It's all over the place and messing with my head a little bit! Some days I'm starving and other days I don't feel hungry at all.
Drink plenty of water and don't worry about it for now!
I can't be the only one who hasn't even really thought about weight loss yet right?
I gained somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 pounds during pregnancy, and I have no idea how that compares to my previous pregnancies. I'm 2 weeks postpartum and haven't stepped anywhere near a scale. In fact, we don't even own a scale. I figure I'll find put my weight at my 6 week check up and until then, I'm not giving it another thought - especially with the holidays and winter (aka hibernation season) coming!
I am however, revamping how I eat - trying to think in terms of healthy, energy boosting snacks instead of handfuls of Halloween candy and Oreos. (Did you see the Brownie Batter flavor for the holidays?!) So I'm focusing on health rather than scale numbers, though I'm sure that will change at some point.
Holy $hit! any of you wearing a belly wrap or girdle? I've been doing great with weight loss breastfeeding alone but tried on a small belly wrap that was given to me and that shit hurt! How do people with a c-section wear this crap??
I only gained 20 lbs this pregnancy and I have lost 11 so I have 9 lbs to go, but with the holidays coming up I don't see those 9lbs coming off anytime soon.

I am officially 1 month pp! Crazy how time flies. I had gained about 45 pounds during my pregnancy (1st)--I started at a normal weight and by 2 week checkup, I had already lost 30 pounds without doing anything extra! Still would love to lose this last bit but taking care of baby is so much more important right now:) Good luck to you all, it really is amazing how it just falls off!
3 weeks pp and stayed the same as last week. Looks like all the water weight is gone and the rest may come off slowly (11 lbs up from pre pregnancy). I downloaded the lose it app but want to be cautious with counting calories while breastfeeding. From what I've read shouldn't go below 1800 calories a day. Will see what next week brings!
8 days PP and hit my pre pregnancy weight (-18pounds) and 10 days PP down an additional 3. Want to lose 7 more and I was really concerned about how possible it would be before he was born but I'm pretty confident now!
I gained a total of 41 lbs with the pregnancy. I'm weighing myself once a week, so at two weeks PP, I was down 27 lbs. I weigh in again on Friday. I'm not doing anything yet toward losing the weight. I plan to start walking w the baby this week (it has rained every day so far). I'm not at all dieting, but my appetite is fairly scarce.
I was down 27 lb (out of about 35) at my 2 week PP visit. Yesterday was one month, and I think I may be below my pre-pregnancy weight (I don't weigh at home, so I won't know for sure until my 6 week followup). It's possible, though, that my perception is skewed because I got used to the water weight toward the end.
LO is 10 days old, down 27 pounds Which us about what I gained. I'd like to lose 10 more after she's a little older. I probably won't focus on weight until she's about 3 months. I have way too much going on as a FTM!
3.5 weeks PP and I'm not stepping near a scale until after Christmas. To be honest, weight loss is at the back of my mind, I'd rather my vagina was 100% first!
I can almost do my pre pregnancy skinny jeans up, I'd rather judge it by those instead of actual numbers. although I know I've lost weight, I still have that soft jelly belly feeling :-( but honestly it took nine months to get my full pregnancy belly so il give myself a few more yet
Down 20lbs in 1 week! Honestly, I feel pretty damn good about myself. I was terrified my body would betray me but I think everything will bounce back quickly. Granted, I've eaten better than I have in my whole life and have portioned meals with good macros.

I'm with you on the vagina healed first. I have a major case of jelly belly so I don't even want to try on my pre pregnancy jeans yet. Honestly half my days are spent in sweat pants still anyway. They're much more comfortable when I'm sitting with a boob hanging out most days.
Still no scale, BUT my maternity jeans/shorts are really loose again! Sadly I still can't wear too many of my "normal" clothes due to the jelly belly thing and that they would irritate my healing c-section incision/scab.
I went to my 6 week PP appointment last week and weigh less now than I did BEFORE I got pregnant. All I've been doing is breastfeeding my daughter. I thought their scale was broken (I don't own one)...just counting my lucky stars!
Gained 45 pounds, almost two weeks postpartum and have lost 32 pounds so far. Had a pretty traumatic delivery which killed my appetite for a week so I think the rest will be harder to lose. Started about 15 pounds over weight so I want to lose another 35 pounds. Can't wait to start working out again!
I gained 27 pounds and today I'm 9 days PP with 15 pounds less! My husband says is because I'm exclusively breastfeeding which I believe it's true because with our first one I lost tones of weight. I'm also eating healthier. Not that I cut anything out of my diet but just added more vegetables and oatmeal in the morning which helps with the production of breast milk plus makes me feel fuller during the day. Remember we are all different and each body will take it at its own pace.
Finally weighed myself today, gained 30 lbs from my starting weight, although I did lose some first trimester, so my gain was actually closer to 40 lbs. Down 25 from my pre-birth weight at 10 days PP, hoping to do better once I can get out and start walking. Just need to start eating better! I would love to end up back where I was in first trimester.
The last few weeks of delivery hit me hard weight wise. Between pigging out and water weight, I ended up gaining about 80 lbs by the end. Yes, really. Now I am 17 days pp and down almost 35 lbs. The next 45 looks daunting, but so far I feel pretty good.
My appetite is still barely there, but other than ice cream sandwiches my so keeps buying, I'm back on my old diet pretty much. So much healthier cravings. Strange how that worked out.
I'm walking almost everyday, but can't wait to feel up to exercising a little more intensely.
I am so glad to lose a lot of that water weight though! Crazy how much better my legs feel!
I am 32lbs down at 9 days PP. I have at least 30 more to go. I agree with @MercyC1130 , my legs feel so much better to get all that water weight off, I feel like I still have maybe a little bit of swelling to go. I feel like the next 30 won't be so easy, and I'm hoping to get less jiggly too, I feel like a giant squid! And all I want for Christmas is for my rings to fit again! They go over the knuckle easily now, but won't quite make it all the way down to where they're supposed to be.

You can do it @MercyC1130. I gained 75 with my daughter. It was all gone by 9 months pp, which was my goal. So much of it was water weight too.
I'm eating like crap lately since I was on the GD diet for 4 months. My son is 3 weeks today and I'm a pound below my starting weight. I only gained about 25lbs though. I gave myself until the new year- when he will be one month, to eat what I want and then it's back to a healthy diet. I want to lose at least 30 more pounds.
I'm down 29 lbs (gained about 35) at 3 weeks PP and have finally lost all my water weight. My feet look so tiny!! I was trying to lose weight when I got pregnant, so I'd like to lose at least another 20 lbs, if not more. Not working out yet, just doing some walking when I can. Looking forward to finishing healing so I can be more active.
Gained 48lbs and at 3 weeks pp was down 21lbs. Not exactly eating healthy just eating when I can and not eating as much as I should because most days LO is cluster feeding all day. Have another 43lbs to go to reach my goal of 125.
I still haven't weighed myself yet, but I'm seconding @dramaphile. I'd forgotten what my feet looked like pre-pregnancy.
My stomach looks so different now(obviously). I'm a month PP now - is there still a chance that some of this flab will melt away, or is this the new normal until I can actually exercise again? Or is that one of those magical "different for everyone" answers?

With both ds1 and ds2 I literally dropped 20 pounds in the hospital.
DD I have only lost 10. So I still have 15 to lose
